spit spat, time to chat / Re: THE GOOD OL PHOTO-THREAT.

Photos of myself and my favorite hat, which I lost...in a movie theater...cus I took it off...and may have forgotten to put back on...

My most recent photo, myself in the Halifax Citadel Gun tunnel. This shot was taken in an area that was closed off by a gate...a half open gate, which we all know is an open invitation to adventure.

Just saw this movie tonight, loved every second of it. Christoph Waltz was absolutely brilliant in this movie, he played his role so well! Til Schweiger as Hugo Stiglitz was so funny. Everyone was so well cast for this movie.

New here? / Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
« on: Aug 25, 2009, 10:49 PM »
Hello all, figure since I have posted in like a few other areas already that I may as well introduce myself. My name is Josh, I am a former art school student with the Alberta College of Art and Design. I spent about a year working as a graphic designer doing decals for company promotions, as well as a little illustration. I am now working in full time ministry with the Navigators of Canada (I know, its odd to go from graphic art to ministry, but that's where I feel lead). But I still very much love to draw, illustrate, do comics, be creative. I do a lot of the illustrative work for the ministry I work with and still do a little freelance design work.

I found this site through Kenneth Rocafort, not him personally, but his online portfolio has images of his character Bacardi. I gave a read through of your faq sections, your forum, and some of the artists contributing to the site and I knew this was potentially one of the best artist communities I could belong to right now. Looking forward to getting some feedback from you all on my stuff, and growing as an artist through it, as well as making my own character to partake in the fun and games!

GO FOR BROKE! / Re: See wah? Seevah!

I love that first image with the giant dragon breathing fire down on folks. Its really well stylized and reminds me of those designer vinyl toys that have become all the rage. Very cool stuff man.

GO FOR BROKE! / Re: Art Dump

(Pi) - Thanks for the vote of confidence! I look forward to slammin out some sequentials soon!

Angieness- Thanks man, means a lot to hear that. I realized the font issues after I finished the image, and got lazy and did not bother to alter it, which there is no real excuse for, but yes, its something I aim to avoid in the future.

jho- Thanks, just the kind of stuff I am looking for. Anything you might suggest that I can do to try and bulk up the linework a little bit?

GO FOR BROKE! / Art Dump

Hey all, I am brand new to the boards, to the site, the whole thing. I gotta say, I really love what the site promotes and I look forward to getting involved in it as well. Until then, however, I will just settle for some art dumps in this particular forum. I am open to critiques, sort of the point of the whole thing. Looking forward to what you all have to say.

I'll start off with a few finished pieces, some sketches...blah blah blah...this is a bit of a hodge podge of different experiments as well.

I just want to point out that I realize that the one arm is short.
