Ok so its abit silly how inactive Ive been lately, but thats mostly been cause Im drawing more traditionaly lately and I got no working scanner. Anyways have a few recent practice things that Ive done to try to improve my faces.

5 profiles of women, trying not to rely on cliches too much and also make em varied. (I really disslike the middle one, the rest turned out ok)

And here are some photo referenced stuff.

Ive also been studying anatomy and muscles from both books and photos.
Have some legs referenced from female sprinter Wendy Jeal... They look about ready to explode =P

edit: I guess I could show some real art too :P

and some sketches I did trying to make some postapocalyptic looking  dewds. The first two looked way too madmax/fist of the northstar.

And drawing from photos is something I already do. I just dont post it.

HEY KIDS!
Trying to improve drawing women from imagination while still not having em all look the same (I hate artists who only draw a single face for women... and there are plenty of those.)

Also trying to practice with color choises. I suck at picking colors but I think they turned out alright on these (these are actually portrait 2-5. the first one looked both too butch and had crappy colors.)

Your art is improving, and quite fast.

There is a great perspective tutorial thread here

It has several tutorials aswell as links to even more tutorials.

TheTimeDevourer dared me to make the good the bad and the ugly in a cute animu style. I think I kinda failed but I'm still happy with the results (infact, happier than I'd have been if I succeeded =P )

Please tell me why you call yourself shadowrenderer :P

That last one look liefeld-esque... But not in a bad way.

I'm a big fan of Rob, but I see more Jim Lee in that one... oh well...

Truth be told I havnt read much by Jim  Lee, and at a quick glance they do have pretty similiar artstyles(Id probably be able to tell their styles appart more if I actually read some of his sequentials)

Made another one of these tests and this time tried to make the face as realistic as possible. Sure it clashes with the body in terms of quality. But I just wanted to see how well I could do it.

Yup another one already.

Cheaped out abit on the pants and shoes. I was really only interested in trying out this new technique on muscles. But at the same time I didnt wanna draw half a person.

I did all of this at the size it is shown in here. No zoom even tho the source file is of higher resulotion.

Ink drawing made with a nib pen based on a photo of the almighty George A Romero (Director of Night of the living dead and all of its classic sequels)

Homework for school that I didnt mind doing at all :)

Afew small smudges on it, I gotta learn to be more patient when it comes to traditional inks.

Indeed he does, Im guessing he was older than he looked cause he doesnt really look fat in any other way than that.

I use the grays where ther are indirect lighting which barely shows, but is still important for the forms.
