Hi, it's Tofu, the member of Entervoid who never draws their face unless it's for work purposes. Have a pixel art thing I did instead.

My characters are the NOW RETIRED AS OF TODAY M-Zero-Oh (he's got his very own webcomic! http://dapshow.com/mzero/) and Tiffany Dropkick, plus a plethora of dead characters. In fact, I got into this website because I joined an SDT and not the invitational, like a crazy person.

I think I've been active for two years? Maybe a year? I think two years.

I dayjob at a retro arcade museum and am currently learning about the upkeep and electronics that goes into that (I WILL FIX ALL THE THINGS!) I'm also a freelance illustrator and comic artist, and I'm always working on stuff!

Would anyone be up for a meetup around June 7-9th? Otakutaylor is gonna be visiting and he wants to meet all you awesome dudes.

Tentatively putting down yes because I'll be getting back from Anime Expo around the 7th or 8th! It would be cool to jam with voidpeeps again.

Unfortunately Fanime's not posting up what time the panels are, (thanks Fanime!) so I'll let yall know what times they are.

I'll also be at the Tokusatsu Cosplay Gathering (not running it this year, tho, thank god) so if you like that sort of thing check us all out we're rad

I will be at Fanime this year! Not going to be tied to a table so I have a bit more flexability with things!

I will be helping friends out with panels though ("Awesomely Bad Jmusic Videos" and "Weird Manga"), and will be doing the Tokusatsu/Gaim cosplay meets on Saturday and probably a photoshoot on sunday...but for the most part I'll be around if you wanna holla at me!

SoCal peeps, I'll also be at Power Morphicon and AX this year! Same with Yaoicon (tabling) and Fall Kraken Con (tabling/maid cafe).

Give me a color ref I can at least flat it for you.

Oh man, thank you for offering! I do want to try experimenting with some new coloring things, though, so I can handle it for right now! Even if I don't make the poster deadline, I do wanna use this for something.

Whoops, I'm too late. Sorry guys, real life and other art projects took a toll on me, so all I have to show is pencils. I'll probably turn it into a sticker or sellable item, though, since I probably won't get to coloring it until next week.

New here? / Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
« on: Feb 11, 2014, 09:09 PM »
Oh hey there, fellow JoJo fan!

We over at entervoid dot com are massive fans of Hirohiko Araki--just look at JongBom's work, or the tag team battle I did with Coatl a while back, or any thread where someone just happens to mention that comic (because then you cannot get me/will duel/coatl/etc to shut up about it.)

JoeNeary, what part are you reading from? Technically you can start at any part, but Parts 1-3 kind of tie into each other thematically so you have to read em all after the other.

AndrossTheTraitor, I see you're a writer, not so much an artist. Are you looking for a specific artist to team up with, or would you be more interested in working with a different person on a battle by battle basis?

Because I might be interested. 8 U I haven't submitted a comic here in a while, but here's a link  to my more recent comic work : http://dapshow.com/mzero/

ALSO just as a friendly warning, if you do make a Dio Brando/DIO clone character you will have a bunch of us jump down your neck for doing so (we know our JoJo really well), so make sure to not take too many nods from him!

The guys doin' anime jesus' work over at http://www.colonydrop.com/index.php?blog=1colonydrop used  http://www.magcloud.com/products/print HP Magcloud for their zines, which are of magazine quality. They told me that they're kind of like print on demand, so you don't have to buy a whole batch of stuff in order to make a print quota. I'm not sure on their book quality, though.

Lulu dot com http://www.lulu.com/ has also been the indie industry go-to for book printing, although personally I've never ordered from them so I can't say how good they are.

If you're talking about Indyplanet, I'm not sure how good they are. Jax might be able to let you know about that.

If by self publishing websites you mean online publishing, there's Smackjeeves (hard to get noticed unless you have a massive fanbase), Manga Magazine (You need to be invited to publish on there I think), Wordpress/Comicpress (you need to know basic wordpress layouts) and I guess DrunkDuck is kind of sort of still around.

Taptastic is a new self publishing site, but it's very much vertical-scrolling-stacked comics (the kind that spawned thanks to the DA OCT circuit) friendly. Not sure how great it is, but I think its main selling point is that it's tablet friendly.

My webcomic is running on dapshow, which is run by void's very own dawgmastas and neens!

Is there a rolling deadline for submissions (for example, new submissions can be submitted every two months or so, etc) or is there no major deadline (open submission)?

Take your time with your intro pages--there's no need to rush!

Also, Bagman needs to fight Baghead. http://entervoid.com/index.php?action=character;id=1992

Alright, thanks for the response, Monday! I think I'm going to stick to promoting/drawing my own webcomic by myself for right now--my schedule is pretty packed as it is this year with anthology entries. D :

If you've published a comic online as a webcomic, are you allowed to run it in Revolt as well as continuing to update it online?

aside from that, it might be neat if you're going to  go with a crazy colorscheme throughout and have his colorscheme change from page to page, or battle to battle.

Let's see a ref sheet, too!

Do some research on various bug wings! There's some really fun gross colors you could play with when it comes to transparencies in bug wings, or you could push the crystal theme the whole way through and take it into his teeth and nails as well.

« on: Jan 10, 2014, 07:18 PM »
aaaaaactually my issue was that a lot of horrible people kind of frequent TVTropes, and it's apparently a big hub of drama, so it usually sets off alarm bells once a community lands on there. Plus, there's other methods of research when it comes to pop culture elements/writing elements that I prefer.

IDK, I'm old and the nofunallowedrobot.jpg 2.0.

(jho was nofunallowedrobot.jpg 1.0)
