Another rather cool thing (edit: not the comic, keep looking down) for Martial Art junkies and nuances of characterization. :D

The comic is rubbish but the blog post is insightful.

He has a point, granted. But the best way to demonstrate body language is by learning to properly draw bodies. Guy's anatomy needs loads of work.

the first thing i saw was the shitty art. the second was the shitty website design.

he says some good stuff about the necessity of "style" in fight scene, but it's a bit elementary. Doesn't really expound further than the basics of fight choreography. There's this great book I've got on stage combat that talks about this, unfortunately it's in my parents' house somewhere in a box.

the main idea is that fighting style is another reflection of character design, and not just formal styles either. it needs to reflect their personality and their acting, and should be taken just as seriously as the dialogue.

Damn... so nostalgic. Like many of the people on that thread, Animorphs basically got me into reading when I was a kid. It's cool to see the author is so personable and funny when answering questions about the series, other projects, and life in general.

Personally I was reading long before Animorphs because I've always been a bibliophile.  But Animorphs was definitely my favorite series while growing up.  I still have the entire series packed neatly away in a box.  The TV show kinda ruined the magic...

this thing is brilliant!

i wish the places i lived had clearer skies. it's almost impossible to get a good star view in los angeles, and bay area isn't much better.

I don't remember if this was posted in here before or not, but Wei told me to throw this on here anyways. This fella took children's art and drew it realistically or professionally (however you want to call it.)

It's very very cool.

As a fellow 80s child, I relate to this dude's comics a lot

my mind was pretty blown the first time I met someone that was an adult born after the 80s.
