Snager - really creepy, very compelling. The loose panels, odd angles and brushwork were very good at evoking dreaming. I almost feel like this comic speaks to deeper fears and anxieties, but I don’t want to pry.
Ran - This one was absolutely delightful, it so accurately illustrated the nostalgic fun of spontaneous hijinks - it totally transported me back to my teenage years and messin’ with my homies.
Nothin - cute! The rendering here is clear as crystal, this is some pro lookin stuff.
Gregly - I loved this one, i’m a sucker for a good meta joke (i’m also a sucker for falling for it). I must say, i think you also unintentionally made a good existential horror comic here, because of the smoke-like shadow rendering underneath the show curtain - it communicates something dark and eldritch about the show, almost like the show is life itself - you work yourself to the bone to gain access to the show of life only to catch a fleeting glimpse of the darkness underneath, and by the time you perceive it, it’s too late - the comic is over, thus your show, and your perception is non-existant, wiped from reality.
Flyee - cute and wholesome (mostly lol). I’ve definitely seen this idea before, cats being cute but secretly thinking they're gods over us, but it’s hard to deny that the concept is a lot of fun and very relatable.
Pita - It took me to going to the comments before this one clicked for me and now i feel like a real rube - this was clever as hell! Fantastic work here, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a comic on void do anything like this.
Kubo - very nice, this one definitely kept me guessing. Overall i think the looser panel layouts worked nicely here, especially with the lack of dialogue (Altho I think you could have omitted the pictoral dialogue bubble in the first page and the comic would’ve still tracked, small nitpick). Great stuff as always.

Snager - Really dug the last page and the colours you used for the background earlier on. For me though, the wobbly style of the characters and speech bubbles only somewhat leant to the dream vibe, and other times just looked sloppy to me.
Ran - Oh man, if this story is real that’s hilarious XD I love the style you tried out here, it looked great! The number of characters confused me on my first few reads, but that’s probably on me.
Nothin - This was super cute! Absolutely love the platypus design, but they’re all great tbh.
Gregly - DAMN YOU that was brilliant. You got me. You sucked me in and I was truly bamboozled.
Flytee - You drew this kitten so cute ;-; I’m not sure how much of a bamboozle this really was, but I can’t resist that face haha
Pita - Omg I love this concept. It’s honestly pretty clever to do the duck/rabbit thing but as a real life animal, I can only imagine how scary/embarrassing it would be to be a vet that can’t ID a patient! And the owner tripped me out at the end too.
Kubo - Woah, amazing quality for a 1-weeker! Was cool to see a silent comic too. Great bamboozling!

Snager: Your art style works really well with surreal scenarios and dreams. It was really nice seeing those watercolors in your comics again! Keep it up!
Ran: I'm a sucker for rl stories. This one was was definitely bamboozling. It was fun seeing the change in style for this.
Nothin: This was really cute and clean, loved the gif with the brain rattling around.
Gregly: Wonderful bamboozling. Great build up, no release. Feel very bamboozled.
Flytee:This speaks to me so much as a cat owner. Super fucking cute!
Pita: You pulled me right back to middle school with those illusion pictures! I sat there staring at the duck rabbit for a bit trying to figure it out. You bamboozled me good.
Kubo: You didn't need any text for this to be followed or understood. They bamboozled that crowd good! Also looking forward to seeing Storm Lord Saga.

-Such dreamyness, excellent impermanence.
Quote from: Fred v2.0.1
that's high praise from the master of surrealism u///u
sunrise, im looking into cate wurtz, now
and thanks, Gregly <3
this little battle was fun to play in! only downside is I can't cast votes on the other players XD
ran2: I liked your little dairy comic. it feels less like a narrative, and more like a monument to all the good buddies you have. very sweet.
lucky: your little comic strip guys are so charming. they look like they belong on an allover print canvas backpack. I am recalibrating the algorithm i use to pick memes for you by according to the parameters present.
gregly: your story is so sweet and simple but you really did get me: I accidentally accessed the comics early and thought you were saving the last page for the last second. I like how this is a story told without dialog, as well. nicely done!
flytee: your cat diary is a very cute idea and the proof is in the pudding. cats really do think their people are their staff? good to know.
Pita: your comic had me crying in the club. the reveal at the end? chef's kiss. the only improvement that could have been made is if the lady was wearing The Dress.
also, I am large consumer of vet shows and Dr. Pol is my favorite guy, but Dr. Kay has more parrots. no one can have it all, I guess.
Kubo: you orchestrated your comic really well. between you and gregly, I wish I had the chops to pull off dialoglessness with my story, too. The world building is enticing and I can't wait to read the TV tropes page for your rougeish scamps.

Kubo: Really well drawn as usual, man. I loved a bunch of the expressions, these dudes have so much character for gag characters haha.
Pita: I am too low IQ for this comic it took me a second reading to get it and I audiably OOOOH'D when I did, very clever, grats on actually bamboozling me lol
Flytee: Humans are such easy prey. Lots of crits given in person.
Gregly: Like Fred said, I knew where this was going and I still laughed my ass off. Amazing work
Lucky: Very cute and charming both in style and substance!
Ran: God damn this was wholesome as fuck, I love this japery. (Pretty cool to see some autobio stuff on Void as well)
Snager: Nice surrealist humour, kinda reminds me of some of Cate Wurtz stuff.

Snager I love the loose lines and the slapped-on paint which really helps to push the dreamy aesthetic. I like how it becomes greyscale at the end, very spooky!
Ranzombie I'm biased but I like this Genndy style! It's neat and the characters and their body language are very expressive. Reminds me of the good ol' bro times with the ladds.
Lucky Nothin love to see more of Portia and Bugbert! The vector shapes and bright colors were nice but these hand drawn versions of them are so full of life! This was very cute.
Me-- this is a finished comic, there isn't a page missing!
Flytee this is so so adorable. I like how you differentiate between the owners' and cat's speech. The panel with the kitty kiss and the kitty krown made me quite happy.
Pita I saw you working on this a little and thought the bird/duck would be the reveal at the end, so when the reveal at the end was the young/old woman I was quite impressed! It's a very clever idea and funny too, I like how bewildered the doctor is.
Kubo the coloring and lighting in this looks great! The hands all look really good too and hands are difficult. The only minor critique I have is that i wasn't sure where the culty-life-vial thing was being kept in relation to the pulpit and stuff. But this is an interesting teaser and i like the camel mount they escape on.

Portia & Bugbert is small run of comics I made last year that have an established style of being incredibly simple vector shapes. So believe it or not these are the most detailed they’ve ever been.

A story that I fondly retell among friends. And now, it's your turn to know!
This time around I tried to go with a simpler style, akin to Genndy Tartakovsky sleek and sharp line work. It was fun, though there's definitely much room for improvement.
Sadly I keep mismanaging my time and had a few close calls, but I'm still somewhat happy with the result!

My submission is a teaser comic for the Storm Lord Saga, a long form comic I am working on outside of Void. I hope you enjoy.
