@Dino, Yooo, actually I heard about Dead Leaves! Yeah, I gotta get around to watching it, I literally have it in a "To Watch" folder in my bookmarks. Anyway, thanks man. Getting better at art is definitely something I need to work harder on.

Okay, so I read these comics a couple days ago, and I'm back with some impressions. These comics are great examples of why you are both on my hitlist. Stefan, I don't know if I've ever seen a meaty, finished comic from you (I'll have to look back through your library), but I always love your artwork. Byth, your art is often crude, but totally charming and the pacing and comedy is right on point.
Stefan: I regret that I rated your comic lower than I should have, when I looked at this the other day, your 5th page didn't show up for me. So I thought your comic ended on an unfinished page with no actual ending.
As always, your ink washes are gorgeous, and your lines are expressive and striking. I love the cardboard city setting, and the top tier of page 2 with the camera moving down the blade of Bagman's cardboard sword is my kinda cinematic shit! Page 5, while not a satisfying end by any measure, looks great as well. Just a whole lot of Karma standing there looking cool. I can dig it.
I like your handwriting. Just not as comic book font. I'd like to see you try using a more standard comic lettering font and word balloon shapes, just to see how much of a difference it makes. For a pretty good example of standard lettering over hyper-stylized art, check out Ashley Wood's Zombie's VS Robots. For a great example of hand lettering with a twist, read From Hell. Also, just read From Hell anyway, because it's fantastic.
Byth: Have you ever seen Dead Leaves? Bagman's anarchy reminds me heavily of Dead Leaves, particularly his nose-picking demeanor in the first two pages. In fact, you need to harass Charlie into a battle, because I'm pretty sure a Bagman comic by Charlie would just be Dead Leaves. Go watch Dead Leaves.
I always love prison scenes, with all their potential for colorful extras, and you don't disappoint with them here. The insane warden, a T-Rex fucker, and a white supremacist snake? Checkity check check. I laughed out loud at that snake, by the way.
I also love Karma as the straight man here, and the inclusion of his transformation-suppressing neck shackle. I'm a sucker for security measures that contain some super powerful being in a prison scenario like that.
I know you would've liked to color this thing, but I love grayscale comics, and the spot color choices you made work well.
Can't wait to see more comics from both of you guys!

@stefan Thanks, man. Your comic was badass though, I liked how you did the action in it. And you utilized Bagman magnificently, I would've never thought of that cardboard city idea.

Byth:i love how funny your story was, loved theway you handeld Karma characters, and great expressions on the characters, haha the random weirdness through the comic works really (loved the repetitiveness in the dialogue of Warden the Warden ) what kozi said you lose a bit of the tighness towards the end of the story, but al in all a good and fun read !
Kozi:You're right, the font was hand letterd ,and to be honest rushed, glad you like the idea of the cardboard city(the main idea was that karma was a main villian in a Bagman directed movie) and yes it's too bad that i don't get to finish it the way i plannend it,..but with al my battles ,time managment seems to be my biggest opponent .appreciate the words !

@Kozispoon, Wow, thanks! Glad you liked it! I was trying to see long a B&W comic would take vs a Colored one (bout the same time, honestly I wished I colored it :/). But yeah, I'm definitely gonna work on my art a lot harder after this. I wanna make a crazy jump in skill for next battle. As for battling, *death eyes* we see...

STEFAN- If there's one thing that stuck out to me upon first read is has to be your font. I'm pretty sure its hand lettered ,but the style borders on tagging and scrawly. ITs not completely unreadable, but I feel it doesn't really fit the style of the comic you have here. I love LOVE your idea of a cardboard city- especially the clouds held up y string. Really creative take on the universe these two are duking it out in. As for positive things that stood out, I couldn't et enough of your action panels. The angles and dynamic action really makes a splash and doesn't leave the pages static or samey. Shame you didn't get to finish. I certainly hope you do!
BYTH1- Oh man, can I battle you? F'real? Bagman has got to be the most ridiculous and funny fighter I've seen in a while. Your whole comic was a wild ride of zaniness that I found myself totally enjoying beginning to end. I'll be the first to admit you quality isn't the best, but you more than make up for it in exaggerated expressions and a colorful cast of inmates. Like freakin' dinosaur that Bagman takes in manly fashion. I can't tell you how much I laughed reading 'rawr' with the hearts floating round it. So great!
I don't know if the minimal color was based on the fact you were pressed for time, but for me it works. I like that it appears to be used for focal points like the doorway on page 4, or the flames that ignite on Karma's head on page 7. You got some really great comedic moments in here- my fav being the bit where bagman makes twin blades out of the empty cardboard box. I just wish all of your lines and colors were tightened up just a notch so it didn't look so slapdash. Still, I certainly hope you battle more because I've become an instant fan!

I agree that the end or the progres of the story isn't really satisfying,..as mentionend time is Always my biggest opponent ,...although i might be a longtime member on the site,i know i got tons to learn !
Funny you mentionend A.Wood ,..love his work visually,..never really paid attention to his use of tekst balloons,so thanks for the reminder !
BythLhaha yeah now that Dino mentionend it ,Dead Leaves would be something yu should check out.
