Speed Death Tournament, 2010 Edition
The Speed Death Tournament is easily one of the most requested tournaments around here, with Armageddon it's only closest competitor. So we're giving you what you've longer for - a new Speed Death Tournament, beginining February 1st.
The Details:
* Applications will be taken until January 29th.
* Final artist selection will be announced January 31st.
* Round One will begin February 1st.
* Each round will be one week for drawing, one week for voting.
* All Matches are DEATH matches... thus the "Death" in Speed Death Tournament
* 3 page minimum per comic
* Intention of joining can and should be made below, but all Applications will need to submit their character through the Main Site by January 29th, at the latest.
* Not meeting requirements will result in automatic disqualification from the tournament for the Artist as well as the chance to be shamed by all of their peers.
Artists will be selected from Applicants by Council Majority Vote and placed into matches randomly.
The tournament winner will have the title of 'Speed Death Tournament Champion 2010' added to his/her character profile on the Main Site as well as the great relief of surviving many harrowing rounds against tough competition.
FOR THOSE NEW TO SDT:
Speed Death Characters only require a Design Sheet and Bio, but do not require an Intro. Since the uploader will not let you pass without Intro images, please use the Design Sheet for all fields.
Most people create a new character for Death tournaments, though existing characters are fine as well.

History: The Masked Men have long been known to train assassins and experiment on them for their own purposes. Yet a select group within the organization decided that they wanted to reproduce reliable and elite assassins who were of human blood and more easily controlled. And so began the 'God of Assassins' program, using advanced training and experimentation in order to craft the best of the best from scratch instead of relying on those with natural born abilities.
The program began by choosing babies that had optimal genetic profiles and the girl who would come to be known as Red Rabbit had been predisposed to increased memory capacity. And from day one she was bred to be a Soldier in the organization knowing nothing except what they told her. Her Thanatos urge was developed as to be set upon the world. Whereas some people get sad, she would kill, when people get angry, she would kill, even if she got excited, she would kill. She is, for all intents and purposes, a sociopath, and killing is as natural as breathing and she feels no remorse. From the moment a person walks into the room, she has thought of a thousand and two ways to eliminate them. She has successfully murdered all other subjects in the program and remains the only one. Even when they want to relay messages to her, expendables are chosen as there is an 80% mortality rate among the messengers.
And so for this reason she is sent to the SDT, accompanied by Ammo, a first generation prototype android with low AI and low processing ability. He merely serves as a walking shield and supply depot (guns, knives, rifles, shotguns, etc.). Red Rabbit considers Ammo to be her one and only true friend (since she can't really kill him and he's always giving her 'gifts').
She can best be described as a 'normal' and healthy teenage girl if not overly affectionate. She lives to kill because she considers it her 'Art'. All emotion (happiness, libido, excitation, etc.) exists at the moment of the kill which she sees as a beautiful though instantaneous design.
Random Tidbits:
Ammo spits out gunclips and can pull out all sorts of weaponry from unthought of spaces. He can also provide missile support. He also obeys Red Rabbit's commands without exception and his one protocol is to protect and serve her.

Bio: A retired muppet actor for nearly 20 years, Bumbles played as Murry, the main character in a children's muppet-themed TV show "Juniper Trail" in the 1980's in his hometown Parker County. After Voidification during the Warsaw Administration (similar to Califonification) of his town, his studio eventually closed down, due to being out-competed to more flashier, more entertaining and more violent children shows airing on Void's channels. Bumbles spent most of his days hibernating in a shoebox in storage, only coming out to see the news or score heroin.
Bumbles drifted in and out of living reality, weary of the ultra violent, super-sexualized lifestyle of voiders, until he found respite in a homeless girl, Daisy, whom he took in and put her under the care of a kind, elderly woman he would often meet during his driftings. Those 2 years of his life with Daisy were paradise.
Paradise did not last for Bumbles. Under the cover of night, Daisy was kidnapped and her caretaker murdered, Bumbles is now blackmailed by the directors of the Speed Death Tournament, the largest underground webcast in all of Void. Bumbles must now take the spotlight again, not as the childhood hero of millions, but as a deadbeat, dirty killer.

