Diz, I feel like you were going for Calvin and Hobbs here
those sunday and week0dailly newspaper strips were forced to fit into really particular formats to make it easier for the publishers to fit them all on the pages. it would be ok to just straight up use those strips as reference for your layout for future kuddles strips.

Flytee, I’m glad you picked up on that because that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be. I don’t really tend to do intros well, and I thought that a weekly Sunday strip seemed like a cool idea for a character like this.

Your art's always really nice and clean, I can't fault your cartoony style. I also don't mind the unconventional page layout, it makes me think of cartoons in a newspaper. Oh, I also really enjoy this design! I love the ink dipped pigtails.
My main crit is this didn't work as an intro it felt more like the first page to a larger comic. For her next venture, you really should focus on characterisation and sticking Kuddles in the spotlight. I don't feel like I learnt anything concrete about her here.

First off, I love the limited palette on this, and the way you draw both Kuddles and KJQ is Very Nice. You've got their tooniness down PAT. That said, I'll echo what some of the others have said--while I love the slow buildup of shots, and all the closeups, I think it would've been good for the last panel or so to have had more of a wide shot to establish where these two are in relation to one another? cuz otherwise they don't necessarily feel like they're actually in the same space. Either way, interested in seeing where this goes from here!

I was expecting a punch line or something, but it looks like this is just the intro to this comic format, which is valid too. I would like to see more punch to future installments, whether it be a joke or just a dramatic moment. This established a meaningful plot point, but it didn't really have any weight to it. Love how you tied it in with Footini's Heavyweight though, and the way you draw both of these clowns is nice!

Not much to say, art looked clean, short and sweet. The only crit I have is the last 2 panels are kinda awkward. The shot of Jack looks like he's looking down and then the final panel is a straight on shot, would have been nice to either see those panels combined into a cohesive shot?
