You did it twice in a row and this one\'s even better then the last comic and both are better then the last time you battled on Void. You have really grown behind the scenes.
I like the setup you used for the fight, leading and pacing has been one of my favvourite things and you display it quite well. Your inking is clear and sharp, however, i wish you used some line weights here and there to make the depht stand out a tad more. The action sequences were well choreographed, the little ammount of debris fits your style. I couldn\'t quite understand the random furry comments/insults, it came off as an inside joke shared with a group of people. The way you drew Seel\'s monstrous is also worth the points.
-Dingo
In the past two years we\'ve lost touched you too have surpassed your previous work in rapid time. You managed to pull off 12 pages in two weeks full colour. Didn\'t bother me too much that there was no story. This is a tournament, not the Fairy Queen of Void. The asskicking entertains me as much as a good story, to me it was illustrated clearly that Seel is a bored cunt.
I like the pace your picking up with Kreepy.
The web, the slaughter, the brutal face grind and the chain blocking the sword was a combo of jawdrops on my side. Good work. I like the blood smudges and the shading you use. I\'d reccomend you blur or darken shading on the clothing. Cuz the shading on Ayuimi in the web makes her look like her clothes are all wet. The dynamics are a keeper! Those berserker chains never bore me either.
Girls you\'ve inspired the shit outta me.
Now stop the cheat fuss and kick ass!

I think i\'m actually beginning to get tired from delivering the amount of praise i need to dish out lately. Seel\'s my girl. Consistant awesomeness and this battle is no different. Dingo whipped out some major skill and FULL COLOR ACTION on this. Sometimes i find it hard to even finish a black and white comic... so i gots crazy respect for full color.
HOWEVER... shortfury\'s battle is a whole new level of awesomeness on sheer pacing and characterisation alone. and then she just has to go and throw in AMAZING artwork to rub it in. so the Fury gets the edge even if just by a little bit.
man.. i need to lie down now. over excitement.

The details in your comic were simply beautiful shorty...fantastic. Pleasing to read. I come away impressed.
Lots of effort shown here Dingo, some pannels were amazing...overall it didn\'t catch me as much as Mar\'s though...was anyone else turned on by page 6? heh...
So yeah, I gave the very slight edge to shortfury, but there are high-fives all around!

i gave shortfury an A in quality for the last panel alone. that chicks face is fire. there were some parts in both that i personally didn\'t like but nothing big enough that it needs to be pointed out. just little story bits. overall both fights were great and i was entertained by both so i voted very closely on this one. chow.
oh i do think that shortfury was more fair in depiction of Seels character than vice versa. i think her story was well balanced with both characters getting a voice whereas in seel\'s fight it was just one sided domination.

Guuh... I hate seeing these comments that suggest cheating. I read both of the comics. I judged fairly. I liked Seel\'s comic just a tad more... so I\'d like to believe that Seel is winning without the help of baised fans, but I know how it goes on void sometimes. There\'s quite a few battles with scores that make me wonder D:
Anyways, you both did pretty good. Pat yourselves on the back.

Holy fricken shift. I really couldn\'t decide which was better. Both comics had unique styles. I had to give both of you the same grades. :|
shortfury: Awesome style. Very creative. You\'re a definite person I\'ll look over more often.
Seel: Your style was, as always, great. Same for your creativity with the story.
This battle is a tight choice. Kudos to the winner. :b

It\'s strange to critique work that outclasses my own, and it\'s something I like to avoid but seeing how crucial this battle is I hope you both will forgive me.
Shortfury: Your comic definately had more substance to it as far as story goes. I partially wonder if there wasn\'t a subcontext to it, but I enjoyed the fact that you portrayed your opponent fairly - even allowing Seel to have the upperhand for a while. When I draw comics I always feel that more color and shading = more detail but your work simply proves that wrong. It\'s simple, clean and yet extremely detailed and expressive. I was a little annoyed that Chip was in there. He\'s a hot character (strangely his sexiness translates no matter who draws him) but he is apparently everywhere lately. What\'s up with that?
Seel: Your art as always was a pleasure to look at, but the story left much to be desired. It could be a combination of how bored your character was and how much you underestimated and poorly portrayed your opponent. On the plus side, I was impressed and entertained by the sheer violence you depicted. It looked painful. But overall there just wasn\'t any lasting impact.
I voted very similarly for your both, but there was a gaping difference in the entertainment factor.

and ifrit184 there was no conspiricy in the slade fight there were blatantly cheated votes which when taken away ment i won. Its a sad state of affairs that this sort of thing even has to be discussed. Alas as void grows more popular the votes beocme more corrupt.