History:
6 years ago, Void Forrests where Amfiibi Use Tech Ops were conducting secret operations on developing weapons and nameless soldiers based on abilities nature has to offer. These were called "Frequencies" due to most of the weapons or movement were based on resonation and vibration.
The prototype Frequencies were a failure as they were slaughtered by predator creatures that roamed the forrests (see SDT2004). Of the twelve warriors only two remained. F6 and F9.
Frequency9 realized he could not stand his ground alone anymore and hid in the monastery. The aiding nuns appeared to be a stand alone covert operation with some genuine religious attachments. After F9 got his ass killed, the nuns dismantled his armour and backward engineered a new type around the same time F6 came looking for him.
Frequency6 realized she was the last of the Frequencies, stole the new Frequency gear and left the forrests to start a new life in the city.
F6 soon discovered she can't have a normal life and secretly missed the action. Different from her warrior predecessor, F6 has a great expertise in theft. The nuns used to call her Baelzebuzz due to her diabolical behaviour and speed. F6 changed her name to BuzzCut.
Rather avoids conflict, but can stand her ground if she has to. Enjoys the thrill of chasing or being chased.
As Frequency9 is a samurai-dude, Frequency6: Buzzcut is more of a ninja-ish bitch
Abilities:
*Extreme speed and agility. Fast leg movements.
Gear:
*Hockey stick with retractable razorblade that resonates at a high frequency to slice through almost everything in an instant. The high pitch sound can be quite irritating. Her trusty I-pod protects her ears.
Comes along with hockey pucks that can be used as explosive projectiles, EMP emitters or multi-angled cameras.
* High powered rollerblades that convert air through different filters that make it seem as if she's not even touching the ground when moving.
* Propeller backpack that pushes her even faster. This item is where the buzzing sound comes from when she moves at high speed. Buzzcut cannot fly like a bee, but she cruise in the air for a long enough time with small bursts.
*Striped pattern vest which can either absorb or deflect light to become invisible for certain types of targets or when a specific theft requires stealth.
*Hockey mask, bulletproof. She can see multiple angles of an area/target depending where she left a puck.
Other shit:
Blasphemous, fast talker and a short attention span. When the mask is on she speaks as little as possible.
Usually has some small time punks and followers with braids, fro's or mohawks as back up wearing vests or jackets that represents a bee.
Preferably steals stuff of importance, for warfare, entertainment or plain just money for them hungry days. Enjoys the chase or being chased.

Mystery Meat went after the monster and won the Speed Death Tournament during 2007. After winning SDT 07, Mystery Meat went to space and became an intergalactic bounty hunter. He had many adventures and participated and won SDT 09 in Space.
He has returned from space to win SDT 010.

Coil suffers from two things.
1. He is the first to self diagnose himself with Combustiphilia; a near sexual obsession for explosions.
2. He is haunted by childhood trauma of seeing his friend and role model get consumed by her own bombs. And through his guilt- has resolved to stop pursuing his mad dream for a sex change operation.
The two together has created a third problem for Coil- one that is both a curse and a solution: Ree.
Ree suffers from two things
1. She is the first to self diagnose herself with Combustiphilia; a near sexual obsession for explosions.
2. She has been created from Coil's inner persona to act out his inability to create bombs despite how potentially talented he could be at it- as well as Coil's feminine identity.
The two together has created a fourth problem for the both of them, they occupy the same body. Coil has been entered in the SDT(Through Ree) in order to raise the money for a sex change operation. Something Coil must now stake her life on to achieve.

History: "Back on earth Kai was a member of a SWAT team, because it was his only choice since he got caught as an underground street fighter, one night in his fights, the cops came out of nowhere and ended his match when they arrested him, but it was a mistake on their part, Kai had become enraged from the fight, his eyes turned red and just went into a blind rage and threw the cops off of him and started attacking them as they came finally they took him down with a tranquilizer dart. Moments he had awoken in a police precinct in New York hand cuffed to the chair he was sitting on, he saw as the police chief walked towards him and began to speak to him "Kai your records say that this is your only arrest, also says you used to be a cop in Texas what happened there" he looked at the chief and said "same reason anyone would for money, being a cop wasn't enough, plus it was an outlet for my rage, I’m sure you heard what happened in the arena when I got arrested" he saw as a cop limped by and thought "I didn't do that did I?" the chief then made him an offer "ok well since this your only arrest I can let you go on one condition" Kai looked and spoke "that would be what?" the chief spoke again "join my SWAT team we need a guy like you" Kai looked to the chief and shook his head in agreement "alright I’ll do it"
As time grew on Kai began to get tired of being a SWAT officer, and wanted something else especially since earth was dying, as he was walking he began to think "There's gotta be something better than being a SWAT officer I mean there's no more crime, especially with Earth dying" suddenly a flyer came out of nowhere and hit him the face which startled him and caused him to yell out "WHAT THE F---" but he calmed down when he took the flyer off his face and read it " Speed Death Tournament huh? Least it's better than being a swat officer for the rest of my life" he balled up the flyer and threw it in a nearby trash as it went in he said "swish, two points"

