Amazing effort from the both of you. not only did both battles have really great art, but both stories were really robust and rather funny!
FLUTTERBYES- You are coming into another tournament yet again as a heavyweight. You have such a great knack for comics, humor and interpreting other peoples characters- not to mention your own. I think Vespa is quickly going to become one of my favorites. Your lineart is polished ,but still carries that effortless loosey goosey feel that lends itself to a flow from page to page. This is definitely another showing of impressive pagecount for the week deadline you were alotted, so kudos. I can't wait to see more from you.
QSY- I was ecstatic when you decided to join the invitational and this first round is definitely an indication of what I expected. your traditional work dazzles in all your art and pin ups, and does the same in spades when its in comic form. Its clear your coloring and style is labor and time intensive, so I hope you find a happy medium that works well, but also allows you you bust out some fully complete comics. You're no stranger to comic tournaments though, so I have no doubt you are going to come back in your next battle much stronger.

Flutterbyes: DAT GUMSHOE AND DALE
so good. I'm so glad. The lineart is extremely polished and though you could use more backgrounds, the composition and presentation is so well-organized, I don't even mind!
Qsy: The colors are very smooth and solid-- the only thing is, the story is pretty lacking and minimal. it IS possible to tell a compelling story in very few pages-- a good example of this to read is the LSDT/Light Speed Death Tournament. Once you can present a strong enough narrative, you'll be an intimidating opponent to face!
Great job!

@Flutterbyes; As the others said I would have really loved to see some backgrounds in your comic, but it didn't suffer too much without them. You're expressions and line quality were really great to see and I just had a really fun time reading it.
@Qsy; Short but sweet. I wish that it was fully colored but what you have is great. In particular I'm in love with your lineart its bold and clean and it really feels professional. Your story was really fun and unique as well.

@Flutterbys: This comic is an ambitious length for a week and you pulled it off without too much of a drop in quality! The gags were all funny and you had a great dynamic going between the two of them. I do wish a few more pages were like page 6, with less white space and a fuller range of shades. Also yes what Bobo said about backgrounds.
@Qsy: A simple but effective story! I really like the strong blacks you used on page one, maybe even more on the panel(s) that didn't have the white highlights on them. I was disappointed to see them disappear on the unfinished pages but what can you do You do good posing and your characters are super consistent so kudos on that!

@Flutterbyes: That was a cute comic! The story was simple, but fun, and the gags were as charming as they were funny. All I want to see from you (other than just more comics in general) is greater attention to detail on your backgrounds. Zoom out, give us a sense of place; make sure we don't get lost. That wasn't a huge deal in this comic because the place was kind of unimportant to the plot, but a comic can always be improved with some nice establishing shots and good backgrounds!
@Qsy: What a fun read! It was really short, but I loved the way these two characters interacted. Your traditional coloring is still awesome, and I wish you'd been able to finish it all. I'd give you similar advice to Flutterbyes, which is to zoom out some more and give us a little more background to help establish location better. You actually had some decent backgrounds, so I think it's more about just zooming out so we can see the bigger picture of where everyone is and stuff. Anyways, I'm excited to see what other comics you make here on VOID in the future!

@Qsy - oh my god, your art is so beautiful as usual! Cute and charming story, talk about "short and sweet"! And I love the last panel in page 3! Great work!
