THE INCUBATOR / The Doc is in
« on: Dec 15, 2018, 11:52 PM »

Alright! Finally throwing Hale in the incubator because I’ll be needing some feed back on his office/home and what nots.

About him:
He’s been around long enough to watch the world turn shittier and shittier. It’s cramped, people are poor, and the entitled are able to leave Earth to other colonized worlds. Although regarded as a priority citizen due to his extensive knowledge in the medical field, he has declined going off world numerous time to aid the vast and crowded city of Void.

Well studied in pathology before he was unwillingly turned, he has been able to hone his skill even further by use of vampirism. He is capable of detecting disease by tasting a patient’s blood. Chemical imbalances, blood gases, unstable cell production- all can be diagnosed with just a taste. To decrease contamination, he has altered his fangs with a special anti-septic carbon coating.

All are welcomed to receive treatment in his office/home, so long as they sign a contract that relinquishes their body to him after they have expired. Payment is blood donation.

Hale is reaching close to 200 years of age and as such, has had time to dabble in other fields such as nano tech and cybernetics. To keep the bills paid, he fulfills contracts for both.

Because of the nature of his job and knowledge, he has a powerful security system that includes its own hologram assistant. Hale’s assistant is modeled after his late daughter Isabelle Didreich (Izzy). Her personality and memories have been downloaded into the program. She controls the security systems and medical equipment as well as greets/manages patients. She’s also constantly updated with Hale’s research so he can bounce ideas off of her. Her preferred mode of travel is phasing in/out of rooms. Izzy refers to Hale as “Pops” when patients are not around.

Visor: Hale is not protected from the sun. He developed the visors to produce a protective barrier between his skin and solar rays. His security program is also integrated in the visors as well as a hologram emitter to bring Izzy with him

Heeey I’m gonna drop out of this because the next few weeks are going to be busy as heck and I dont wanna drop the ball on a jam 😬

I want iiiinnnnnn

Anyone wanna showdown with Satari before she gets ded?

Two week deadline AT LEAST please for the love of everything that's holy.

I definitely am a firm believer of the "show don't tell" philosophy, especially if you take your story telling medium into consideration.

HOWEVER. As the definition you've pulled states, exposition is there to explain some info that may or may not be easy to understand- and I think that should be heavily pondered over. Because you know what's a difficult concept to SHOW other people? How your brain works.

I think in order to be able to give the right amount of exposition without beating information over people's heads, for me, is finding that fine line between what information *I* know versus how much information the audience needs to know. I know that plot A goes here, here, and here. What I need to ask myself is: what information do I need to provide to my audience without a wall of text (provided that I'm working in comic format) that plot A goes here, here, and here? And I feel like the only way to improve this understanding of how much information to provide is to tell more stories and take note of your feedback. Did you loose your audience? Did your audience feel like they read too much text instead of seeing what the visuals have to say? Could I have maybe considered a different color palette do express some scenes better? Could I have used different objects, focal points, or altered anything to convey my story better?

I don't know. Just my thoughts!

Name: Satari
Age: 22
Sex: F
Height: 5'2" / 6'2"
Weight:120 lbs / 210 lbs
Race: Vampire/Werewolf Hybrid

Satari is a hunter by nature, and those skills have been honed and perfected to make her one of the best snipers planet Earth has to offer. She rarely strays from orders and is typically assigned to small groups exploring outer planets for resources. Although she's only there to complete objectives, the groups she's normally with greatly appreciate her skill, patience, and her protection.

  • Remarkable sniper. Can stay in the same position for 24+ hours
  • Great sense of smell and hearing
  • Can heal a little faster than a healthy human

  • She requires a a daily injection to suppress her rage that triggers transformation to her monster form. She typically takes it when she's ready to sleep as it makes her drowsy and completely relaxed as opposed to her hyper alert state.
  • Because of her half undead nature, she requires some sort of blood product every couple of days or she is lethargic. She typically consumes raw meat to sustain herself.
  • Her monster form is a mass of uncontrollable rage and a killing machine. Regardless if friend or foe, if she transforms, she will go on a murder spree until her blood lust is satiated.

And now for some 2010 arts!

I'm gonna go ahead and pull myself out of this. As much as I don't want to, I've been working tons  and haven't had a lot of drawing time. :/

Suuuper quicky colored doodle of Aurora's... and well, all Arkadian satyr's mommas! The Goddess Gaia herself. Satyrs are incapable of breeding, as are other mythological creatures, and they require Gaia to produce the members of their race. When the creature has lived their life, they are returned to the soil from whence they came. Also there's baby Aurora!
