For flatness, M000 you can always try varying line widths, as well as liberal use of dark spaces. or shading. ANy one would cure that. Lovely story you got there, but when Mal said to never set their foot off the restaurant I thought it was one of those inspired martial arts \"challenges\" where they can only fight the law inside the diner (where their jurisdiction is limited when inside private/public property ?)  it would\'ve added that extra urban kick. but shit man you still got me pegged on simple story. Nicely conveyed.

Hobbes ma\' boy you kicked up the art and added the subtle badassery in there. Natural flow to dialogue and story progression turned out quite a fresh circumstance for fighting M00. Hobbes playing it smart really brings out character in this one. Just work out the kinks in your figures, work towards keeping the character proportion constant, and take the composition of your frames into mind, there are a lot of empty space in your pictures that are made even more so cold and technical with your use of ruler (which is not bad) I\'d say improve on this by adding to the scene a little [/hypocrisy]

I think of youse got even steven in this one. M000 for entertainment, Hobbes for originality.
Both art evened out and can use some improving.

Mooo, you\'re art is looking really flat in this one. You\'ve had this problem before, so I hope you recognize it and work on it. Maybe do some studies of 3d objects and faces? Good stuff otherwise, I\'m looking forward to see what comes next.

Hobbes, your art is cool, and aside from the head-size thing, I think you should pratice hands a bit more. Some of them are looking elongated and weird, especially panels 3 and 4 of  page 2. The perspective seems really weird on the last panel of page 3 also. Still, you got my votes, and Itami would own them both, haha.

These were both fun!!  I had trouble decided where to give votes, because although Mooo pulled another \'backgroundless-wonder\' comic, I still like the art.  Your writing is good, and I look forward to what will come in the future!

Hobbes - I liked your comic too, I like your pencils, but sometimes your anatomy is rather weak.  Mooo didn\'t really have the physique that I think he should in comparison to your guy.  The drinking game was cute, but your writing was kind of weak in some areas.

I gave Mooo a slightly higher grade in this one, but its neck and neck, good luck to you both!!

MOOO: Your art seems almost childish (probably because of the flat inking) but DAMN your art still manages to convey the story near perfectly! Which is just testament you dont have to be a Joe Madureira or a Bryan Hitch to portray an excellent story! That brutal scene with Mal, showing it from a static side-view is inspired (reminds me of that infamous alley fight scene in that Korean flick \"Old Boy\")! The script is pitch-perfect! Awesome dialogue and character exchanges and nuances! Good pacing and flow. You captured the VCPD perfectly for the bastard\'s they are.
If anything, just polish ur art a little. Try using different line widths (pen thickness) perhaps to give it the visual punch it deserves.

HOBBES: Also great characterizations! You both had the same ideas there at the start. But who woulda foreseen yours would end up being a drinking battle! I always enjoy seeing battles that arent of the fist kind (i\'m still waiting for someone to do a COURTROOM battle)! Your art is nicely detailed and rendered! The angles have been varied! Especially kudos for making 2 people sitting down drinking liquor look dynamic!
In the end, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your submission. Somehow i just find Mooo\'s side to be the better comic. The votes are very close. Anyone can win this one.

Shit, Hobbes, you\'re all over me on this one.  Yeah, taking shots to  head and sucking it up is completely different from taking shots of engine cleaner. XD

Mooo- Hmm, I like this a lot better than some of your previous fights, the art feels like it\'s getting more solid and you\'ve definitely got a rockin\' storyline headed for the Mal\'s Diner group and Exiles. I hope it continues to grow like this XD The bakgrounds on page 1 and 3 are awesome, but the rest of it is a little too white for my taste.

Hobbes- It\'s not an ABSOLUTE fabrication... Have you ever seen drunken fencers? Amazing.
...maybe more of an \"Absolut\" fabrication, ahahaha.
^_^ I admire your pencil technique, it\'s very detailed and polished... I\'d ask how you manage to not smear graphite all over the thing but I think it\'s something I\'ve gotta figure out on my own. Some of the panels, like 5 on page 4, could be even more effective atmospherically if you were to shade in the space behind the characters. At the moment it\'s like halfway to Frank Miller-esque, and it\'d be cool to see it go the extra step.

Anyway, I enjoyed both, have to decide how I\'m gonna vote now...

Whoo! XD Finally.

Hobbes: Lmao, great. I laughed through this one. I guess I should start offering more critiques when I comment, so I\'ll have a go. A lot of the time (primarily in closeups) your human heads are too large for the body. I\'m sure the others will hit anything else. So other than that, I like it, the pencil lines are nice and clean. (Which is actually.. cool, because if anyone ever wanted to ink your work? They wouldn\'t have a hard time.)

Mooo: XD I told you I loved this days ago, Mal just keeps getting cooler and cooler. Too bad you didn\'t get to color the whole thing, and despite what Voiders are always saying about \'too  much dialogue\', I still disagree, it really walked hand in hand with this one. All I can really say is, work on your anatomy (which I\'m sure you\'ve heard, a lot). Your perspective could use some depth (namely in the shots of the Diner front).

... Lmao Wei, the thumbnail. Do you like the bunny gropage?

UPLOADED!  My apologies in advance--due to time constraints, I wasn\'t able to do a full-color comic.  Again, my apologies to those who were looking forward to it.  I\'ll just work harder in the future.
