I noticed the Invitational 2016 has a lot of potential, so maybe we can capitalize on that momentum and go from there.

To kick things off, I noticed Havoc and Sugar Rush/Spencer have green jackets with a similar collar, flippy hair, and like rare sweets.

Hey, guys! After all these years lurking, this is the perfect chance to jump in!
(I actually made the intro comic years ago and lost my files. A few times.)



Spencer Ribose is a student at Void Uni with a grave sweettooth. Unfortunately, he's also a diabetic, which means he doesn't get to indulge in many treats. One day while leaving the Uni he saw something crash in the nearby woods: a cosmic gumball who calls herself Melly. The symbiotic being proposed this: if Spencer becomes her host, he will be able to eat all the sugar he'd like. However, that's ALL he can consume-- oh, he's already chewing Melly. After blowing a huge bubble, it pops and encases him in a chrysalis, emerging as Sugar Rush!

He now has the powers of manipulating all sugar and using it to regenerate/heal. If he gets burnt? it turns to caramel. Sugar Rush has the power of communicating with all gummy animals as well. His attire gets sugar-fied, so it can change if the artist changes what he's wearing prior to transforming. His weapons are anything you can imagine with candy, sugar, or sweets in general (his main ones being on the design sheet).

His breath also changes according to how he's feeling. IE: minty if he's confident, strawberry if he's swooned, etc.
Personality-wise, Spencer's a goof. Likely to be hosting a gummy-bear coliseum behind his books in the middle of class and eat his own resources in the middle of battle from time to time.


PS: Any help with submitting the artistic proof? Is leaving it on my post here viable, or? Help.

Spencer Ribose, aka: Sugar Rush!

A diabetic student just enrolling into VOID University with a penchant for sweets and a pointy nose. Fed up with the tedious process to ingest even a cookie, a sentient alien gumball falls from the sky named Melli. If he chews her and blows a bubble, he gets entangled in a chrysalis to chew himself back out of imbuing him with sugar based powers. The catch is he can only eat sugary sweets for sustenance. Being young and quirky, he jumps at the opportunity. He can create candy based weapons. In the sheet you can see the Minty Mallet, his knuckles always equipped with Jaw Breakers, the Candy Saber which is really just a big, sharp Jolly Rancher he can lick to shape, and the Sugar Cannon on his arm is his basic weapon while he gets a hang of making other weapons. It shoots Sugar Energy in bursts or beams and can have attachments to shoot hot fudge or sour candy filling.
His suit is his clothes adapting to his sugar powered form. For instance, if he doesn't take of his fake disguise glasses they become visors. His scarf becomes licorice tendrils/tentacles to command. Also, those are ice cream cones protecting his ears. His goes from brown to blue and his eyes from blue to pink.

The idea is for other VOID artists to be able to create weapons and gadgets they see fit for their scenario, so long as they're candy/sweet based and if he needs a change of clothes, his costume will more than likely adapt to it.

If he is burnt, that part of his body becomes caramel. He can either wait to metabolize it back into himself, snap it off and regenerate the limb and then leave the caramel behind at a loss or eat it.
His breath changes with his mood and liking to a person. IE: flustered, strawberry. Kissed by someone he dislikes, sour taste. Confident, minty.
And his hair always smells like cotton candy.

Also, he can control gummy animals like bears, sharks, and worms.
