Dang, Fukur0, how do you get your lineart from those roughs? I envy artists who can do such rough roughs and hammer so much out in the cleanup phase. It's too bad you didn't finish, but it's still readable at least, which is good.
Alberto311: Oh wow he is SO into that bunny it's amazing. Very charming and funny.

@Puzzlething Thanks for the crit! I see what you are saying, great points and definitely on Target. I'll start looking at some art books, for more composition and subject blocking. Thanks

@petarvee - Thank you for the compliments, very kind. And as far as the faces go, you are absolutely correct, i"m not sure why i go there, you aren't the first person to tell me that... I definitely need to work that bug out of my mindset. And yes i was very mindful to get Ruuto and Bunip, right. I didn't want Fukur0 coming at me in the middle of the night. lol
Also thanks for the inspo, I was a big fan of Appleseed and Tank Police, i still have a few copies laying around. I love Masamune Shirow's work... I haven't checked out Yusuke Murata's Eyeshield 21, or the New One Piece but i will this week. But my Inspiration to do backgrounds and although i fall way behind is Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira and Domu manga's. The man is simply amazing. And also Gun Smith Cats, The new One Punch man, and I am Hero have great line work in them.

@Fukur0 No worries, I felt really bad after you accepted the challenge, I didn't realize you had other challenges on your plate. I had a really great time developing this, and playing with Bunip....hehehe, he really made the story for me.
I really liked your battle, loved the way you portrayed Carlos.... lot's of soul in your story. I wish I would have developed Ruuto's character more, but I really limited myself with only ten pages. Many props to you for putting out this much effort under all that you were going through. Thanks for the challenge! You Rock!!!!

I like how the premises are basically trying same but the comics take it in very different ways.
Fukuro, I dig your colour palette, the night scene is really made by those colours for me. Your comic's cute, but next time you can't finish, can you please at least clean up your speech bubbles real quick so they're more readable? I couldn't bother with most of them cause of all the scribbles, and that's a shame cause it's an easy thing to do last minute that at least gets the story through.
Alberto; gosh darn I do like your inks here. Could maybe use some more variation, but I like it quite a bit as is. You could use some work on dynamic poses, but otherwise I'm rather satisfied. Some nice looking stuff, some funny stuff, some good stuff.

@fukur0
It always sucks when you can't finish, and if I crit anything that was just cause you couldn't finish, I'm super sorry. And like even tho it's not complete, there's plenty of nice stuff here! I really like your choices of colour schemes. Low light/nightime colour can be really challenging, and the pallete you went with definitely works, both in the quiet moments before the fight, and afterward when stuff heats up.
If the later pages are actually any indication of your process, I think going from loose sketches strait to finished/inked linework is a little bit of a jump for you. Like, it might be affecting your artwork a little bit. It might be easier to tighten your linework and the strength of your forms if you go over your rough placement sketches with some more detailed drawing, before going in and putting down your final lines.
@alberto
You put so much work into your comics, it's p amazing. Working with cities and detailed settings is def not easy, esp with a meticulous tool like pen and ink, but you don't let up at all. Not only do you give everything so much attention and care, but you find new and interesting angles to shoot the action and story.
I think though, all that attention and energy is getting spread around too evenly. You've got the abilities to render and create these great meticulous scenes, but you need to try and focus the viewers eye on what's important. Render and darken the stuff we should notice, and chill on stuff that's less important to the flow of the panel and page. Start using your hatching, line work, and spot blacks to break up the artwork, so it's not just lots of details everywhere, all the time.

So did you guys ~plan~ a bunip-centric storyline or did that just happen. Either way: Hot Damn.
@Fu I'd give ya a nice, long-winded, critique but I feel that without seeing the rest of the comic, or what it was gonna be, it'd be a whole lotta me pointin out the obvious. Hopefully at some point you can finish it and submit it was a BB or somethin.
@alberto311 AYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Damn man! I'm so glad you're fighting again! You made me genuinely laugh out loud with your dialogue. So absolute props for that. Plus, as a general story-bit, you really meshed these characters super well and it all felt organic, so double props in that regard. As far as art: Again, you're crushin it. I'm an absolute fan of black-n-white or just line-art comics, especially when they're done well. And ya didn't pull any punches! You've got some great shots of the city, vehicles, and damn fine effects! I feel like the one place where things sorta fall apart are the faces. But not all of em, strangely enough. La Cucaracha and his buddy seem to have drifting features that sorta augment their faces in weird ways---but Ruuto doesn't. And I've never seen someone draw their opponents character more carefully than their own, but there's a first time for everything! There's not too much to crit that wouldn't just be nitpicks, so I'll just try and direct ya towards where you can get some inspo. Namely, Yusuke Murata's Eyeshield 21 (A sports manga), the newer One Piece chapters, and Dominion Tank Police and/or Appleseed. Now, theser all mangas, and you obviously lean super Western with your comics, and that's totally fine and great; But these handful of series' use a very linework-only approach to their comics that I think you'd really appreciate.