Bio: This is Mr. Upa, full name Upa Wupa. He picked the wrong time to come to Void city. He only wants to become a successful jazz musician with his musician partner, Dyle the Crocodile. Together they form a band called "the Cold-Bloods". Upa plays the trumpet and Dyle the sax. Don't be fooled by his stature though, Upa can be a fighter if needed, although he's forgotten about his older days when he used to do that sort of thing.
Notes: He is an Axolotl. Can hit people with his trumpet. Can also hurt or hypnotize people with his musical notes, making them tangible objects. Also feel free to give him any sort of outfit as long as it's formal. You don't need to have the pink gills on his earthings either.

Waking up one morning in Void City "Billy" knew immediately that he was in trouble. He had a sense for these things. The day before he was on his home planet, or dimension- who knows where Void is in relation to his home - a forest world filled with terrible creatures built for killing. So "Billy" is no stranger to danger and can handle himself. Still, though, he couldn't help but wonder what dragged him to this city... how he came to be here... and what this danger - this tournament- that he seemed to be stuck in the middle of really was. Maybe if he follows the leads as they present themselves he'll be able to find a way home or at least a few good meals as long as he's stuck here.
Seeking to blend in the young creature took on a generic name. Tom didn't suit him. Neither did Dick, or Harry... but Billy... Billy was a name he liked. His true name- a howl and a shriek- are too hard to pronounce in the western language that dominates the city he's in now.
"Billy" also managed to find a hat and vest that he is now quite fond of. He doesn't always wear them for he is, on the inside, an animal and prefers to be naked and free... but he is often seen in the hat, which he has taken a liking to. For some reason it, above all things and against all odds, seems to survive the worst encounters.
Personality:
"Billy" is highly intelligent, often kind and sometimes innocent and childlike. But he is, above all else, a predator who when hungry will eat almost anything without discrimination and when threatened will definitely fight anything that challenges him. Though he walks on his hind legs in imitation of many of the denizens of the city he can often be found padding around on all fours, naked, when no one is watching.
Powers and Abilities:
The race of creatures that "Billy" comes from are extremely malleable to the point of nearly being shape shifters. This not only allows them to hide many of their offensive and defensive attributes until they need them but allows them to flatten themselves enough to squeeze under a door or hide, if need be.
"Billy" has a prehensile tail.
Intelligence: Billy can currently speak his native language and English, the latter of which he learned by listening to people speak in the city. Billy has the intelligence of a very cunning animal but when it comes to languages he can learn them in a short period of time (about an hour).
Sixth Sense: Like most animals, "Billy" has an uncanny ability to sense danger- not just attacks from behind but also the intent of those around him or even changes in weather. This sense is strong enough that he senses the danger of the tournament long before he knows what it actually is.
Healing: "Billy" can actually regrow lost limbs (or wings) if need be, HOWEVER it would take at least 8 hours to do so, during which time he will need to feed for strength and then rest.
"Billy" is extremely agile and well versed in battle tactics.
"Billy" has a heightened sense of smell/sight/hearing/taste
"Billy" can reach a top speed of 90km/h on all fours- he can only maintain this speed for about a minute.
Flight: "Billy" has wings for flying which he produces from his back when he feels the need to.
Offense - "Billy" has large claws which he can unfurl from his hands or feet as well as razor sharp teeth. The edges of his wings are also very sharp.
Defense - "Billy's" back can harden into black and green rock hard scales. The scales, like any other part of his body, can heal when damaged if given time. His underside will still be soft after this process though so he often rolls himself into a ball to protect his underside.
Note: by moving at high speeds and then rolling into a ball this hard outer shell can be used offensively as well.
When enraged "Billy" may choose to stand to his full height and adjust his bone structure to make it optimal for battle- the main change being the direction the knees on his hind legs bend.
Height: 3ft when standing on hind legs (max height 6ft from wing tip to bottom of feet, standing)
Eyes: Dark and cold.... like a doll's eyes.
Gender: Male
Hair: None.
Scales: Translucent milky white with a blue and purple shimmer. (Black with a green shimmer when hardened)

