Honestly, that was my goal in the first place? I guess? I came to Void to strengthen my skills and solidify details about my characters to actually make something with them. AND NOW I HAVE!

Crawford and Dane (and a third friend named Jackie) now have their own comic! And there's no worry about needing to catch up on any back story or hop across different comics, cause it's only 9 pages so far!

Read it in multiple places:

And a page or two just for good measure:

It's easy to compare an old piece to a new one, but what does it look like when you pull your single best or favorite from each year and lay them all out together?

You can blame Hats for this one.

News & Events / Re: |HOLIDAY COMIC| - SUMMER CAMP ADVENTURE
« on: Jul 14, 2017, 02:17 PM »
Crawford is not really the camping sort, but Dane is dragging him anyway. He refuses to remove his hoodie for any reason, no matter the weather, so he's not exactly prepared for the occasion. He will be spending his time hiding, ignoring people, drinking (he'll bring his own) and lashing out more than normal because he's cranky in the sun. Also sunburned as hell.

Dane loves the summer! Maybe not the camping part so much, but hey there's a lake and people and that's all that matters. He'll either be hitting on anyone who's legal (in the most obnoxious ways), and being a little shit in his coyote form. Spooking them, stealing stuff, pretending to be a totally normal dog to get attention. You know the sort.

(Edit: Damn that's small,  larger ref here)

New here? / Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
« on: Jul 11, 2017, 01:09 AM »
Hello Voiders! I figured since it's been nine years since I was last active here, an introduction might be a good plan. I say a week after I've already been bugging people in the chat.

ANYWAY! I'm Colin (that's a name change, if anyone remembers me from before), dwelling in Portland. In my absence I was doing comics sort of professionally, but only the color parts. My art's improved a tad bit but I was in dire need of comics practice again. And I'd found myself missing a community of wonderful creative types. Now I'm an architecture/theater student at a local university. Looking forward to settling back into this beautiful place.

Just gonna drop a few things by here, casual like, while I work on something.....

And a thing or two I did for school:

Sketch Up is indeed a great cheat tool. It takes a while to get stuff set up (the house took me two and a half days to build), but it's soooo worth it.

I didn't even realize I'd botched the link. Thanks!

That's even cooler! Definitely loving the improvement. Thinking of battling anytime soon with Crawford?

Thinking about it! I'm certainly getting fast enough to handle a battle among my other work.

Sketchup?

Also i agree shit's ace ;)

Sketchup is a 3D program that's great for building houses and rooms in. Like so:

Thanks! That background wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be--sketchup is an amazing help.

Having been rolling around the site, I decided to update his design sheet. From this ancient thing, to this:

Just gonna quietly pop in here ninja drop some art:

First, some of the boys I have elsewhere on this site.

A few bits of fan art (the book series Mistborn and an unheard of show called Chaos.)

And some dudes from a comic I've been working on:

And some much needed environment practice (something of an improvement of the backgrounds in my old battles, I'd say):

Slowly but surely plugging away at this color thing. Doing more practice:

wow, I didn't know you were a Voider! Thats awesome! Great stuff as usual, hope to see you around more!
(dunno if you remember me lol we were in the same fandom a long time ago)

Of course I remember you! And I've been a Voider for six years! Crazy how time flies. And I think you knew me before I ever came here. Back when Crawford (my first fighter) was just starting to be developed.

Shh. I didn't vanish for a year. I don't know what you're talking about.

The secret? I finally did it. And by it, I mean made the leap. No more day job. Now it's all comics, all the time. It IS my day job! Okay, how about some random bits of art?

And some color practice:

I hope that soon, I'll have the time to do an actual battle. Or finish out one of the BB's I've started for Crawford. It would be great practice, and a test! 3 pages in a week used to be daunting for me. But now I've done that a few times outside of the site, so I wonder if I could pull off an actual battle.

And, I have more drawings! This one was a birthday present for a friend, fanart from her favorite series Broken Saints.

Thanks, guys!

I return with more art, as I've been slaving away at commissions to pay for one thing. And all that hard work has now killed my computer. Which should return to life tomorrow night for I will work magic voodoo and sacrifice my bank account to bring it back to life. That is, replace it.

Anyway, here's some of what I made for people.

Line art of furries, which I have such a hard time with:

Painting-like thing of my friend's dog:

Mushy romatic fanart moment of characters from Valkyria Chronicles:

And not a commission, but a request for a friend, a tutorial:
