AW YES some gunfire vs hand/magic. I don't know why but I thoroughly enjoy match-ups like this! The way in which you make use of line art to incorporate different points in each of your works is worth honorable mentions in each of the reviews.

Knomer:

The line weight combined with the action adds a nice flow in between the action and the text. The way in which the characters line up with the camera also is an interesting touch; the opening panels have key wide shots that make me 'feel' like I'm in the scene experiencing this alongside Alma, before the action begins, creating a sense of homly-ness that is conveyed fairly quick within the span of one page. I would love to see how selling a witches head goes down, and that end makes me wonder how many other trophies or merch this guy plans on getting through this tournament

Cats:

Again, line art is a key point I want to address between you all. The incorporation of the hair towards the end as a substitution for borders is a wonderful touch, fully immersing me into the " He is totally gonna die by hair". Also the use of color within your work helps create more of an urgency within the final panels and constricts the reader as we watch Jung Hon get wrecked.

Both of your guys's works create a great sense of pacing and narrative in regards to how these two began to start fighting and end their squabble appropriately. Good work y'all!

KNOMER: I think the pages clearly show your skill as an artist and I love how well you make the characters move, but the last page just doesn't feel up to par with the rest of the comic. The faces are kinda wonky and the linework just isn't as confident.
The ending is interesting albeit rather sudden and I would have liked to see Alma get at least a hit or two in, so she seemed more of a threat.

CATS:  I like the set up and atmosphere of the black market, seems like a place that fits all the weirdness going on in Void. I really like how you made sure to turn the sketchy style clear and readable with your use of blacks and gradients. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the way you did the hair magic, sometimes it works really well other times it doesn't. Maybe if she had retained one constant haircolour throughout the whole comic it would have worked better for me, or if you had made a better transition from normal hair to magic hair

Them hair witches. Can't trust em. CATS Are you familiar with Endling from Deviant Art? Your style is reminiscent of theirs! Good work keep it up!!

Both of these were superb! But KNOMER I felt like most of the scene was spent on front of a blizzard. Your lines were marvelous and the whole thing flowed well.

Knomer: These are the best unfinished sketches I have seen so far, I really like the poses and action you did with this. I really liked the dialogue on page 4, I fully understood his character just with the dialogue in this one page It was simple dialogue but has just enough in it to give off his personality. Also the death was really unique by having the head still talk before getting trapped and her not realizing she’s dead.

Cats: I really like the style you have and the battle flowed really well. Also the death was really well done and pretty cool. Story wise the fight felt really arbitrary and jung ho was a really incompetent salesmen there. It would have made more sense for Alma to escalate to violence had she already told him no like 1 or 2 times and he kept pitching to her insisting she buy some guns or knives, His opening was a terrible pitch and would have made more sense to say after a couple no’s. It’s also important to realize when to stop trying to sell to someone and it is well before you start throwing knives at them or shooting them. That’s just my random pickiness from working sales but overall the escalation into the fight didn’t really work for me.

Knomer: love your style! The lines are thin yet they are expressive and have a really nice sense of flow and movement. I really liked the pacing of it, too.

Cats: Page 3 is my favourite! I enjoyed how dynamic that page is along with the visual flow. Love the facial expressions you had throughout the comic as well!

this one needs more love guys!!

knome, you've got superb draftsmanship and I honestly think this is one of the best looking comics this tourney. with a little more time I think you'd be unstoppable. loved the handling of the characters, love the death, wanna see more comics from you.

cats, this is also really good! I honestly don't have too much to add. sure maybe it's unfinished, but it's very clean and readable with enough structure that it feels fine as is. good job!

@knomer: always a pleasure to have you pop back in to make more comics! I didn't expect the way this comic ended, and that really made it for me. Your art was really sparse and could have definitely used your signature heavy blacks and just more detail in general. What you did have was well drawn, especially your backgrounds. I just could have used more. It was a fun story that could have used a bit more character development or showing more character motivation, but overall it all worked. Just needed that little extra touch :)

@cats: I love your art style; it's so cute! The detail you put into your backgrounds really make it feel professional. Of course, it also looks unfinished since everything is sketchy, but it's great for the level of finish it's at (hopefully that makes sense). So my #1 piece of advice would be to make sure you have enough time to finish a full story, even if you have to cut the length of that story down. I think you could still tell a really fun story in just a few pages and have it just that much more polished. Still, the whole thing was very easy to read and fun to look at. There were a few grammatical errors that a proofreader might have helped with, but I know that's not always an option. In any case, I love this character and your art is great, and I just want more! :)

KNOMER: I know for a god damn fact you can do better but I liked it anyway. Your sharp lines are a thrill even in these shitty sketch versions. Story flowed like balls down a river but we get the jist of it. I'd have liked some development or indications of the sudden familiarity in the middle there, but I'll survive.

CATS: Yo your style is so damn cute and good and dope. It's not in a satisfyingly finished state, but the rock hard good shit that is your art come through still. I have no idea why the hell those two are even fighting though, like, okay, there's the knife and there's the tension between them, but it's just not something I'd expect anyone to get killed over for. And if that's the point, then the absurdity of it shoulda been played up a lot more.

Both were enjoyable meaningless romps, basically. I'm okay with that.
