1st off, thanks to Pyras for inviting to do this. I needed to get back into void. I'll upload the finished comic in the near future.

Atomicfish - I totally did one of those snort laughs when i read "Dead Cat Dr.". I like that you didn't use any black, that dark purple is lookin sweet. A bit short though. last couple pages could use some bgs but i'm sure you would have if you had the time.

Hobbs - love your stringy cartoony style. And that everything devolved into a night out drinking. sweet comic.

Julz - epic cover. I always enjoy the murder of innocent NPCs so as you can imagine your comic was a pleasure to read. Also Voltron. You have real nice comedic timing which I feel is a difficult thing to accomplish. Sudden end though, but that seems to something we all have in common here.

Bent - where yo comics at bro? for real though, I'm i don't get to see some of your crazy stuff. I'll be counting the days till i get to read a new comic from you. Hope your move went well. :)

Pyras - wow, that went from sweet to horrid in no time. I really enjoyed how you just ruined everyone's lives. Is that weird? Really short though. Pretty good for a "stick in the mud" comic.

Btw didn't share this yet:

Thank you guys for participating in this Game Night. This one took a bit more work to form and prepare, and as anyone can tell it was a rough set of weeks for most of us. But I'm glad that nearly everyone was able to submit a decent amount of work. The comics are fun and enjoyable (except my stick-in-the-mud submission, of course) and I hope you guys had fun working on this, at the end of the day that's what Game Night is about.

I'm going to take what I've learned/observed from both this and last Game Night, and if another one ever occurs in the distant future, will try to apply it and make it more successful than the previous two.

Thanks again guys, you all rock.

Bent, we hope to see you back around Void in the future once your life's back in order, and see more of your intricate pages~

Thanks, guys! The gray was to add extra for the backgrounds, since I couldn't complete most of them; so I had the comic look more like an animatic. I agree with my font, it looked better last time, so I'll pick another. This comic is suppose to be fun and silly and sometimes I get carried away with my poses being exaggerated. The sassy Miller pose is supposed to be sassy and I'm glad to see it caught people's attention.

Pocky and Animeshen: Thanks for the critiques. As some of y'all know the original intention was two different stories, but I decided I would rather draw two complete comics than one and a half complete comics, even if it costs me points or win as far as relevancy. Full Game Night gaming will arrive in a week!

omg these are all beautiful i love you crazy kids
FIIISH: hah! you hooked me on the first page! "Suck it, Miller!" lol nice callback to the first round! I also like Andy's expression being seated net to the Beast! Atheist Pizza Monster is funny too, but i feel like it ends sort of abruptly, and i think I'm kind of confused whats up with the zombie teddy bears? But i love the way you colour! yours is one of the most pleasing to look at to me!
HOBBIT: I like how you draw all the characters, the stylization is so great! And I think its hilarious that you gave all the dwarf chicks beards! I dont mind sassy Miller but like Gii said, theres something up with panel 1 page 2, i think maybe his head is too big. Not alot going on with backgrounds, either. Theres some great jokes though, I love "I roll to touch Nyasuu's tail" and how everyone kept ignoring the quest in favor of getting drunk! Great comic, I laughed!
JULZ, MAH GIRL! what is UP with your cover? XD its so bizarre, I love it! You've got some really great art in yours, the colours are fantastic, theres backgrounds and detail, and everyone has this cute characterization to how their drawn! the story seems a bit meandering, like you had a lot of ideas but only kind of breezed over all of them, but the jokes are hilarious! Dwarf Voltron?? lol WHAT? its pointless but i laughed so you're off the hook! XD PS thanks for the cameo! "Listen u little shit"  I am ROLLING!
HIDEO: its too bad you couldn't finish because you've got some great stuff! yours probably reads the most like an actual DnD campaign lol! I love poor May and Andy lol. "can i be a Jedi?" Theres some great action in this too, and bonus for drawing Beast of Void in a suit, that amused me XD not alotta backgrounds here but some great character shading! Solid comic!
PYROS: shit dude your comic is DARK! XD but its also really SHORT, I feel like there wasn't enough time to get the full impact of the story, I think it needed a bit more build-up. beautifully drawn, but not very well paced. also it only kinda barely touched on the actual theme with just 1 page of DnD ^^; but it is nice to see more of Park's tragedy and that will build well into future comics with her. It was a good comic, I just wish it had more gaming!
GOOD SHOW, EVERYONE! Game night comics are some of my favorites!!

