Knomer
I love them inks and paint-ish style. Simple story followed by tons of action, nicely done. Fukking awesome corridor fight. My jaw dropped at page 6, beautiful angle.
For the time given, the quality is solid. I can only imagine what you can do with 4 weeks. I'd love a rematch with you...maybe i'll even get it this tourney. Somehow...the minimal amount of background seem to work with your style.
Great ending too. Makes it seem nobody survived, which pans out pretty good werther you win or lose.
Sixtem -
Sweet CLEAN linework
Good set-up. Very cool how you fleshed out Kujo and gave him motivation to kick ass. When i was reading it i thought he was your character. SOmewhere in the middle i got a little impatient with the story, but right at that moment there's a twist i really love. Cute chick
The way you portrayed the purpose of SDT is done in a way that it can be understood by people who never been to Void.
Best first round match up!

Very badass match right here! let's go tie!!!!
Knomer, great inks, loved the action! when pistol tossed the dude to Kujo to slice in half I lost it, fantastic action! The story was nice as well, good emotion from the characters despite it being so action oriented, very believable.
sixtem, your version of the tournament is really great, I enjoy the universe you've crafted here, and nice hat tip to the void canon of past. great overall quality, nice characterization of the gang.

AAAAAAH SO AWESOME. I hope I get a change to square up with you guys, cause then I'd get to see my character in such an awesome comic.
Sixtem - I've always loved how much attention you put on your opponent dude. For you it's really about telling a good, complete story rather than raising your own character up on a pedestal. The way you built up the Yakuza and Kujo as the sympathetic protagonists felt natural, even with the few pages you had. I wish that Clash and Pistol had gotten a similar treatment, because by the end I didn't have much of an attachment to them as the characters that are your real protagonists. I didn't care what happened to them or what they were going to do next. I know you don't have many pages to do so much, but considering how effective your story had been on every other aspect, I think you can totally pull it off.
I liked the futility and shortness of the final fight, because it really fit the narrative, but I think you could've sold the futility a bit more with your illustrations, and the overwhelming power of the fighters. The two close up punches have great action in them, but that's it. Afterwards, we see Kujo on the ground listing his horrendous condition, but he's only drawn as though he fell over and scraped his face. We even see Clash stepping through a broken door towards the downed Kujo, which suggests she kicked him through the door. If you had showed him being kicked through a glass and steel door still hanging out in the ruins, it would have gone farther selling the overwhelming power of Clash to a normal person.
As always your art is really charming, and it gets the idea across effectively. Just Kujo's first expression made me laugh, it was so perfect. The edges got a little choppy from however you compressed it, so maybe try saving it at a higher quality? I really have no idea how to fix that.
Knomer - I don't really have much more to say than Angie, but I seriously loved your art. I liked the minimal backgrounds, but I didn't like it whenever the characters were just chilling out in a white void. Some panels just had a single line to denote background and that worked totally fine. Also, the explosion scene at the top of page 7 is a little hard to read, but you had a similarly busy scene on page two that was perfectly fine, so I feel like anything I have to say will just be redundant :I

It's a huge shame you guys both can't win, because this was definitely my favorite this round, you guys both did great.
Knomer-There wasn't much to the story but dammit it didn't need it because you did a fantastic job doing an entertaining and engaging action comic. Page 8 especially was one of my favorites. Really my only complaint was there wasn't much to your backgrounds in the shots that used them. Now you totally didn't need any backgrounds inside the action sequence, but for parts like the opening and ending just a little more love would have been great.
Sixtem-On the flip side, you had a great story but your action wasn't as strong. I felt as though Kujo's death was rather abrupt in comparison to the amount of build up you had for him as a character. I would have liked the actual fighting to have lasted a tad longer so all of the build up would have felt more worth it. But it was an otherwise entertaining and nicely done comic.

Awesome action, Knomer. The panel of that guy getting bisected was beautiful.
Whichever way this goes, it's gonna be a close match! I love a good fight.
