Title: Tarot Card Jam NSFW
Post by: Video320 on Oct 04, 2012, 10:28 PM
I've recently became interested tarot cards. So I thought it'd be fun to do a jam, assigning 1 of the 22 main arcana (the heriophant, the fool, the lovers etc ) to your or another's character. I'll start it off with Jules Saphir as The Hermit.

EXPLANATION: Xia is 'The Fool'. Driven by her need to explore, Xia leaves her home and travels to gain entertainment and excitement in her life, ignorant of the consequences this may bring in her travels.

Andy’s card is Strength.

The positives associated with this card are: courage, patience, control, compassion

Negatives: Weakness, self-doubt, lack of self-discipline

Master Hakase's card is Temperance. Hakase follows two diametrically opposed ideologies; martial arts, which practices tradition and discipline, and science, which practices progression and innovation. As a master of the Martial Sciences, Hakase maintains harmony between both; he is driven by science's need to explore and progress, while maintaining a traditional set of ethics through martial arts.

Kuno's card is The Hanged Man. Although she was built to obey her programming and maintain perfect form through an index of predetermined information, Kuno cannot truly become "a perfect fighter" unless she learns to think beyond her protocols. She must be able to see combat as more than a set of equations to achieve the focus and discipline required to utilize the Chakra Engine.

The Devil indicates any sort of addiction or obsession, something with which we can tend to get "carried away", to the point of losing control over our actions. It signifies sexual desires, uncontrolled energy, running amok.

Yes Millions, there usually 78 cards all together (22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor ) so we'd need 78 artists who'd want to do it.  I looked around some sites and it looks like custom tarot decks aren't cheap.

Both Koosh Koosh and Beo will be minor acarna and not repeats! (unless someone takes Knight of Swords and Page of Wands before them haha)

Post by: Angie on Oct 31, 2012, 11:16 AM
A downloadable digital deck would be more realistic and would cost nothing. Just a master zip with all the cards in it would be best if we go through with it. It would also be good if we made a list of the cards that have been done.

I was thinking of going with minor arcana too. (Either ten of cups or king of cups.... ten is more appropriate meaning-wise, but king sounds cooler... haha) no one else wants to do those, right? :)

This is on my to do list for first thing after holidays! Heads up to you people dibsing, Lady V is going to be the Empress and while Johnny fits so well as The Fool, I think I might do something different and make him a Knight of swords. I don't mind if these end up as repeats though.

BAMF. FINALLY.

"With Aquarius as its ruling sign, The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing, even unexpected help to offer us sustenance in bleak times. The question the Star makes us ask ourselves: What do we want bad enough that we will go the distance for it? The answer will tell us as much about what we are as what we could be."

Upright: A headlong rush into life, a strong man, bravery, a skillful and clever person, an unexpected coming or going of a matter
Reverse: Tyranny, a troublemaker, a crafty and secretive person

Possibly the only card that fit him both ways round. It looks like swords will be popular if solely due to the fact that they are more oriented around conflict.

Badger, I love love LOOOOOVE yours! Freakin' gorgeous!

Now for some not-so-anticipated Fremmy: THE LOVERS.

What it means to pull the Frank and Emmelia "The Lovers" Tarot Card:
Romance is complicated, there's no question. Sometimes we feel out of control of our feelings, and our heart runs away, leaving behind our sensibilities. Sometimes it's a good experience, sometimes it's bad. Love knows no bounds, and these lovers are particularly boundless.

When in Balance: Your love is fierce, so much so it may be frightening to others. Go along with it, embrace your partner and celebrate your wild passion and intimacy, and let others watch in envy. Your love is in balance, and that burning happiness is ecstasy.

When out of Balance: Dissatisfaction is lingering amongst you and your partner. Consider what you or they might be missing, and pursue new experiences together. Worst case scenario, your heart has run too far and your rational mind needs time to catch up. Detach, meditate, and rediscover parts of yourself. A truly loving partner will still be waiting when you return.

Ethan Morgan / Eldritch is still in progress and hasn't quite joined the Void-verse yet, but the jam inspired me and I belted this one out. Here's Eldritch as The World tarot card.

"The World represents an ending to a cycle of life, a pause in life before the next big cycle. The figure is suspended between heaven and earth." Perfect for him for reasons to be seen in his backstory and what he can do.
