YOU GUYS all sing up with a pre-existing, living charcter of your own, AND THEN all the charcters are shuffled like a deck of cards and assigned to diffrent artists to use for the tournament as if it were their own!

EXAMPLE: if i signed up with Nova, he would go to someone else and I would get who knows what charcter to use!

There will only be 8 slots in this quick and dirty tourny, 3 rounds of 1 week battles!

This is your scanner (well, my scanner, but that doesn’t matter!) every Artist’s best friend and worst nightmare all rolled into one!



But oh no! The awesome comic you drew for void is too big for your tiny little scanner screen! And you don’t have any extra cash for a bigger scanner! WHAT WILL YOU DO!?

Don’t worry, you can still show the world your masterwork!



Step 1. Place your page the long way on the scanner, so some of it is left hanging off slightly. Close the lid, and scan like normal.



Step 2. Adjust your scanner settings as normal and copy the image into PhotoShop (or any other image-editing program.  Trust me, I’ve even done this in MS Paint, and while a huge pain, came out fine).



Step 3. After pasting your half scanned image into a blank PS canvas (or whatever) and rotate horizontally so it’s right side up. 

Step 4. Repeat steps 1-3 with the second half of your page.



Step 5. Paste the second half into the same canvas as the first. Don’t worry, PS will make a new layer for the second image automatically.

Step 6. Before pasting them together, I like to remove a chunk from the top of the second scan, to remove any shadow left from the scanner where it was hanging off, and also to pick a good place to connect the two images.  I like to aim for the gutters and/or sections with few lines.  It helps makes it simpler when matching them together. 



Step 7.  Zoom in to get a better view, and select the second image in its layer, right click and go to “Free Transform”.  This will let you freely move the second half around.  Match up the lines up as best you can, they should fit together no problem.  If not, just keep trying and rescanning until you get the scans of the page straight enough so they will fit together easily.



Step 8.  Got to Layers in the top drop down menus, and go down to the bottom and click “Flatten Image”.  That will stick all your layers into one image, and there you go! You just scanned a huge page like a pro.  Now you are ready to clean it up, maybe color, crop it, resize it and post it up for everyone to see!

I hope this helps all these chaps who aren’t sure what “scanning in sections” means.  If you have anymore questions, just ask.

I think we’ve all been told “you should draw flowers” at some point, I know I have, and Helftan’s Artist Battle inspired me.  So, lets just draw flowers!  Paint, ink, pencil, whatever! I just wanna see some flowers from you pack of slackers! Get creative! Have some fun!