Goat, I understand that you\'re probably just caught up in heated situation and felt like sayin\' something, but yeah in the future, do not make too much of assumptions when saying things in public place. it seems you\'re actually capable in making well-thought up comments, but using ranks as a main reason for argument is not a good one, since ranks doesn\'t measure talent (from defaults, for example).
For everyone, when rating comics in this site, kindly rate what\'s served in front of you after actually reading both of the battles rather than looking at the ranks or some miniscule details. If it\'s not your cup of tea, then fine, but just rate the comics accordingly.
I\'m also saying this to admins, whenever things go wrong or feels wrong, probably a good idea to not bring it up in comments section. Just discreetly do it in the background and confront the real problem/people involved rather than insinuating things in comment box, it will never go anywhere.
Probably we should present facts when it\'s needed. Insinuating vague reasons wouldn\'t really help, especially if it\'s seen by regular readers, it\'s just feel like \"whoa what the hell is going on here?\" and it\'ll leave people wondering and frustated/offended/whatever take your choice.

Can\'t help but notice a sense of paranoia recently when it comes to voting... it seems like whenever someone who has been around for a very long time (Kure_ji_ori, Marley) doesn\'t completely dominate whoever they\'re up against (Slade13, Dingo), and those people HAPPEN to have a presence on DeviantArt... OMG Conspiracies!!!
Seriously. Can we please wait until there\'s SOME MEASURE OF PROOF before we go around trashing other artists and demeaning their performance by accusing them of cheating? You (Dan, Lune) happen to think Marley completely and totally dominated Dingo, otherwise you wouldn\'t be so incredulous at a 1-2% spread, and that this MUST MEAN CHEATING, OMGOMGOMG. But please show an example of clear cheating before you go tarnishing an otherwise epic fight.
Any votes where one person got 3 As and the other got Ds should obviously be voided if it\'s happening, and the person who voted that way should be given a pinecone enema. But unless that shit is positively rampant, don\'t sling mud at Dingo just because Marley isn\'t dominating as much as you think she should.

As for crits, Id say that Seels was fairly well drawn, but appeared a bit wonky in a few places, namely faces appeared to be odd shapes at times, like jelly beans with features. Also noticable is the fact that after page one, backgrounds completely disappeared altogether. That really tok away from it. I mean, the page one backgrounds were somewhat simple, but they still added a lot of depth and atmosphere that all went away in favor of color fills, blurry lines and gradients. Thoese are cool some times, but I would have liked to see mroe backgrounds worked in to make it feel more complete. Even though it was colored, the lack of depth still showed through. Also, I thought the word bubbles looked rather sloppy comparitively. I would have liked to seen then done a bit better, with less huge out of place looking text. They just didnt seem to fit, to me that is.
Marleys fight is one of her best, in my opinion. Humor was thrown in evenly, so it wasnt boring, but not too funny and not serious. It wasntl colored... I would have LOVED to seen it colored.... but then again, looking at your black and white stuff now, I see it more and more, and like it more and more that way, and not colored. Leave coloring to James. I liked that there were backgrounds constantly, thats always ben a strong suite for you. The cameos and story were really cool, as well as the dialouge. And the fight itself really had a sense of action and movement to it, which is important for fight scenes to have. Seels fight had that too, but not as much. Many of the actions in that fight seemed like we had just missed them, and were seeing right AFTER they had finished when no one is moving anymore.

Seel, great work as usual dollface, sorry I gotta join the story boat though, that doesn\'t take away from the quality of the work however. I just didn\'t quite get why she changed so randomly yanno?

Shorty: Another cameo...? I could do without them honestly. But You put a ton of details and action into this fight, but storywise you\'ve got my vote. What can I say honestly? This is one of the best fights I\'ve seen from both gal artists. Whoever wins this will probably clame this tourney.
Seel: Your colors are sexilant, but I\'m with gabe, next time you gotta add more story into this, not enough to overshadow the action though.
It was difficult to chose, but storywise: Marley has my vote.

Hmmm both stories didnt grab me, some say ayumis was super, dif people dif things i suppose. i think ayumi improved her execution of the fight scene this time. The visual story telling was pretty good for both, but i think seels was more exciting, though ayumi\'s basics anatomy/structure/backgrounds were better done. I gave the edge to seel though because at the end of the day her story felt slightly more entertaining. the other categories were basically very similar.
Was good work both of ya.