Clio Warburton is a low criminal in the streets of Void City.
Mostly she is busy with extortion and robbery in the streets.
While she is good at her job she´s not very liked in the her criminal environment.
A awful habit or maybe a mild schizophrenical feature causes her a urgent wish to cut things into pieces and she doesn´t care about wheather this are material things or humans out of flesh. The flash off extreme aggressiveness is mostly stopped by pleasant events, like the victim´s wallet in her hand. But if you make her happy it should work.
Her "colleagues" are not rarely victims to her periods and to be honest, who wonders? The Gang is not known for its smartness. Otherwise its more of a wonder that she hasn´t got killed yet.
Wait...On the other hand she might be killed soon. One of the Gangs assholes registered her at the SDT. Yeah its a bunch of Motherfuckers.

Having heard of a tournament involving speed and death, she was drawn to Void like cheese and stink is drawn towards the French.
Basically, she's a DD busted, Football riot breathing, Strapping Young Lad song, just itching to get close to your still quivering ribcage and the not so much still beating heart she's now keeping as a trophy.

His face was deformed from Jong's scooter, since then Mark has be called "Skidmark". As his impression against the asphalt was a giant bloody skid mark.

Sam Holmes used to be a member of James Warsaw's Hard Korps. After James was turned into a target dummy, she left the Hard Korps before they turned from government sanctioned ruffians into an actual agency. She refused to sign up again and spent the last few years getting smashed, doing opium, and mugging people in Chinatown.
After braining one of the Warsaw Corps officers in an enlistment attempt gone wrong, she was forced to choose between joining the state-sanctioned SDT and fighting to earn the government money or being branded an enemy of the state and being gunned down outside a liquor store. Sam chose to take her old Korps suit to the cleaners and get ready for the SDT.
Sam fights dirty and effectively with a lifetime of brawlin', muggin', and murderin' to back it up. Her prosthetic arm (lost it by getting too close to a fight between James and some freak) is very sturdy and quite strong, too.

It all started in the shinny happy town of Absurd Town, where Mosquito, the communist, his wife Cupcake, the bear, and his little brother Bear, the bear, lived shinny and happy. Ever since their marriage, Bear kept pestering Mosquito that he and Cupcake should go on a honey moon. However, things weren’t quite as shiny and happy as the first few words of this bio made you think: Mosquito, despite being the town mayor, did not have enough money for a honeymoon, so he decided to have his honeymoon with Cupcake to be a picknick on the train tracks, where, in a shinny and happy but fatidical day, the unimagineable happened: they were hit by a train and were dragged to Void City.
Several shiny happy days later, Bear noticed that, while Mosquito loved Cupcake very much, it were already too many days since they left and, not only he missed his role model, hero and brother, but Absurd Town also needed him: due to its mayor absence, it went from a shinny happy town to a less shinny and less happy town. Fearing for the worse, Bear, despite being young and defenseless (though he is the current champion of the Universal Wrestling Federation), decided to leave on a dangerous journey to find Mosquito...however, before he could start it, he was also hit by a train (their house also happened to be on train tracks) and also dragged to Void, where at the train garage he met Cupcake and Mosquito, who he thought to be dead, despite the fact that Mosquito was alive and talking to Bear, so Bear swore vengeance on all trains and that not shinny nor happy city called Void.
After many months, Bear finally noticed that Mosquito was alive and well, though he had lost his leg/arm/head/eye/whatever due to the accident, Cupcake was also injuried by the crash, though her condition was far better as she only lost her arm/leg/head/eye/whatever. Seeing this, the trio decided it was time for Mosquito and Cupcake to get corrective surgery to replace their arms/legs/heads/eyes/whatever, or so they thought...despite Mosquito having a near-limitless amount of money for being the mayor, his immense fortune consisted in bottlecaps, Absurd Town’s currency, which were worth squat in the menacing Void.
Feeling that it was all his fault, as it was him who told Mosquito that he should’ve run for mayor, Bear was desperate for a way to fix his brother and sister-in-law, that was when he saw a flier for the Speed of Death Tournament tournament and saw this as a sign from the heavens as he fit the basic qualification for the tournament perfectly: he had a close familly member die speedly (despite Mosquito still being alive) and thus...he joined!