Will write more extensive  one later, but this is my first impression for every comic--
Atomic: I like the off-color lineart, really nice touch to the very simple flats in the shading. I think some variation in line width would help out, since everything looks like it's on the same plane because there's no real change in color indicating depth; every object is colored the same way the entire time so it's hard to tell if objects are in the front or back.
Hobbtastic: Miller's joints look funky, but I kind of like it like that, makes it look really quirky because it feels unreal. Something feels strange with the gray, but I can't quite pinpoint the exact reason why I feel it doesn't look right, so I'm going to have to re-read this a few more times before I make a comment on it, or someone else points something out about it.
Julz: Nice cover image. The last two pages seemed rushed in the story, and the very last page...I did not understand what was going on with the three stories.
Video320: Make sure to clean your pencil marks off your inks a little better. It was developing nice until the abrupt ending. Wish I could find out what happened next.
Pyrasterran: Although Game night's theme was supposed to be a dungeons and dragons theme, I felt your story drifted off a lot farther than the theme itself. More like it used the very basic premise of it to just start a completely different story. I'd say it would be fine if it was another battle, but not this themed one.

Crap, I meant Mike. I thought it was her dad because the next page mentioned her killing her parents but I realized it was the Beast. My bad!

I haven't read this yet, but I needed to say it: Electric Boogaloo should be a mandatory subtitle for any and all "part two"s of anything ever.

Great roster on this one, perfect for a coffee break.

Awesome comics you guys! I apologize in advance for the text wall agh

Atomicfish: I dig the colored lineart! There were a lot of hilarious parts, I loved Buster's departing message (props for continuity) and Boom and Andy's attempts to defeat the pizza monster. The whole pizza theme was great. But to me the ending was really abrupt and I was hoping for more, like, at least more of a reaction from the players at the end. Also, the first panel with everyone sitting at the table -- I think the table is too small, perspective-wise? It looks like they're very uncomfortably crowded there. Overall, solid comic! I just think adding a little more to the ending would have made it better.

Hobbittastic: I love your stylization of the characters, but sometimes they're kind of exaggerated. Like Miller's pose on the first panel of page 3 -- his neck is really long and it looks like he's doing a sassy pose. Unless you were making him do a sassy pose, in which case his neck is still too long. I think your comic was full of silly jokes, but it would have been better if you had a more cohesive storyline to connect everything. Without that, it was just silly after silly and I wasn't sure where the comic was going. I'm also not a fan of the font you used, when the font size is small it's hard to read. But for a silly comic, I thought you did a great job! And with a little more time, I think you can develop your art style into something great.

Julz: My favorite comic of the bunch. You had a great story and you churned out gorgeous art. I really like it when you do interesting color schemes, like the establishing scene with the ship on page 3. And I really liked the formation of Dwarftron, not just because Dwarftron is rad as heck but the monochromatic color schemes really worked well. Kind of disappointed that it just ended with Miller kicking them out, I thought Dwarftron really had something planned there. Your anatomy is pretty solid, but watch out for shoulders -- page 2, almost all the shoulders closer to the reader could be extended a little bit (so May/Andy's right shoulders and Nyasuu/Meredith's left shoulder). Great comic nevertheless!

Video320: Your comic seemed a little busy to me; I'm not sure if it's because almost all your panels are close-up headshots, or if the lineart seems a little messy (especially with the cross hatching on top of the shading). I think it's both, but mainly the first. You need more establishing shots! I do like your use of solid blacks, and I thought it was sweet that you had Nyasuu switch characters. The story was okay -- they encountered a monster, they try to fight it, cool. I wish there was something more that could make the fight a little more interesting -- I reckon it was in the pages you didn't finish, so I hope you finish them sometime! It was a good comic, I just think it needed something more. Kudos!

The BenT One: It's a shame you didn't submit anything, but life gets in the way. Best of luck and I hope you find your art mojo soon!

