Biography

Age: What is age?
Height: Generally 10 feet tall, but can be much taller.
Weight: Heavy, it lacks a real form being a nightmare, but it gives the impression of weight with its actions

The Burnished Centipede is a rather unusual phenomenon. It came to exist from nothing, as it is a physical representation of a nightmare. A flawed dream. It emerges from an obsidian and gold door surrounded by black mold that appears from seemingly nowhere, bringing into existence its room. The room itself has a black and white grid inside and simply feels safe to be around. Almost desirable. If you're cold, it appears warm. Too hot and it's breezy. Plagued by darkness, and it's a shining beacon. Be enamored by it's calming voice, it almost seems safe.

Don't enter.

What on earth is it?: The Burnished Centipede is an ambush predator that craves your spine. It desires it, and only wishes to remove it from your body, and let the centipedes that live inside its cloak devour the remains. Not that there's nothing else in that garment, it is absolutely packed with a seemingly endless supply of jet black centipedes of varied sizes and immense determined strength. It summons semitransparent invertibrates, who use their acidic mucous to soften your tissue so to more easily extract your spine.

Some people have reported seeing it in their dreams. But can it harm you there? Some of them even have seen it out of the corner of their eye after dreaming about it. Some of them dissapear forever.

Personality: It's very determined and single minded. Basically shrugs off attacks. It seems very calm about the task it intends to execute. Although it doesn't seem to enjoy being called an insect. It will converse with you if you attempt it instead of immediately fleeing, but it's responses are simple and short. The Burnished Centipede actually seeked out the Void, and no one knows why...

From what urban myths could be gathered about this, its only link to the world is the door it emerges from. Some say if you close the door while it is outside of it, it simply ceases to be. Magic and physical damage can slow it down, but not for long. If it gets back in the room, and shuts the door, it seems to reset. But ... closing the door behind it, could it be that simple? Although... could it come back?