Dood is a professional assassin, one of the best of a certain organization specialized in dirty and messy jobs (they're easier to cover as acts of random violence as opposed to planned assassinations). He was hired to kill a certain someone who also happens to be a potent killer and who joined the SDT, as such, Dood joins the SDT so he can kill his target without any effort to cover the whole thing up.
Dood has super strength as well as resistance. He's also highly skilled in boxing and in the use of weapons (he has a personal preference for white weapons, especially blunt ones) and more often than not prefers to use whatever he has at hand as opposed to carrying his own weapon.
His style is pretty straight forward and messy, as he usually charges his victim from the front and overpowers him/her. Despite this, he is a professional first and foremost, so if needed to, he will use firearms and traps. He also has a personal habit that he tells his victim exactly how he plans to kill him/her and if he/her can prevent the finishing blow he/she is free to go…but that never happened.
Since he is a well known and famous killer, he covers his signature scar with a band-aid, which surprisingly is enough to conceal his identity, he also makes use of a cover identity of Dude, the insurance salesman. Worth noticing is that when he's "Dude" he wears any color of suit and tie, except for black and yellow, respectively, while as "Dood" he wears only black suit with yellow tie, which he always use under Dude's clothing.
He is also addicted to cupcakes.

I was asking if it would be possible to share an updated list of folks that are already confirmed, so the people that aren't - for one reason or another, like, waiting to see who's entering or so on- would be aware of the situation and so would the people that are - I am farming for more aplicants to reach the 32 mark at least.
It's just a suggestion, would make the newcomwers and slowcomers - XD- pay attention and don't lose track on what's going on, no?

Bio: Born to a well off family in England around 1877, Lizzy lost her parents in a tragic accident when she was 9 and was sent to an orphanage. Bereft and inconsolable, Lizzy ran away and became lost in the ancient forest. Hiding in a cave she cried and cried until the voice like that of an old woman asked her what was wrong. She explained that she had lost her mother, her mother was broken, and she wanted her back. Hands stroked her hair and asked her if she was willing to do anything for her wish and Lizzy, like most children, agreed without question that she would do anything to have her mother back. The voice said that it would help her, would put her mother together again for her, but she had to collect the pieces. While she did so, the voice said, it would protect her and keep her safe. Lizzy agreed, again with the innocence of a child, and the voice stated that their bargain was struck. The creature that emerged from the cave was an ancient one, of old magic that did not acknowledge the ideas of 'good and evil' or 'right and wrong'. It's thick heavy lizard-like skin did not repel Lizzy, who never noticed that her eyes, once sparkling pools of blue, were now as black as the creature that used the two wizened human arms that were attached to its back to stroke her hair and rub the dirt from her cheeks. From then on, The Tailor would take Lizzy around from place to place carefully choosing people with the proper parts and then attack them. While The Tailor assisted the little girl in subduing the target, she was the one who had to kill them and take the part The Tailor wanted. After each collection they returned to the cave and The Tailor would carefully attached the part. At times it would grow weary from leaving its lair for so long and would sleep, taking Lizzy with it down into an enchanted slumber. Centuries past without the little girl realizing it and she has grown numb to the idea of taking lives, the desire to see her mother all that matters to her. Now, after so long, the new body for Lizzy's mother is almost complete. The Tailor has brought Lizzy to VOID to find and collect the last few pieces they need...

The policy is (loosely) that you're okay as long as we can see you're capable of drawing decent comics. Your illustrations look good, but if you've got a link to past comic work, it would definitely be in your favor to link or post it somewhere.

