Well, I took another look and I misspoke when I said your backgrounds were primarily white.  So you're right, having her grey would have cluttered stuff up.  I would still make her grey, just make the backgrounds around her mostly white.  If she's grey than you can have the designs on her skin stand out more too like they do in that color shot.

Ohh okay, now I see what you were getting at. I'll definitely keep this in mind! more important to make the characters stand out than the backgrounds, right? haha.

Di:  augh you know I really couldn't decide on what to do for that when I was doing these? haha. I thought all the extra grays cluttered it up, but I'll have to see how it looks for my next comic.

And one minor thing if you do more in black and white; I think you should make Saria's skin grey and her shirt darker or even black.  With her skin white I forgot that she was purple, so the darker shade would help I think.  It would also help her pop out on the page since your BG's are primarily white..

Your art is pretty clean and I like your character's design.  I echo what has been said about your backgrounds.  They're there and that's about all that can be said about them.  Try to draw out your character's personality a little bit with them, especially if this is where she lives.  If she's such a slacker make her place really messy or something.

Don't be afraid of perspective either.  It can be a pain, but if you plan and sketch it out small and enlarge it with your scanner or something it can be more manageable.  Also don't be ashamed to use photos for reference at all.  My backgrounds started to get much better when I started that.  Obviously, we don't want to use it as a crutch, but it's a good practice so you can get more familiar with drawing them.  When I try to make up a place it is usually pretty bland and uninteresting, but when you pull from a photo or a variety of photos it makes it easier.  Even copying a photo is fine, it will make you better and the more you do it the more comfortable you are drawing BG's and populating them on your own so you don't have to do it as often.

If you're interested the best training resource I've found for perspective is a book called VANISHING POINT.  It's written with comic artists in mind specifically.  Check it out if you haven't already.

Cool character and welcome to Void.

You have a good flow of action going. It's easy to tell what's going on. No time skips. I like that.

As Greg already said, really gotta work on those buildings. But that's also an issue I have. :'D *thumbsup* We can improve on those pesky backgrounds together.

Overall, the comic is a bit.. bland. Spice it up a little! Play with some various angles, add some more shading and/or color, zoom in and out for dramatic effect. Just because it's mostly chit chat, doesn't mean it can't have some variation. That last panel is very nice- lots of movement and a fun point of view, too. Try and do that a bit more. :)

Really looking forward to your future comics. <3

HEY WELCOME TO VOID ASSHOLE

i might as well just post the stuff i told ya in AIM: i think you have solid foundations but definitely do something to distinguish buildings from just being vague background shapes, i don't do the best job of that myself but its still something to consider haha

also, try some different shading methods; it'd really bring out your work a lot better! I think you'll do fine here in VOID
