Chill out, Kuro, it's obvious this was his last post on the matter.

Loved the Vcast, guys. Only problem I can see is that a lot of the time you all talk at once, and then there's just a clusterfuck of white noise punctuated with Jack or someone else yelling.

Haha, Jack, remember all the dramas RJ you and I did? Though ours had homemade sound effects...

Haha, Jack is fucked.

I love the mountain crag, though their weight doesn't seem placed on it. Very pretty textures.

Commentary on the SDT and new battles sounds cool. It'd be really neat to hear discussions of various Void battles- even if a critique isn't about your comic, you can still learn from it.

Excuse me, sir, I left so that I could fap more often. And that comment was aimed at both of you babies, sheesh.

Is there another one of these or another Voidcast planned, or were both of those spontaneous things?

Oh, Void! I forgot how mature and drama-free you were! Why did I ever leave?  ;)

Pretty cool idea, guys. I loved the Voidcast, so I'm gonna listen to this when I get home today. Should be good background noise for drawing the SDT, haha.

Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse

Follows a corpse controlled by a sentient maggot from the Hell Dimension. He solves paranormal mysteries and closes interdimensional gateways, with his mechanical sidekick and drinking buddy Mr. Pendulum and his femme fatale bodyguard. He has sex with immortal strippers, and drinks heavily.

Ben Templesmith's art is really interesting. It's kinda surreal, focusing on texture and mood rather than background details and whatnot. But you still know what's going on. He's the same artist behind 30 Days of Night, the comic.

I agree partially with Eminkey. You don't need to strive for cleanliness necessarily, look at Jho's work. Messy and still incredibly high quality, it works for her style. Same with yours. What you need is clarity. You shower everything with hatching and speedlines kinda haphazardly. CHILL OUT. As for your text, I'd say stick with handwritten text-- but lay out straight lines with some tool to right your text on. That way it doesn't look sloppy in your bubbles. You handwriting's fine, you just aren't clear enough with it.

You have had this problem since forever, I can see it in a bunch of your work: You draw arms way too long and legs too short. Mainly the arm thing, the legs aren't TOO short, but the arms are hella long. Not sure what to recommend for that, but if you know the problem you should be able to find a way to remedy it.

One last thing that Eminkey touched on: PENCILS. I know you don't use them, I know you think they're the devil, but try them. You probably can't be as fluid with them as your straight inks, but that'll come with practice. I think it'd keep your proportions from going wonky, which they do (especially in your trads).

I created Ivan's original hairstyle this way. Not joking.

I've been reading Berserk and Blade of the Immortal recently. Berserk has all the graphic demon rape and dismemberment that you'll ever need! Ovary party for the win.

This thread is practically full of Monday fellatio.

Use higher DPI! That and do some high motion scenes/pinups/whatevers in this style. I know you can, JUST SHOW US CUZ IT'S PRETTY.

Wow, Zato. This kicked ass. And it helps. A lot. I really hope that you keep doing these Writing exercises, they're entertaining and very helpful.

And I almost spit out my soda when I saw that Ivan was in here, haha. But that fits him damn well. :/ Too bad the delivery of that archtype wasn't done too smoothly.

Resources & Tutorials / Re: Creating a Tridimensional Character

Magical Girl Mindy (Mindy White)

PHYSIOLOGY

1. Sex/Gender
Female
2. Age
11
3. Height/Weight
4' 8" / 79 lbs
4. Color of Hair/Eyes/Skin
Light brown hair with emerald eyes; white but not pale or tanned.
5. Posture
Straight and full of energy.
6. Appearance
A cute, energetic 11 year old girl, she's proper weight, she's very clean and neat, she's decievingly cute and bright, her face is round and her body normal for an 11 year old girl.
7. Defects
She has a small scar next to her hairline on the right side from when she tripped and hit her head on a desk. And, not so much a defect, but she's incredibly klutzy.
8. Heredity
She looks just like her mother, but she doesn't have any other traits from her parents.

