Thresher: They tend to be way too feminine on the manlymen at times. Some good action, but you should push the story more.

Kinu, this was awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I really dig the experiment you've got going here, I think this may win me over more than Jimmy Boom!

TKDZen, loving the overall quality! I like your style, except for the eyes. They tend to be way to feminine on the manlymen at times. Some good action, but you should push the story more.

The art styles of both of these were so great! Kinu's is so simple and adorable, and TKD's is so gritty and intense! It made it awesome to see each of these character's in the other person's style!

Kinu: Awesome. Just pure awesome. Everything I love about JRPGs mixed in with some solid platforming. I'd play that. Also....ROCK LOBSTAAA. I worry that somewhere along the way the character doesn't get over used and turn into boring old gimmick though. I hope that it doesn't happen.

TKD: I expected nothing less from what I got. Excellent work. I was really excited to see your first comic after the intro and you didn't let me down. (Lad looks awesome, and I really hope Mammon is your next fight too!)

You guys' scores were so close for me. Haha. Great job.

Both of these were really good, I ended up scoring both the same overall. I think it's interesting that both of your characters have a sort of cliche that they're currently bound to.

Kinu - I loved the faint pixelated look (the whole art style you're going for is just great), but I'm interested to see where you go next with your characters story-wise, I'd say that it's possible to dig yourself into a hole considering the high standard you've set with this first comic. Personally I want to see it go way way more over the top!

TKD - I really like where you're going with your character! I was skeptical about the sketchy linework in the beginning, but it works great for action scenes. Some of the shading could still be more considered though, sometimes it looks like you're hatching really carefully, but it also looks loose in other parts, especially on more abstracted things like lucas' face.

Kinu - its that humor of yours that makes this great. An awesome blend of game and comic.

TKDZen - I'm lovin' this kung fu stuff. It feels very much like a classic Martial arts film. I want more.

Once I've read battles I almost immediately imagine me creating a scenario with the presented characters, and I will say that the JRPG heroes would be a difficult feat to pull off in my unviverse, but TDKZen was able to do it effectively. The gaming feature was place in respects and was done tastefully. The rough, busy action is a style few can pass off, but TDK is one of them (Amazingdavid being another of the very few) so kudos for that as well.

Kinu stayed within his realm of the 16-bit spectrum and included Leo well, but I wanted to charge you to be more creative in future encounters/interactions. It was spot on in regards to your "genre" but it was also a very safe approach, one that would only be satisfying to your (soon-to-acquire) cult following after a couple more battles down the road.

Excellent job, you guys.

Bobo: Awesome battle, both of you! I love how each of you threw a meme into your pages. Awesome. I also literally laughed out loud at the Pokemon reference and the +2 butts. Kinu, I think you definitely should have written the dialogue beforehand. The art was great, but some of the dialogue just didn't work out for me. TKDZen, I don't know what it is, but your artwork feels a little dirty to me. I think it might be a combination of lots of thick black lines and lots of brown backgrounds. I think you could work a little on making sure your line widths and colors clearly separate the characters from the background. Of course, some of this is just your style I think, so do what feels right to you.

I enjoyed reading both of these comics. Can't wait to see more from both of you!

The everglooms are slums, and i wanted to reflect that as much as possible so, dirty environments, rough characters(less so for Lucas) and slightly unsaturated colors. so thats pretty much my reasoning for it looking the way it does. also, i totally didn't plan on coloring this battle originally lol

Kinu, I gotta say I love the way you semi-pixelated things. It gives the feeling of pixelation while keeping your super smooth lines. The result is totally sexy.
Zen, the kid is more cartoony and deformed than all the other characters and I'm not sure I like that. He seems kinda out of place and that annoys me. I did love the silent stares on page 9.

Both your comics were pretty cute.
