rotoscoping was a form of animation....originally using film stock and painting over it...they used it in Snow White...Superman cartoons.....and Bakshi's Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit....Heavy Metal...or most recently in 'A Scanner Darkly'....nowadays it means overlapping any image/visual effect overtop of existing filmstock( like a lightsabre )

he's saying they look like you drew overtop of or traced existing photgraphs

ohhh haha, well Im assuming your talking about that very last image of the four boxers then. Which while not traced was drawn from reference, ill take that as a compliment that I did an accurate job of recreating the pictures then haha. I did it that way as it was for a design Im getting tattoo'd on my arm next tuesday so i needed accuracy in likeness.
