I love the psychadelic look and feel to this. Visually,it's really pleasing. The text, with the see-through word boxes, can be hard to read sometimes, though.

This looks cool! The quality dips a bit on the last page but I like the mood this comic has, how'd you do that? It looks traditional which gives everything an organic feel, but the text is so inorganic and contrasts from the rest so much that it seems a bit out of place. Excited to read more chapters!

Its really nice that all the critiques you have made I recognised too, it reinforces further where I need to make changes.
It is in fact all traditional, apart from the text, borders and some gradients I've used to add some shade and light in places. I do hope to do everything traditionally from this point on, with hand lettering, borders and perhaps shading with spray paint or watered down inks.
I will experiment further with the transparency of the balloons/boxes. I do like the texture that you see through with the transparency so I will have to play around a bit to see what works.
Gregly, are you asking how I physically did the art, or evoked the mood?
The art was a mix of lots of seperate layers of original art. Wax, pigments, inks, watercolours, which I then brought together on Photoshop.
How I evoked the mood I've no idea really. I went through quite a long process of storyboarding it out, with a real mindfulness towards tone and lighting. Maybe that helped?
Thanks again.
Joe.
