I do believe we're in need of and always open for new submissions of VOID forum banner art!!
(The lovely headers at the top of every forum page, FYI)
It's been awhile and I think we need some fresh art!
Requirements:
900 x 200 pixels
.jpg, .gif, .png files only please
VOID related art of course!! (characters, events, comics etc!)
Post your works in here for submission!! Get your art displayed to hundreds of viewers!! OOH! AAH!
Have some goddamn fun with it!! (but don't let it distract you from your battles, kids)

about five feet away from me as I type this there is a coffee vending machine from the 1970's and it has exactly the same colour scheme and font.....and a picture of very happy watercolor people and their sideburns drinking cocoa in front of a fireplace

I like the concept of your banner, Pacifier. The only problem is the banner resoultion is suppose to be 900x200 pixels as stated on the first post of this thread.
Yours is only 600x133 pixels.

Actually, in photoshop, it is the same size as a 900x200 banner, only it was shrunk down to 600x133.

Brain Battle, SRT, and KoM, and Arma were all time-sensitive banners but great looking pieces of art.
Ideally, a banner should show the great unique things about VOID
- ton of styles
- all kinds of story types
- ton of characters (many is better than one)
- combative
I choose mainly due to art. I love you Uncle Sex, but nipple lovin' ain't making it into the banner rotation because it's too obscure and not representative of the site as a whole. It's like trying to call Pulpo "taintface" slightly amusing, but never gonna happen.

One thing I just now noticed for some reason is the Arma 07 banners are still up even though the event's been over for a long time. It seems when an event ends the banner for it is taken out of rotation but the Arma ones are still there.

but seriously, it's the fact that there's no bend through the torso, the fact that her upper body is bent one way & her waist is another way. her abdominal muscles would lead into the bend.

dude. i know the move, but you're missing what i'm saying & not looking at your picture versus your reference. her upper body on the reference tilts & twists into the bent waist while your character's just has an abrupt almost 180 turn. look at the shoulders.

yeah we're seeing side boob in your picture, in the ref its barely turned. And the way the shoulders in your picture line up looks like it's turning entirely to the side while on the ref it is facing front . These two factors alone pretty much nails why she's turning an extra 90 degrees than she should be.
tldr; Refs facing front, picture's facing side.

Anthony, it only looks right because you copied the image you provided without even looking at the underlying anatomy, notice the position of her chest, we're seeing it from the front and at a slight angle, her left shoulder is closer to the ground and her right shoulder is raised upwards. Casimir's shoulders are parallel to the ground, and we're seeing her torso at the side, that wouldn't be such a stretch if her neck wasn't turned towards the viewer, it's not something impossible to do, but she'd be amazingly uncomfortable regardless. What further makes this pose unbelievable is the hips, you've done a good job duplicating the position of the legs, but considering the pose of Casimir's upper body, not only is her spine trying to twist itself into a knot, it looks like either it was pasted on there or she's learned how to bend her spine at a 90 degree angle without paralyzing herself.
Using references is fine and all, but you're just straight up copying what you think you see instead of actually learning how the break-dancer's body is working, how her bones are positioned, and how she's keeping her balance there without injuring herself. Don't get me wrong here, the drawing is good, but your anatomy is lacking big time.

Less talking more banner drawing, i've been watching a lot of these same banners for almost 3 years now. Time to freshen things up folks! I'm gonna go make one now~
Orion - Battle commemoration sounds like a great idea, like take your favorite panel/section of a story and re-interpret it. I hope to see some awesome stuff if more people get into this.

Even a step further beyond that we have had an abundance of Tournament action. Maybe some commemorative images of those? I mean the ending 3 way match for the invite with the cybermoon doomsday? Hell yeah!
The banners should represent some of the best parts of Void! I mean most of the time I look up at those I either don't know the character I am looking at or the character hasn't been used in years!
Its time to freshen up the place! ;D

Wow, I hope you're not still making one since November.
Anyway, rest assured new banners are being made to go along with the redesign that's going on now. For the time being, however, I'm not taking any new banners
