kubo:

You're right, looking back, I was hoping that Kirt's reaction would have been enough but the intensity of page 4 really diminishes it.

I would add that divising the dialogue in two segment with an additionnal panel would have happened

Kozispoon: I think the only moment I wish stood out more was the big reveal that Kubo could bring people back from the dead. I know VOID is a fantastical place, but bringing someone back to life is a huge deal, yet Kubo and Kurt discuss it like they're gonna pick up some eggs at the market. A couple extra panels to show the weight of  that reveal and Kurts shock over it I think would've helped alot.

My first thought upon seeing Kubo and Harvey in the same comic was my pleasant surprise that two white guys with beards looked totally different. XD Great comic, man. I do indeed call this a comeback. As someone who was on Void once upon a time, its great to give us vets and newcomers alike a reintroduction to this character.

What is there to say that hasn't already been said? This was just an all around solid comic, I can't even really think of any gripes, and I am completely invested in where you take Kubo from here.

Also, "Good Taco, Bad Smell" amuses me to no end.

Yo man this comic was like. Really good? I'm extremely interested in seeing where this goes, and the art was really rad too! Color me hyped :D though I gotta admit I'm gonna miss Kubo's beard, he looked good with it :P

This looks great! Your inks and panel layouts are fantastic, and it's definitely made me excited to see more. ( :

That was a really cool story to bring back Kubo. I love the way you ink stuff in general and i think that's my favorite thing about your art. I also enjoy the layout of Page 2 which is technically the first page of the story. I am curious what you will be doing with the old characters who are no longer active. though I read through Wendigo's story and saw one of them and i swear i saw the Beret guy in one of your other comics. Either way this is a good return to his action.

TheCydork: Oh man I was hype seeing this announced and I was not disappointed! New Kubo looks GREAT! The front page looks super cool, I love the graffiti-like font and the “3D” effect on the silhouette, and the last shot on page 4 is aces. I don’t have much to say about the overall quality of the comic since yo’ure consistently very good with them. I like the semi-meta comment about old Void characters going missing and linking it to Void’s general seediness. I’m also very excited because even though I don’t know who most of the other characters in this comic are, I get the impression they’re linked to something bigger and Kubo is gonna have a major arc soon.

I do wonder if I am missing something though? I thought with what Kubo was saying, these characters would have shown up in his past but I read through his whole archive and saw no glimpse of them. Kubo’s capture and imprisonment was also this huge event but I don’t see anything of it before these recent comics. So the impact of his rescue and these characters is very much lost on me, all the hype simply comes from seeing such an old character in your vastly improved style.

This is also a pretty minor thing but occasionally your hands look off, which can take me out of it considering you draw most other things so well. Things like obvious size disparity (e.g. panel 5 on pages 3 and 7) or just broken-looking fingers (page 8, last panel).

Thanks for there comments, everyone!

Cy, Thank you so much for the critique, Kubo's back catalogue is really nothing to talk about, So I decided to take this as a semi-fresh start for him. I will not be retconning anything that has popped up in any of my previous comics, but I do have new ideas for where to go with this character. That being said, it is true that none of the 8 have appeared in Kubo's back story. This is because I plan to slowly expand on each of them in future fights and BBs. I toyed with naming them all here, but decided it would be more fun to leave it to everyone else to figure out who they all are. A few of them are completely new while some are old Void fighters or NPCs. If you look closely I did add tags to this comic that may help the search. I also plan on adding references to other artist's comics whenever something relevant to them comes up (* next to a sentence, a footnote that explains which comic that's referring to, etc) I want make it easy for readers to understand where this comic is coming from and where it is going. Void is a big place, its real easy to forget all the cool and interesting things that have happened here. Hopefully I can pull that off!

I'm INVESTED in this guy. What a cool way to bring an older character back into the fray, I love it!