Pyrasterran: Nice! You went in an unexpected direction and I thought it was cool how you tied the other characters' storylines to Park's, but I couldn't help feeling like the comic was just an introduction to something else. I still think it was a good story, it just didn't feel like a main story to me. Not a lot of Game Night and a lot of backstory. Maybe if you had another page of Park fighting the monster with her friends, that would have helped. I also think you should work on facial anatomy and study proportions of the face -- Park's dad especially looks a little wonky. I think it's because his eyes are huge in the first panel, and then smaller (and too low) in the second panel; and then in both of those panels he has a tiny chin but it's larger in the third panel. For all your figures, there should probably be more space between the mouth and the chin than you're giving them. Even so, awesome job, and I'm glad you took a different route -- it just needed a little more DnD! I can't wait to see the comedy comic.

You guys did great! Good luck!

EDIT: APOSTROPHES WHY THIS

Fish! The comic feels disjointed, the individual jokes are good, but they don't flow so well, the lack of setting or proper spacial relations not helping the feeling that all this is supposed to happen together. It could have worked pretty well as strips though.

Hobbit! The pacing is kinda awkward and it feels like there's no point to anything going on, so good job I guess? Because that seems to be like that's the point you're trying to make anyway. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean it's fun to read as such, it's kind of in the in-between point where it's not funny enough to not feel awkward and not awkward enough to come back around to funny, and again it's not because you don't got good jokes, the pacing just isn't quite right. It's subtle thing, right now you're a bit short on setup for some jokes and you run around in just a bit too many circles for others.

Julz! A bit too much useless intro, not quite enough shitty DMing, but pretty alright.

Video! I kinda just wanted more. Your art has nicely solidified while you were away.

Terran! I really like the concept, but it's just too fast! It really could have used with just one or two more pages to make the proper set-up, like one to pace out the good stuff so it doesn't seem like a weird nerdy dream paradise, and one to really set the destruction or the shift of mood. The shift now is simply quick, when it needs to be brutal.

My move to Boston and the job hunt I'm on really forced me to almost completely abandon this. I wish I had something cool to post. I got as far as rolling each character's stats and getting their alignments figured out.

I won't be doing comics again on VOID for quite a while. I must go on a spirit journey to find my art mojo.

Still, I can't wait to see these. Maybe I'll try to work on something this summer to make up for this.

Cherubas: depending on this game night, the next one might be a public entry

Bent: Don't worry dude, just do what you can and make the best 5 pages you can make! Some of the comics last time were short but still good.

By the way other players, the extension button is real; if you need it, feel free to use it :)

My life is determined to kill all time I need for working on VOID comics. I had to make a snap decision to move to Boston by April 1st, and I am starting training for a new job next week. I'm not going to be able to do the 10+ page comic I had planned, but I'm not going to turn in half finished shitty rough pages either. I have 5 pages that I know I can do that will still be lots of fun.

Sorry I can't keep with the theme of a longer comic / campaign game, but real life is forcing me to put this on a back burner.

This sounds ridiculously fun. My void character began life as a DnD character actually. I wish I knew this was being set up. Was there a forum post I missed?

GAME NIGHT 2

For those who don't know, this is a themed battle royale with some parameters.

The shtick: these characters of ours are playing Dungeons and Dragons together.

The twist: each character's class has been selected at random, one character will be selected as Dungeon Master, and all 6 comics will adhere to these selections. This will give the feeling of the party having gone through multiple adventures and nights of gaming with each other, through the 6 comics. As such all 6 by the end can be considered "canon" together if you're into that kind of thing i guess.

In the case of Atomicfish, Video320 and myself, our races were rolled randomly as well.

Here were the results:

http://youtu.be/jkPz_iSlwyE (NEVER using these damn dice again, so many repeat rolls <_> )

Miller: Dungeon Master (decided by vote)
Nyasuu: Dwarf Bard
Andy Heller: Dwarf Cleric
May Wu: Dwarf Paladin
Beast of Void: Half-Orc Necromancer
Boom: Halfling Fighter
Meredith: Elf Druid
Park Kim: Gnome Barbarian

Best of luck to everyone, and most of all, may we have fun with this and produce cool comics that reflect that~