SOCIOLOGY

1. Social Class
She was upper class before her parents died, now she's more of middle class.
2. Occupation
She works for the government. She's always on call as an agent for whatever mission they may happen to need her for. She loves her work, she's easily manipulated by them and she thinks she's helping save the earth. She's good at what she does (which is normally combat). She gets weekly checks and shipments of candy from the government as payment; it comes out of the black ops budget.
3. Education
She went through normal school until age 11, when she transfered to the Rainbow Bread Institute after her parents died and she became a "Magical Girl." She's a B student.
4. Home Life
Her parents died recently in a car crash, shortly after she obtained her power as a "Magical Girl." The government picked her up immediately and recruited her. They moved her to Void city and enrolled her in the Rainbow Bread Institute-- she lives in the dorms with some other students her age. She thinks boys are yucky.
5. Race
A mutt of western european races; would be considered simply American.
6. Religion and/or Nationality
She doesn't think about it, if she was asked she'd probably answer something like "All you need is love!" She's American.
7. Place in Community
She's rather popular in school thanks to her Magical Girl abilities, which are a huge hit among kids and fellow students her age and younger; even some of those older.
8. Political affiliations.
Doesn't think about that either; whatever the people in the black ops branches are that talk to her.
9. Amusements/Hobbies
She likes reading shojo manga and watching Magical Girl type series on tv. She LOVES candy. Cooking it, and especially eating it. Other than that she loves her job.
10. Time Period/Era
She lives in modern type dirty city called Void. It's filled with freaks and advanced technology which she has to deal with on her job.

PSYCHOLOGY

1. Moral Standards

She loves being nice to people and is obsessed with the power of love and niceness. Even though she kills people she doesn't quite understand what it is and doesn't understand the consequences of her actions.
2. Personal Premise/Ambition
She wants to become a famous magical girl and save the world.
3. Frustrations
She hates meanies and when she messes up a mission and doesn't get her government payed for candy. Also, being treated like a little kid and not getting her way (occassionally).
4. Temperament
She's optimistic and very naive. However, her nice, bubbly personality will flip flop to complete rage or jealousy at the slightest notice; she's VERY moody.
5. Attitude toward Life
She believes in love and helping people, and that's all there is.
6. Complexes
She's afraid of bugs. As part of denial of her parent's deaths, and the government telling her killing's ok, or that she didn't even kill people, she practically ignores death altogether as if it didn't exist. She's also absent minded and has a poor memory.
7. Extrovert? Introvert? Ambivert?
Extrovert, everything's very dramatic to her.
8. Abilities
She wields the "Magic Love Wand" and the powers of love and cutesy-ness within it. She can also cook well. The powers fluctuate with her mood though; good mood = cutesy, nice powers, bad mood = decievingly cute powers with violent effects
9. Qualities
She's a bad judge of character due to her naivety and government brainwashing. She loves cute things but hates really anything that's not.
10. IQ
Very average.
11. Time Period/Era

She's always thinking of how to help people and do good things in the future; she ignores anything bad that happened in the past.

There's a preview of the second character I want to enter, Magical Girl Mindy.

Powerz, that's just cause more experienced artists are normally faster. I draw them in about 10-15 minutes average. Normally because the damn paper keeps slipping around because I'm not holding it down very well with just an elbow. Oh fuckballs, I gotta stop doodling and do this @_@

And why is everyone doing middle fingers? Pshah, how unoriginal.

Damn thingy, server crashes and now my intro's gone. Oh well, easy fix:
Yo, I'm Jason. I'm 14 and currently a freshman. I've been drawing for a little over 2 years now, and I have one dream! To become the greatest Mangaka that ever lived! Fo' shizzle. But that's a dream, so it's unrealistic, I have a realistic goal, however: To just become a pro mangaka or game/anime designer. Oh yeaaaaaah, that would kick the major ass. ^_^