Grafts was badly burnt a number of years ago when an undisclosed VOID sanctioned fight spilled into his apartment building, igniting gas lines below. He suffered 3rd degree burns over the top 60% of his body. They were so bad that not even the advanced medical teams of VOID City could save his hands, which had to be amputated below the elbow. His face was also left unrecognizable by the burns. He had many skin grafts to fix his appearance as best as it could be, but he is left with almost no features... no nose, ears, eyebrows or hair. After a mysterious fire was set in the records department of the hospital where Graft was being treated, he disappeared, as did all traces of his former identity.
Flash forward several years... news of the 2010 Speed Death Tournament broke, and Graft reappeared, with a new name, new wardrobe, and a set of experimental, very powerful cybernetic hands. Not much is known about how they are powered, except that they are linked to the pack mounted on his back. The amplify his strength, though by how much is still uncertain.
Graft is here for one thing only, to take vengeance on the VOID fighters, to erase them the way he was so carelessly erased. He is now consumed with the thought of fire... and the thought of it consuming those around him, as it once did to him.

Bio: After the death of Draxx, his long-time nemesis The "O" were finally able to create the perfect fighting vessel by merging Draxx's DNA with that of their own species. In an attempt to expound on the specimen's potential and capabilities, they enlisted their "child" into the Speed Death Tournament. In doing so, they hope to acknowledge and make amends in it's physical and mental shortcomings he may have (and what the father sample had) in the realm of battle.
Abilities:
*Strength capable of enduring/lifting 6x his weight class.
*Sleek physique and unorthodox joint structure enables peak speed and agility.
*Unorthodox but textbook hand to hand,mainly to disable/stun his opponent (prefers gun play)

*His "parents" constantly provide him with an arsenal of handguns and other projectiles.The favored are his duo hand guns that emits energy rounds. the other is a light-based dagger which extends to the length of about 2 ft.... which can connect to create a gun with a more concentrated blast (sniper capabilities).
*Carries Mal-orbs that are cherry sized that can serve two purposes :the membrane can be broken an its sap works as an acidic liquid his skins immune to OR thrown and emits a concussive "belch" of the acid.
*Helmet keeps him connected with his parents. In doing so, they can relay information throughout battle.

Cole is a little magician with a secret. He's actually a wizard hiding in plain sight, his cane being his wand. It can also be used to cast spells or as A BIG STICK TO WHACK PEOPLE.
Cole grew up under the care of his father who taught him the way of wizards but unfortunately his father died testing a new spell. Now alone, Cole had to learn to fend and learn for himself. Being clever he did himself well picking up a job at a joke shop and picked up a number of 'magic' tricks. Soon he became the talk of the town with his daring stunts but then learned of a powerful wizard in a city named Void. He traveled to this city doing shows and tricks along the way hoping to meet up with the old Wizard but when Cole finally found him the Wizard told him to screw off. Disheartened Cole decided to enter the tournament vowing that if he won he would seek out the old Wizard again with a bit more to his name.
Extra: Cole is a Caracal, a species of cat that is amazing at jumping

Bio: He strikes when nobody expects it. Whether they be sipping coffee, walking down the street, or shopping for milk. All his targets ever experience is a straight brick to the face. If that doesn't work, he's very comfortable with simply stabbing you in the back. Nobody knows how he does it though, because every time he's seen he's simply a brick with an eyepatch that just sits there. Most assume that somebody from somewhere threw a brick at them, but nobody ever sees who threw it. Rest assured, when given a job the Flying Brick will see it through with lethal efficiency.
Note: The Flying Brick never talks or moves when seen. He can be thrown in someone's face or just be standing on a curb, but stuff DOES happen. Just imagine him as that pile of cash from the Geico commercials who's never seen walking or talking, but is somehow capable of doing stuff.

Personality: Normally a sweet type of flirty, she's a seducer at heart, so she'll change her style without even knowing it. But without fail, she'll get pissed and demand death to those who don't like her (tsundere types are exempt since they're liars).
Special Ability: Inducing otaku-nosebleeds. Even if they're not otakus or interested in females.
Fighting Style: She's got a great intuition for discerning a person's "type", and then finishes the job with a "Love-Love Knock-Out! <3". (J/K~) Remember, she's a lover not a fighter! And if her charms fail, she'll sic her stalkers/fanboys & girls on them. (She's got plenty to spare. And I mean PLENTY.)
History: Lust was just wandering by in her eternal quest to conquer the world by turning everyone into her loyal, fanatical minions -I mean- fans! She's already conquered the Narutards and whatever you call those Bleach-heads, so you know she's a force to be reckoned. She's hoping to surpass her even more gorgeous brother, Pride (who stole all the Twilight fans btw). There's also a lot of rumors about her being a succubus, a vagina dentata, vampire, and other ridiculous things. Seriously, the things fans like to speculate.

