This jam is about drawing ABS and other muscles and like sixpacs and stuff!

So a really good way to make it easier for yourself but at the same time to get better at it (and this is why we are all here right?!) is to

USE REFERENCES!!

So a great example for a neat shortcut (but this is not cheating don't worry!) is to use egg carton or a beer six pack when drawing ABS!!!

i.e.




So here is an example of Wizzie Belles with a sixpack based off beer!


And don't worry this method works for male characters too! Here's a Mortido with an egg carton. And we all know he is a SUPER POWERFUL character so to show this it's good to give him a bit of extra oomph with the extra bits of muscle, like on the egg carton!

Today I went to liek a gallery saw a Thomas Rowlandson's stuff and i got in a mood to scribble with ink and nib. And I went through my sketchbook and 90% of what was in pencils got randomly inked. SOme excerpts:

And this is where is gets a bit more interesting (also brush and nor just nib) - I spend most of the evening drawing muscly torsos, as I belive I am crap at drawing anything masculine. Some picks from this selection, also any sort of comments welcome here! I shall jsut point out that these were drawn straigt on with ink and no pencil sketches first, so they are not perfect. Oh no.









A prize to anyone that guesses what google images search said... Ahaha. I wouldn't normally use google images as a reference but these are just doodles for fun...

I started working on a possible new character. Just had this in my head for a while and started to put things on (digital) paper. So far only b&w but this will be coloured.

At the moment my main problem seems to be the time it takes me to draw anything. I haven't done a lot of it for a while, so part of it I guess is that I am a bit rusty. But on the other hand the above took me 8+ hours - I don't think this is normal. Justarhymes commented on the murder & mystery comic that "A B/W or toned page shouldn't really take more than a couple of hours to complete."  - when I aim for that I end up with rushed stuff I am not terribly happy with (i.e. Lophii vs Kars). ANY ADVICE HERE WILL BE WELCOME. How do I get faster? :[ I think my slowness is not even funny anymore

Anyway something along the lines of a bio:

Dr Ivy Rosaline Calderwood

2. Loves animals. Doesn’t love humans.
3. Works a lot.
4. Key skill: Bilocation, trilocation and more. (i.e. normally there’s three of her in different places, up to seven). The copies are made via teleporting to a different place but not leaving the starting point. This can be from going 1m away from current location to a different dimension.
5. Hivemind.
6. Dr as in PhD. Special interest are the supernatural animals.
7. Seems like a perfect opportunity to live a double life?
8. Cat’s name is Bub.
