Been a while since I updated my Topic, thought I'd post some recent stuff.

Drew this ninja sort of freehand on a co-workers helmet.

Elvis...'nuff said

For a friend's band. He requested an emblem of a cymbal monkey that emulates Sons of Anarchy.

Thanks folks, you're too kind!

The skateboards are just something I did for myself. I found my brother’s old boards, painted them white, and drew on them with markers. I have a couple more planned.

They look pretty good in my living room, but I wouldn't be opposed to selling them.

Hey man, you're coming along pretty well.

Good shots there, I like how each one tells a little story. My fav is the woman in the window. The snake tat is rad, too bad it cropped so close.

A few of these could use some more varied line thickness. You might also want to try feather in some lines to create some depth/definition/shadows, it will help to make your art not look so flat (especially if you don't plan on colouring). Some hand-size problems in a couple of the first few, but you get better towards the bottom ones.

Don't be afraid of using a ruler either ;)

Very nice! I love the levels of detail, I can't stop staring.

One criticism, you should write down phone numbers and passwords somewhere else... I'm going to try calling a few of those.

Here's some Wildlife!

This Grim Reaper is a work in progress. I have the figure done, but I've got a lot more planned for the background.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I took your suggestion ROFLQU and I did a self portrait and put some greys/shadows in and it came out pretty good I think.

Wolverine is a shadow exercise in progress.

The devil is just a doodle.

Hey thanks Angieness, thats high praise!

I've been trying to force myself to the next level for what feels like a long time now.

I do get to do a lot of drawing at work but it's for a certain demographic, lets just say it's cartoony. I felt like I lost my edge and I'm doing my darndest to produce some actual work to be proud of.

Hey Hey, I've been on a big black and white kick lately and I thought I'd share my drawings.

I do so many colourful images for work so experimenting with just B+W has been a lot of fun.

Some things will be complete, some just works in progress. Some are pen and paper, some are digital.

I'd like to hear what you guys think!

Been awhile since I posted anything.

I've been feeling rather nostalgic for the last couple of weeks or so. Felt compelled to draw something that I haven't drawn in a few years.

Maybe if you're lucky I'll be motivated to post more.

Lot's of young'uns coming round these parts. Welcome to entervoid.com people born post 1990. My name is chunk and I shall now be your surrogate father. I'm going to be fatherly and give some advice to my new childrens.

I know you want to rush and submit a character as soon as possible, but...

REMEMBER THE THREE P'S WHEN DESIGNING/SUBMITTING CHARACTERS!
(which I just came up with)

Practise, Patience, Positivity

PRACTISE your art and drawing your character. The best way to get better with art is to practise. The best way to create a character is to draw your ideas over and over again constantly until you can draw your char spot on. You'll have more time with the char and they will probably evolve into better characters because of it. Please post your concepts in the INCUBATOR for everyone to see and pass their opinions and offer new drawing techniques. You should also practise your sequentials with a focus on readablity and flow...then try doing some dynamic pannels.

PATIENCE is a virtue. Take your time and stop fidgeting. I know you want to go and rush to make a void character, but you'll have a monumentally better chance of having your character accepted if you take your time and draw to the best of your ability. And for god's sake read the submission standards before uploading anything. Remember when you do submit something, it isn't automatically accepted. The busy group that judges your acceptance may take awhile. Don't take it personal.

POSITIVITY will be the essential factor as to wether or not you are Void material. Having a character declined is not a bad thing. It doesn't mean you aren't liked. Don't think you're "not good enough". For some reason or another you did not meet everyones standards. It means that you'll have to bite your lip and try again. Take the advise of your Void peers on how to improve your submission for better chances. Stay positive!

Alright, now you know. This welcome message is entirely too long.

Hey, welcome to Void to you new peeps.

hey mcmanus, What kind of stuff do you have in your collection? I heard that Johnny Depp had a self portrait done by John Wayne Gacy as Pogo the Clown...He got way creeped out by it and got rid of it.

From a discount bin at a Canadian grocery store called Loblaws.

you can come all the way up here...but the cost of gas wouldn't compensate for the deal...although If you did come I could make some BBQ pork...

either way, it was still the last one in the bin :P

this site is predominantly a comic site, so coming up with some characters or fanarts would be a good start. If you want to create a charcter for Battle you should read the FAQ - http://entervoid.com/FAQ.php

OK, the jist of submitting a fighter:

a two (2) page into comic. Introducing your character, or how they get to void city or whatever...

3 single page poses.  A "win" pose a "lose" pose and most importantly a Design Sheet. the desing sheet is used by other artists for reference when drawing your character in battle.

Try and come up with a good bio too.

Post character concepts on The Incubator section of the forums for feedback. Good luck.

El Stylo Central is where you post your unfinished art, rough drawings, concepts...that junk. Ask for crits and you will recieve.

Go For Broke is where you want to put your finished works on display for viewing and critique.

And The Incubator...which is where we are now... is where you can post your new character concepts for fighter development. Other artists on the site will give their opinions and feedback. Also you should post your poses and intro pages here. You'll have a better chance of getting your character accepted if they are reviewed and refined here first.

Once again...welcome to VOID.

Welcome aboard new-guys

pretty young diz, you shouldn't be so self conscious about your artwork. I'm glad you did decide to join up. You should post your work so other artists can tell you where to improve in your drawings...You too chibi! I think generally that someone won't get any better at drawing unless they show someone else (especially another artist) to get feedback. That's what this section of the board is for.
