jar's stuff was really cool.
I like the color stuff, but maybe don't let it get in the way of your actual drawings.

Jar -- really nice pencil work, but I feel like the sound effects are really clashing. The color in the caption boxes is passable, but the sound effects are super glaring on top of the rough pencils.

Johnny -- It really just seems like you ran out of time and didn't put any effort into it at all. o_o It's cute in a way, but it's simultaneously sitting on the border of "lame."

Jar, I am so glad you pulled through. I was really worried! Your pencils and action scenes are always so amazing. It makes up for the lack of colors and story. (Everyone has their good areas...)  This is just what you do I guess. Thank you for submitting for us!

Johnny, for 4 weeks, you submitted something most of us can do in 20 minutes or less. I realize Void is a hobby comic site that is just for fun, but for a lot of us, sometimes we take it as a place for competing against other artists to better ourselves. If these are the types of comics you are going to submit without much word on what you're trying to do, I suggest you put back on your training wheels and go to polykarbon.com's Fight Club with all the little 12 year olds and get back to your roots. You can do better than "CHIBI" battles.

Ah crap, forgot part of what I was gonna say:

Jar:  The fonts used for the sound effects...not lovin' 'em up against your art.  You might want to try hand drawing that stuff, making it look more integrated.

Jar:  That green..kinda bothers my eyes for the first page.
All in all, really impressed with the art.  Like AmazingDavid said below, it does remind me of a few top notch '90's artists.  Things do get kind of lost though as the fight progresses..it gets harder to tell what's going on and it looks like it's due to a combination of compositions in your panels and a need for some more varied line weights and shading.
Story wise..well, kinda meh.

Johnny:  I do like the approach, actually, and there was some funny in there.  I do wonder if you couldn't have done something more elaborate in those two weeks.  Though, even going the route you went, I think the art could've been more refined, and with some neater lettering in places, and probably with a few more strips, too.

Jar:  I'm not sure WHY I read yours.  I mean the story might as wall have been something along the lines of "Fenix opens a door" or "Fenix sits down in a chair"  Art was ok, the computer text was ill fitting and annoying though.

Johnny:  Now it's not hard to produce a comic that is head and shoulders above your competition, when your competition turns in something like this - so even though your comic WAS more entertaining and more creative, it's not necessarily astoundingly so.  People on void vote for what is pretty, so if you had actually spent time on the art, you could have easily taken this, since otherwise your comic is the clear winner here.

johnny.. interesting approach.. coulda been better in 4 weeks time.. but you know that already im sure.

jar. that was pretty cool to look at i think it coulda had more depth than. " havent seen you around in a while. you too.. lets fight then.... okay i win..." but visually still brought some bad assness to it. would love to battle you some day.

Johnny-very funny pannels! Love the chibi-fb change. lol! Seems really rushed art wise and it doesn't flow very well, but I can see that you have a lot of talent and humour.
Jar-WELL DONE! Wow! I am very impressed with your lines, shading, and effects, as well as perspective and control of anatomy. I was a bit confused when he got hit on the first page, as the guy looked to be behind him, and it was a little rushed pace wise I think. Other than that, awesome job!

honestly cant say i hate johnny's. being super finished is not nec teh only wa to do art, i think the style works for this. And i found his funnies somewhat entertaining, comic funny people make a living doin this. that said, they do it like 1 day, not 3 strips in 4 weeks, but then again the same could be said for comic pages.

Jar, i think your visual story telling is on par in beginning, good choices for shots, and it works, not quite what happened there when the flame hits, but im not too familiar with your chr, so maybe thats part of the confusion, Quality is still high id say though. you got skill mang

Jar: Nice work...you totally woulda been famous in like 95...and thats no dis...you have style that reminds me a lot of some of the greats (keown, Lee, turner, everybody at Top Cow..some of my favorites.) its clean and I like that you didn't ink it. I wish the story had been something...more...some of the cliches got on my nerves. (eg sound effects, dialogue) the only thing that I felt needed something more was some of the fight panels especially the punching maybe varied line weights or grey tones or something to seperate the images you were presenting.  Otherwise good go of it

Johnny: Yeah...this looked super loose which I don't hate...hahah I actually marked you up on intertainment considering your lack of a punchline was the punchline...I laughed for a bit...I guess there is potential there or something but who cares I say the most efficient way to get our ideas out is the best way...and had this been super detailed and tight I probably wouldnt have liked it as much...kudos...

wow.....welp

Jar: Good stuff. I was short yet pleasing to the eye. Love the .."double meaning"? in the dialogue. My only gruff is the cliche' sound effects. But thas it.

Johnny: I mean rough work is cool, but I don't feel like u invested in your panels at all. Kinduva let down considering your potential...so yeah.
