Hey, I'm new to the site and I'm working on developing a character.  I plan to add a bit more to the character sheet with a bit more information and also the fairy as her own character.  They'll be bundled together as one character.  I don't have a name for the fairy as of yet either but will make one soon.  As of right now I'm just looking to get some good feedback on the character and quality.  Please voice your opinions, thanks.

I like it! Seems like a really fun character to work with, and you've got a nice style happening too.

I can't offer too much feedback since there's a lack of description and pages for this character. I look forward to seeing more!

based on this i think you should just go ahead and start working on the intro pages

but you asked for some response so i would propose we go about this another way.......do you have actual concerns with the design or are you just nervous and uncertain cuz this is all new to you?

if you have concerns....what are they?

if you are nervous or uncertain....don't be....... and get back to work on the entry;)

Hey I'm back.  I'll be getting started on the intro comic soon, but wanted to share another character as well.

But here's some info on Uboggolt.  Uboggolt is a cultist and merchant, he travels through different parts of time and space while also dimension hopping.  He is also skilled in multiple forms of the dark arts (magic).  His main goal is to always get a sale.  He is greedy, flamboyant, and absolutely mad.  Also rather than fight Uboggolt would rather talk or bargan his way out of a sticky situation.  Uboggolt's bag contains almost anything, and can sell you just about anything, ranging from spells to a nuclar bomb! Most of the goods he sells are wish giving items, and like all of the stories of old most of those can cause double edged wishes.  However I would like to see interaction with other characters obtaining an item and then letting the artist decided how to use that item in future comics.
So to sum it up
Name: Uboggolt
Occupation: Cultist/ Merchant
Skills: Dark Magic, great salesman, and alchemist

A little on Jill, she started as a normal person who became altered by an unknown entity that gave her the ability to spawn creatures, objects, and beyond.  She usually needs an art base, so a sketch or any art.  However some spawns are completely random and force themselves into reality.  Her ability to spawn something also is based on her amount of focus to create that said spawn. So to get a baseball bat she needs to think baseball bat, if distracted it could warp or come out completely different.  Most spawns are creatures.
Her personality is someone who is a bit anti social, usually avoiding large crowds.  If she sees someone having trouble she goes to their aid.  She can turn into a hot head and a completely different person in those kinda situation.
So to sum it up
Name: Jill Amaranth
Occupation: Artist
Skills: drawing and painting (graffiti mostly), monster spawning, minor parkour skills

Also Jill will be coming with another character that will be a spawn that has a mind of it's own.

That's about it for now, let me think what ya think of the new character and the info on em. Thx

I just wanted to post here to see what expectations are and see responses on the characters, basically see how well recieved they'd be. And thanks I'll do that next.  I'll get started on the intro comic next, I'll start with Uboggolt.

Well sir, you've seem to have a huge problem now: which one of these fantastic characters to submit into void, because oh my gosh, Jill is just too cute.

Seriously though, it depends on who you'd like to try out first when it comes to comic battling. Which one of the two would you see to be more interesting in writing for? Are you comfortable with one more than the other? They're both great ideas, and both equally have a spot in void no problem, so go with whoever you think you'd like to use more often here.

Lol, thanks.  and idk, I've been developing Jill for a long time, but Uboggolt I designed for this website.  the ideas of interacting with the other characters while leaving them with items they could take into future comics sounded fun and a merchant doesn't seem like a common character choice.  However Jill is a favorite and it's fun thinking of the possibilities of interactions with others and her powers.  Jill also comes with another character letting me do 2 instead of 1. Is it not possible to have 2 characters at the same time or does someone have to die first?

There's characters in void who come in pairs or groups, so it's entirely fine if you submit Jill + whoever if it's a duo kind of thing. Mona and Lisa, Gwen and Regi and Phillips Household are good examples of what I mean.

There's also others who post NPC's in their character's design sheet, like an optional tag a long of sorts too. Example of that would be Casino Reasoning. Main fighter, but also has two characters that show up in his comics from time to time.

But 2 separate characters isn't allowed or just hasn't been done? Well, either way that helps thank you.  I'll think about it over night as of which will be the main one I decide to work on first.

Oh if that's the case, you'd have to submit one and do a few comics for a while as far as I'm aware. The Approval Committee has to see that you're capable of finishing comics before you can submit another character.

Also out of personal opinion, choose one that you are very sure you can do comics for first. Usually, this means a favorite one what you have developed enough to write easily.

I...I'm not psycho-ing you into submitting Jill buuuuuuut just be mindful of this alright? I love the concepts for both of them, here's to seeing more of you around.

I wish I had time to say more, but I just wanted to pop in and say that these designs are so cool and I LOVE Jill!! But yeah, pick the one that you think you will have the most fun with. Once you get a few battles under your belt then you can think about submitting a second.

Thanks,  well the people have spoken I guess.  I'll do Jill first then. Thx again for your input ya'll.  I'll get started on an intro comic, I've got a first panel in mind already.