Dingo\'s story was a bit too straight forward, but that was about the only think i\'d point out.

seel, damn, you had some crazy shit going on with yers and the colors were fab.
i was a bit disapointed though that you didnt add a lil more story to it, but oh well.
ayumi gets my vote for pure amazing storytelling, not only sequentially but script wise.

Reading this battle I cant help but read Ayumi\'s over and over again. I really felt the pictures move because of the pacing, and the dialogue was well placed. This is a hallmark in sequential execution where all the factors worked together and it felt like one cohesive asskicking machine. There were only very few and far between moments where there is a chink in the armor and those have been mentioned. Its just a shame that the visual quality is being dwarfed by seel\'s but it\'s the best I\'ve seen from you yet. Storywise I am edged, my new media teacher totally thinks im interested in the lecture.
and Seel , man you guys are crazy. While there is a wonderful effort here with the visuals I feel that Ayumi\'s lines and consistent composition (backgrounds, tone etc) left no holes in the back of my head. I\'m a line guy, so that\'s my bias, and lines afterall are the foundation to the pictures; but if you can stand to improve those areas then there will be very little that can stand up to your work.

Okay, welps, in the end, I gave Shortfury just the slightest edge, \'cause your story was really on its own. I can officially say I have a heart-on for your stuff Shortie, that last panel made me whibble.
Seel, fuck, I really loved the effort you displayed, so many colours!! It was a little more \'bland\' in terms of story, but I\'ll be damned if I didn\'t enjoy it. Good job!

Mar, you never cease to amaze me- I am in awe and my confidence in you was totally right on!
WONDERFUL art, wonderful story and a great style to boot! I was totally into it the whole time and you even left me off with wanting to know what happens! WONDERfUL PACING- it was said already, but the only ONLY flaw was said about the furry getting killed- no woop! AWSOME AWSSOME all around.
Seel, Nice coloring duder! I feel like you didnt push yourself as much as marley. but then again- I don\'t know you as well so I won\'t assume. Your humans need some work in thier faces, they tend to look a little wonky and disproportionate. I enjoyed all the details you toss in- like those chains- SHIET. I love that. I\'d totally on go on longer- but I feel it\'s been said already. AWSOME all around to you as well.
I see this will be a close on. So Good luck to both of you ladies.

Shortfury - Straight A\'s. The pannling was lovley, the pace was awsome, and your story kept me intersted right to the very end. ya better win this, or if you dont, contiune it in a BB - cos i want to see what goes next.
My only real objection was on page 12 - the top 2 pannels are confuisng, as it tranistions a bit too quickly, and made it look like Ayumi had killed the furry. thats about all i have to gripe on though, as the battle was otherwise awsome.. and your backgrounds are win.
Dingo - Great battle, but i think it woulda helped if you had avoided doing the 2 pinup images so close to each other - good as they were, they really threw the overall feel of the comic to me. Otherwise, great comic, although i felt a bit like you had an intersitng premise that you didnt captilise on - i would have liekd to see a bit more on Seel fighting the anti-seel to regain control rather than just faisngin in and out like that. Still a cool batttle.
Great times all round, but as i siad - my vote goes to Shortfury. keep kicking ass!
My only real objection was on page 12 - the top 2 pannels are confuisng, as it tranistions a bit too quickly, and made it look like Ayumi had killed the furry. thats about all i have to gripe on though, as the battle was otherwise awsome.. and your backgrounds are win.
Dingo - Great battle, but i think it woulda helped if you had avoided doing the 2 pinup images so close to each other - good as they were, they really threw the overall feel of the comic to me. oh man....i....can\'t stop reading your comic XD;; i just keep reading it over and over and over god that was so AWESOME.
first off, i LOVE how you draw seel. i love it when people get creative with her design. and....uhg the ear tweaking thing was so damn cute T^T
the other thing that really got my attention is how you actually mentioned how weak seel\'s arms are...i don\'t think anyone (including myself...) has used that in a comic yet XD
i also really loved how you incorporated the giant spike tail from my last fight XD
uhhhmmmmm i don\'t know what else to say. that was just too fucking awesome. i\'m gunna go read it a few more times (B~

Oh my goodness. Both of you, brilliant work.
Seel, I give you credit for making all the pages in color and all those awesome chain maneuvers.
Shortfury, your inking is really nice, and the backgrounds were wonderful.
