Invitational Tournament 2022, Final Round / Maple and Lily vs. VENUS vs. Maoumi by Drekkel
The invitational continues to provide some gems in the rough!  So April’s staff pick will go to Drekkel’s Venus and their role in Maple and Lily vs. VENUS vs. Maoumi.  Aside from their intriguing design, Drekkel proves they know how to craft a story with composition, flow and humor. Venus provides a lot of fun, dynamic and cartoony energy.  I am particularly fond of the page where they showcase the extent of Venus’ ghostly form opening up lots of possibilities for future comics so opponents take note!  I certainly hope we’ll be seeing more of Venus and all of our invitationals from now on!