Almost forgot, last question. So Jill's got her own story I'm currently writing, and it has of course a multitude of characters. Now one of which I plan on having in my intro comic and reaccrue on occasion. Do I need to submit more info for that outside of writing?  Also can you put pre exsisting characters from Void done by others in my intro comic?

Re: New Character: Uboggolt + one
you can use Void characters in your intro comic, a few other folks have done it, Scrumpy to name one. On other characters, you can add as much as little info as needed depending on how much they are going to show up in your comics. Characters that already have their own canon stories, well those tend to get thrown out pretty quickly in Void lol, you'll end up with two different versions of the characters after a while because the sort of interactive comic atmosphere of Void and all the characters yours end up interacting with shape their personality a lot. But for the intro you can draw whatever you need as long as its under 4 pages.
...and Jill is precious but am I the only one on Team Uboggolt? lol but i am biased towards horror-ish characters.

Mate these characters look amazing!! I really like your drawing style and can't wait to see some comic action, so get on it! It'll be interesting to see how you integrate Ubbogolt into the rest of VOID, if you pick him. I love the multi-dimensional aspect :) And Jill is adorable! I love the idea of spawning things from drawings - I actually have a VOID character in the works with a similar power, maybe they could be friends ahaha (if I ever make him ever...)

Ultimately it's up to you who you go with. Both characters would work great in VOID so pick the one you feel most comfortable drawing pages for and work on them. You can always enter the other later on, once you've got a few battles under your belt :)

Sorry no comic pages yet but I know the direction I want to take.  I have just one question left.  How does the copyright work on this site, I've noticed that there are copyrights all over and it all says to the respective owners. Under the comics it names the comic artist.  So I was wondering if the Void team actually copyrights this stuff (put down the money for an actual copyright) or just has it as a site mandatory that helps to protect peoples work?
Also should I do examples of her spawns?

Well outside of that I've completed the secondary character that's paired with Jill, and it's of course Jack.  Jack is the self aware spawn that is a combination of different things.  He was originally a shade, shadow like figures that wandered the "Shade Zone" (I may include this as a location to add into Void).  As a shade he managed to escape the Shade Zone and entered a place outside of his own reality, there he somehow fell into Jill's mind and was altered by it.  He later spawned himself slowly into existence and even molded his appearance and named himself.  When he talks it's shown as gibberish and symbols (it's just ha, ha, ha because it was a little rushed but I'll change it for final submission) and only Jill and children around the ages of 1-6 can understand him.  He can warp his figure and can pull out any number of weapons, his favorite being a giant pair of scissors.  He can also travel through shadows similar to Uboggolt, but where Uboggolt uses a spell Jack does this naturally as second nature.  Jack can also still travel through Jill's mind, the Shade Zone, and Jill's current reality (Void).  Jack acts as if he is a cartoon character from early Warner Bros. or Disney cartoons, goofy and violent! He also enjoys conflict.
Well that's about it for now, I'm gonna jump straight to the comic and after I've got that done I'll post it for review here.  After that I'll add what Jack's scissors look like and SUBMIT it all.  I'll get the written stuff done tonight since I've basically done that here already.

no we don't pay for copyrighting and yes artists retain ownership of their characters........ but allow other artists to use them within the confines of this site

Well I got the allowing other artists part, I'm all game for that big time! And ok, thanks, that's all I needed to know.  Ok, I'm all in the saddle and go'n. You'll hear from me again once I've got'n some pages done and the like. Thx again for answering all my questions.

Above is my page 1 for Jill's intro comic.  There's no talking for these panels as it's more of Jill freak'n out.  This is her appearing before the dark entity that gave her, her powers.  I've decided that Jill's adventures in Void will take place inbetween my solo story for this character.  basically before Void, where the her main story is set up and she's experienced enough to be skilled with her powers, and after void which would be the climax and closing of her story, well maybe, kind of think I would just have her story go on till I'm bored with it.  I struggled for a while to see how I should do these panels so took me a minute.  Will be starting of page 2 and taking any advice or comments I get from you guys and my friends I'm sharing this with. thx

Oh, and below, I came across some old pirate characters of mine and thought they'd be a ton of fun.  So I started doing a mock intro comic for them as practice and for ideas.  only 4 members are present in this comic but there are 5 total.  My idea would be to submit them all as a single character, they'd just go around looking for a treasure they will never find, because they don't realize they already have it.  They get to void by sailing there on their ship, which jumps through time and space whenever they flip a magic coin.  The coin's ability to do this is the ultimate treasure but they're convinced that the real treasure is yet to be found.  They're dumb but brilliant.

looking good! I'd say don't worry too much about the canon in your story idea for Jill, this is void, anything is possible for you, so you can even make this a void canon separate from your main solo story for Jill.

And hey, the pirate thing sounds pretty neat too, but again, try to focus on just one entry for now. You'll have plenty of opportunities to submit any other character when you have Jill up and battling others in comics!
