Hey Sorry for submitting nothing, I started my comic all over one week from the deadline ahah. It should be on next week thought since I'm pretty busy.

I liked your comic, the idea wasn't that original but the art was quite strong for a first entry, you've got a good style. It looks a bit rushed sometimes thought and action scenes are a bit messy ahah. I can't wait to see your next battles and for you to read mine ahah!

Pretty good stuff. Keep working on anatomy and perspective. You may want to add some highlights to this too. If there is a character who is a midget, you may not want to cut off all of his lower body with a word balloon, it looked really weird. Aaaand I kinda thought your character was a dude... I am not sure if that was intentional.

Not bad, standard void battle really. I would of liked to have seen you put in more backgrounds as you had some very nice camera angles going on in the panels. I really haven't got much to say honestly and I'm sorry for that. For your future battles I would love to see you really push yourself further and further as you go on. Good luck.

A good first entry.  Not much else to say that hasn't been said.  Just keep characters proportions in relation to each in mind next time.

Wend, really nice inks. This is a really solid comic, you've definitely got the skills to hang here. That said, I'm gonna nit-pick a little bit so you've got something to think about. Also, it's been a while since i've given an in-depth crit, so thanks for the opportunity.

Page 1 Panel 4 - Avoid full-body profiles if you can, it's a really boring camera angle and doesn't really add much to any scene except awkwardness. You already have an exterior establishing shot, why not use the panel for an interior one?

Pages 3 and 4 - Your action sequences are your weakpoint, I think. If you want to do more of them, I advise studying up on some superhero or martial arts comics to get a good idea of how you can illustrate dynamic action. Some choice picks of mine include Jim Lee's work on Hush, Hajime no Ippo, or History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi.

Your backgrounds also seem to disappear after this point. I'm not sure if this is due to time constraints or what, but similar to establishing shots, having environmental parting shots are a good way to keep the reader immersed in the story. I like the punchline you've already got, but having some environment in the preceding panel would have been good.

Really good work, I can't wait to see where you go next with this. Just food for thought, but I think a really serious or dramatic plot would go GREAT with this comic style.

Thanks Mr Kent!

I was some what lazy with the backgrounds and such, it's been a real crappy month, though that should not be an excuse really.

it's a shame Kon's side of it hasn't shown up, I was really looking forward to seeing how he handled Madison.

I like Madison's spunky attitude, so I can't wait to see more. Aside from spelling snags and whatnot, I agree with Alberto when it comes to references - you can never have too many references. The fight scene could've used some body/anatomy, but at least you gave the scene some real energy. I look forward to more Wend, and congrats on your first comic here!

Kon: Oh Pooh!

Wend: Congrats on posting your first battle. Crit: first off. what page size do you draw on... it looks like 8 1/2 by 11...

Watch your panel breaks, try and stay consistant with your gutters if that's the way you wan to go. Or just break up your panels
more creatively. Use refrence whenever you can. Panel three inside panel four was somewhat confusing.
I like the wash look, I dugged the last page... good way to end it.... over all not bad... i'm looking forward to your next battle.

ok, the comic is up. Some bits I really hate like the 5th page. blah.

This was heaps of fun but took way longer than I wanted to do, with some life stuff going down it was hard for a while there to get a page out.

Oh yeah, the game Madison is playing is this stacking game which is a freaking devil and has stole MUCH of my money in an attempt to get phones/cameras and other electronic devices.
Stay away from them.

I had to take an other week. You might want some explanations here, since my last comic I had a BIG writer's block and I felt I was going nowhere. So I drank a lot and it somehow came bac. So I'm gonna need an extra week since I'm starting my comic all over, I hope you'll like it !

See ya folks

As a reminder since this battle is due Thanksgiving you will still be expected to turn in on time. I personally will not be putting up any battles until the 27th or 28th as I will be out of town and not have access to the FTP. But remember that our other battle uploader is Canadian and does not have the same Thanksgiving as us Americans so don't take it as "oh Angie's out of town, we get a few extra days!" since Wei will still be around to put battles up.
