Still hard to believe mine's in rotation... I may just have to amend that banner with another attempt.

That's pretty much how I colour my stuff... I just need desperate help with colour choice.

Thought I'd throw this down here:

Two heroes, and two villains, and two lvl1 minions from a game me and my brother are tinkering on.
Street, Tech,  Flare's lvl1 Minion: Burst, Flare, Lament, Lament's lvl1 minion: crackhead.

I drew a sandvich.

I can see you as a Heavy. I'm particular to the Pyro myself.

Beautiful. Your colour choice is magical.

I was diggin' the position of the character on the right in the first sketch, so the bloodstream/tentacle/whatever that is - going in front was a bit dissapointing to see. It also looks like it could be a cover-up.
In my opinion, if you could show more of the character - it'd be a stronger piece.

Garic: The colour choices for the first guy are great, but I'm feeling that the ninja's colours are looking washed out in comparison, especially since theirs so much white.

Craqued: How is this a mistake? Looks pretty good so far, tighten up the facial features to draw more attention to them, and you might just have a pretty awesome piece there.

... I'd like to see what you can do in a shot with some intense visible light sources and a complete background.

Thx for taking the time to crit my stuff man - I think I might just take on that challenge once my battle's done. Lighting does seem to be the issue on these two pieces, and sadly enough - I had drawn out where the light was coming from on the last one with the big guy. *phail.

Epic.

Thanks for the crits! I'll work on defining my light-source, as well as colour choices. I have an idea for colours that may come in handy for future projects, ever hear of Kuler?

I am curious what needs improvement. It seems like my colouring could become my bread and butter - so I'd like to hone my skillz, btw Angie - your bad crit example made me chuckle.

Anywho - here's my most recent.

Here's mine. XD Loads of fun, good practice too.

I did Gale.

Nailed it!

I've been trying this myself - it's hard to keep the characters looks consistent.

Wow, I think that's a record on how soon a character gets fanart! Pretty good one at that ;]

Resources & Tutorials / Re: How To Scan Large Pages
« on: Apr 20, 2009, 04:47 PM »
Should it matter as long as it shows your skill set?

Maan, I hate scanning large images. I can never get the lines to line up right.

I usually end up touching up the busy parts with my Wacom.

If you're working with Photoshop, they actually have an automerge function that I've used for piecing together some of my paintings. It doesn't always work, but for the few minutes it takes to try, it could end up saving you a lot of frustration.

Haha, well luckily for me that ink my sister sent over was full and also came with a brush - so I won't have to worry about ordering for a while.
Here's my first attempt.

Just messin' around, really.

Well, for one: A computer and the internet does a whole lot more than merely producing and posting pictures. And for me, I have no art store in my city ( very small used to be a town a couple years ago) so I'd have to go out of my way to pick one up. But your point has been taken.  My brother had recieved some ink that my sister sent from China, so I think I'll whittle down a chopstick and try my hand at this... if their's any of that ink left.

Reviews / Re: So what comics are you reading?
« on: Jan 23, 2007, 02:09 PM »
Hahaha, Concerned - that webcomic had me tearing up with everypage, but yes... most of the humour probably wouldn't be nearly as funny if you never played hl2.

A couple books I have in my small late-blossoming collection:
Sandman: endless nights,
a few Hellboy books,
Ultimate Fantastic Four,
Bone ( yes, I too recommend it ),
and Batman: hush
Batman Wardrums.

as well as a few crappy cheapo comics I've picked up to learn " How not " to make comics.
