Hungarian Aliz Varga was a great surgeon some hundred years ago and well known for her beauty. Ever since her 25th birthday she's been looking for a way to stay that way. Fortunately for her, new body parts aren't that hard to come by. Nowdays she's not only a surprisingly well-preserved surgeon but also a bodysnatcher and an occasional suspect in murder investigations.
Not that they had been able to gather any real evidence against her.

Saw some good films last weekend (too bad the local film festival was just after the local comic festival, I had spent indecent amounts of money on comics and could only go to see a couple of movies).

Zombies of Mass Destruction was probably the best zombie movie I've seen. It was bad in a good way, and seen in an old theatre at the middle of the night with slightly drunken crowd around you it was fun.
Metropia was not amazing but good. It kind of reminded me of "Paprika".
Kisses was very beautiful and sweet, I really recommend watching it when you want to see a warm (well, kind of) and quiet drama. (I can't believe they had put English subtitles on the first ten minutes of this.)
Just walking was great, like a Tarantino movie without being annoyingly Tarantino-like. If you like Tarantino's movies I'd tell you to rather watch "Just Walking" than "Inglourious Basterds".

BTW, why was Inglourious Basterds so dull?! I think it was fine and pretty much what I expected it to be, but... It just needed more Stiglitz and The Bear Jew and borderline-bad taste. There has been enough cautious movies about WW II and c'mon if you're going to kill Hitler like that you might as well go all the way and make the whole movie more extravagant.

La Vie de Bohème, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Jekyll & Hyde was actually very good, altough it was nothing compared to the TV series "Jekyll".

Drag Me To Hell was hilarious.

Currently re watching Dracula Gary Olman is bad ass a Dracula. And the cinematography was excellent.

I had to re watch this a while ago too. I think the best part of the movie is Tom Waits as R.M. Renfield eating spiders.

I watched five musicals yesterday. It was traumatic, so I won't talk about them. Instead, I'm using this opportunity to tell everybody how much I love Martin McDonagh's movie "In Bruges" and his short film "Six Shooter". Anyone who enjoys kind of dark(ish) comedy should watch them.

After I got over my Suicidal Tendencies phase I went back to listening to The Pogues. It's like Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphy's but good. No, it's excellent.

Not my character, but I've wanted to try realism for so long, and since today I finally had time to do something that wasn't school-related... I'm still trying to get used to doing digital paintings.

I couldn't find the name of this in english, but it's a very interesting comic from Florent Ruppert and Jérôme Mulot, "Panier de singe".
It is kind of mean and has some jokes I'm not sure you're even allowed to laugh at. (Yet you do.) But the best thing about it is all the creative stuff like 3D-cube comics. It also sort of combines animation and comic, and is quite much fun to read.