Derrick Tod is a Void City citizen, and one of the few people brave enough to try criminalistic rights career as a lawyer in a brute force ridden place.
As you'd expect that didn't work out for long, and Derrick moved from Criminal Law to Tort area.
Mr. Tod got incredibly wealthy from negotiating people's post life wishes such as heritages and divorces.
One of Tod's favourite hobbies is playing golf, though he being a sports person, anything will go with him. He's usually in a chilly mood.
He suffered a heart surgery two years ago, completely seamless, though ever since then he's had trouble waking up, normally terribly tired, despite sleeping 8 hours every day.
He's also got a good apartment in a noble area of the city, and a sport car.
Derrick is 32 years old.

About 17 years ago, someone had the bright idea of using time travel to bring a dinosaur to the present day. Then, he had the idea of making that dinosaur smart, so as to reason with it and engage it intelligently. After the procedure finished, the dinosaur thought about the situation, and promptly ate the scientist.
Taking the name "Mr. King," this T-rex lives in the warehouse district of Void City, using a trap-filled mannequin to trick and eat people who wander by. He's found that people are quite willing to help a damsel in distress, and uses this instinct to ensnare those chivalrous morsels in his own way of fishing.
Mr. King
Brain - He's not a genius, but he's smart enough to build, maintain, and upgrade his Missy doll. He likes to listen to the news and stay on top of current events. He can't speak anything but T-rex, lacking the vocal capacity to speak human languages. He can understand English well enough, as well as read and write, but he thinks it's generally not a good idea to talk to his food.
Brawn - He's a goddamn T-rex, what more do you want?
Missy
Brain - Semi-autonomous, Missy is programmed to call out things like "Help!" and "Please save me!" She is also able to respond to common questions with responses like "I think so..." and "I'm a little shaken up."
Brawn - She's unable to move on her own, so Mr. King has to drag her to where he wants her on a line, then leave her stationary to capture prey. She's filled with a number of traps, including knockout gas, nets, hidden blades, and all other sorts of nasty things.

Just graduated from 6th Celestial Sphere Community College, a well connected relative of Sam just hooked her up with a government social service job, to give her a head start. The job in question; "Terrestrial Guidance Counselor". It's Sams job to make sure things go as they should on earth, tweaking and pushing reality in the most subtle ways to help mortals get through the difficult trial that is life.
Angels can't survive in terrestrial atmosphere, and so must wear a diving suit to observe their client and their clients situation. The illusion of angelic flight is simply the angel hanging by their breathing tube; what appears to be wings are emergency air tanks filled with enough air for several hours. In fact even the halo itself is simply a radio beacon so that guidance counselors on duty can keep in contact with their Aid upstairs. Angels cannot manipulate the fabric of reality naturally, and use a small but powerful tool called an Archube (Ar - cube) to do their work.
Unfortunately, Sam's not too thrilled about her new job, and her dispassion translates catastrophically to her work. Sam lacks finesse and foresight when altering reality, often require hundreds of changes and rewinds before ending up with a satisfactory result. Even then she never checks the butterfly effect of her changes, which almost always results in a terrible mess sooner or later.

The good news: the five pages I've finished tell a tidy, complete story on their own.

Everyone should vote on EVERY COMIC.
There are a ton of good ones out there right now (including the non-SDT ones) and a lot of them are super close (we're talking near 50/50)
I would say, if you have any time at all, go through and read though them all, and vote. It would mean a lot to quite a few of us. And if you have a lot of time, why not leave a critique or two? For several of us, this is big, and we put a lot of effort into it all.

