Iron Fist Justine
There is no such thing as excessive justice! JUSTICE PUNCH! JUSTICE KICK! Justine is Void City's foremost transforming hero, stopping the most villains and racking up the largest body count. She had to change to a red and black suit since the constant blood stains from her victims criminals tested poorly with focus groups.

Ivan Demitri -

You really think I'm gonna let Monday resurrect Black after I went through all that trouble to kill him? Over Ivan's dead body!

As one of the artists on this, I'll say it's not for the faint of heart, the unmotivated, or the hesitant. But keep in mind that this isn't a big publishing house giving you a rubbish contract and hoarding money, or a writer trying to squeeze free work out of you so they can reap the benefits - this is a group of Void alumni and other artists throwing their fate with a collective roll of the die. Monday, as our CEO, is basically in the same rickety boat as the rest of us.

I did my pitch, which at the time was a lower limit of 30 pages, while working seasonal hours (50+) and maintaining my regular commissions. It's definitely possible, but also definitely taxing. If you're interested in the zine but you understandably don't want to commit to monthly deadlines, just try out a one-shot. That way you can work on it as long as you need, put it out there for some coverage, and get some cash back.

We're not promising money or fame. We're just saying that if you wanna take a chance with the rest of us and make something new, and great, and potentially knock one out of the park, we'd be happy to have you.

Those're awesome! You're the first to tackle trying to draw so many of them.

I love the way you drew Chiyojo's goofy sideburn-things.

We need to fight sometime soon, Hats. I need me a witch battle!

I didn't change the dialogue in a preview, for once.

council and mods are in the very difficult process of selecting the 32 artists that will take part in the tourney
And here I was hoping for that multiple three-way pipedream. But that's probably a good thing. I think those multi-matches I've done skewed my perspective.

I have to say, I wasn't all that interested in the beginning, but interesting character after interesting character kept getting posted. It stinks some will have to be cut!

Sixtem with Chiyojo

Time to get my weeaboo on.

Have you killed more than I have?
I think it's like 19 different characters from the 3 SDTs I've been in (since I got to the last round each time) and the 8 I killed in the Death Royale. But we're definitely the two biggest murderers on the site, either way.

12
That's it. I'm drawing my design sheet right now. I can't let anyone come close to my record for most killed characters.

Sixtem - Haha dude, when I first saw this I thought Eliza was participating in a log rolling competition sans the lumberjack enthusiasm. (Is that actually cloth or a roll of carpet?) I love it! Thank you very much!
Haha, yeah, she's log-rolling a bolt of cloth. I don't know why, it made sense at the time. I'm glad you like it! Her cute, but simultaneously stressed out/sleep deprived, face is fun to draw. So is her outfit.

He must tell us how he did it.
Maybe it's like a magician, and he can't reveal his tricks.

Thanks, Hats! That's a cute Matilda and I love your style. And I find it amusing that you did Nacthe's as well, it's like a couple's gift, haha.

Woah, Who woulda thunk that i'd get FunFetus, hah! Im extremely pleased with this~ Wonderful rendition of coppermouth, awesome dynamic action and flow, my favorite little detail is that finger getting blown off, heheh.  hopefully i can get a bigger version of this from you sometime, i'd love to print it off as a little poster~ Thanks a billion dude!

Great work everyone, tons of fantastic entries, can't wait for next christmas to roll around c:

Hah, that makes two years in a row that you have Coppermouth killing people from above. You should try and get a fanart collection of it.

Your lines in general have a lotta energy to them - they're very organic and fun to look at. And before reading the little blurb about her, I thought she had a very French feel to her design. Like she looked like a French comic book character (which in my mind is a good thing).

I like those washes, too. Are you gonna add more to that page?

Keep up the good work, dude! I can't wait to see what you make.

Z-z-zombie magical girl!

I'm loving the grayscale with a few colors look.

18
and that makes it less true how?
It doesn't. But the way you said it is still funny.

I'd seen Perfect Blue but I hadn't seen Black Swan yet - I guess I don't really need to now, haha.

19
I like Aronofsky just fine. But I liked Black Swan better when it was Perfect Blue.
I'm sorry Kuro, but that's one of the most hipster-ey things I have ever heard.

Good to see you're still drawing, dude! I'd love to see some more polished stuff from you, though. Or a comic!

Though tits are always good.

But tits in comics are better.

Nachte and I managed to finish all 24, though my comic turned out way dumber than I could have ever hoped.

I chose ninjas as my theme this year, and next year I know what I wanna do: COMMUTE MAN.

That only one person submitted is made up by the fact that it was Fetus and that his submission looks fucking awesome. I love it when I see someone do a rendition of a character where they change details and whatnot to make it look how they want; it's way more person.

Looks awesome, Fetus! Can't wait to see what you do for a design, dude.