ROUND ONE of The Speed Death Tourney is Over!!!
Deadline for Round Two Submissions is Feb. 21 at Midnight.
Round One of the SDT is now over and the streets of VOID are thick with the blood and corpses of the fallen. The fans are well pleased and VoidCity Publics Works is less than thrilled.
It was a very exciting round full of strong matchups and an equally strong showing overall. Very few Artists went down easy, bringing all they could muster in the painfully short time before the Deadline. In fact viewers seemed to have difficulty in selecting a winner in some instances; with Perca vs. AmazingDavid and RolFQ v.s RedRevolver running neck and neck all the way to the final moments of voting.
We also had a literal tie in the match between Amaloo vs. MichealHarris, with the result that both Artists will enter into the next tier against another Round Winner in a 3-way match.....quite the surprise for the second round.
As in other years, we also saw an increased number of first time Artists join to take part in this Artist and Fan Favorite Event. So everyone give a warm welcome to all those new Artists who managed to complete this grueling trail by fire and enter the Ranks.......and a consoling yet arousing liniment backrub to those who crashed and burned.
But don't forget to welcome back some of the rarely seen faces that returned for thier pound of flesh. This years tourney saw the return of VOID's proud poppa Gabe as well as old-school member and VOID's illegimate son Dan, enter into the trenches thirsty for new blood.
I am sure we are all looking forward to the next round of the Speed Death Tourney, 'Good Luck' to those stalwart adventure seekers who made it onto the next tier. Your corpse-hungry fans impatiently await the next trip into the slaughterhouse.....and you aren't all taking the ride back afterwards.
'Hooray' for the Survivors. 'Rest in Peace' for the Dead....and 'Go to Hell' everyone who defaulted.

What I meant was, because of the double default, the matches and numbers are uneven.
First round was 24 people on 24 people (48 contestants). Second round was 11 on 11 and 1 3-way because of the tie (24 contestants). Now it's uneven though, so I thought it would be 4 2-person battles and I assumed a 3 way (11 contestants)... since there was a 3-way last time... and next round would be uneven too (5 contestants) so if there was another 3-way and a 2-person battle it would be 1 on 1 for the final.
Why would 1 person get to sit out? That doesn't seem fair... and what is the basis for Gabe being the one to sit out? Wouldn't it just go down the line like before? and he would fight Amaloo?
If you ARE going to let someone have a free round off, it should be whoever got most points this round or something, that way they would kind of earn it... but even that is REALLY lame. No one should get a freebee when no one else does should they?

I'm sorry but I wanna voice my displeasure at this because it just seems kinda dumb. Maybe I say that because I have two dead characters now that I wouldn't mind resurrecting (if that's even possible for me) but the SRT, if you think about it, only resurrects one guy per year, if even that since I'm not even sure if it's a yearly event. Yeah you can limit resurrections by the usual means but one guy a year I don't think is a very big deal. I don't know what you guys say behind closed doors but that's just my two cents.

As fun as characters are, remember that they aren't really the main point of Void. Yeah, we get attached to particular stories and fighters, but if you lose one, it's much more productive to move forward and develop new work. If you really feel like you've got something special, feel free to develop the idea further, either on-site with Beyond Battles or Stand-Alone Comics, or off-site with a web-comic (see the brilliant FUSE comic for one such example of this!).
The main point of Death Matches is to have bite. If you lose, you lose, and that's the end of the character. The easier it is to fight this inevitability, the less bite the challenge has. The same goes for Scar Matches and Special Events. If there wasn't any risk, they would lose all the fun!

I would hope at the very least if we ever did another SRT it would not happen the same year as the SDT since that kind of cheapens it.
There's always room for more tournaments that aren't SRT, people are always more than welcome to make their own if they want more tournaments and events.

It ALL stems from the same root cause - the double default. Ordinarily, we'd cancel such a comic, but since this was a tournament and there'd have been questions, it was posted for Voting anyway.
On top of that, the scripts are designed to treat ties as a win for both parties, thus creating a scenario in which a double-default counts as a win.
What's more, only losing characters are automatically killed in a Death Match, but since this counted as a win, both remain alive.
Yet another script automatically pulls all data data on completed comics, dishing out Awards as seen fit. All signs pointed to these two getting the Award, so they did.
Now, I've got to clean up at least three separate messes - the Comic, the Characters, and the Awards. Maybe tonight, now that I'm been reminded.
