RAN- WHO IS SMEER?!?! The public must know! XD
I love how I'm going to into these toon comics expecting zany hijinks and y'all are coming with some seriously unexpected angles with themes. A toon going to a shrink? And a story unfolding based off a third party observer? It's definitely a creative way to 'fight' but not. Also really need way to tie in lil Easter eggs of toon events and comics of voids past if you know what you're looking for.
As a newcomer to the site its clear you've done your homework and you've got a real love for adding your own special touch to the world building here. My only nitpick is that I hope these great sketches further develop into something more solid for the next round.

ZEENIS- What a cultural treat! It's so great to see a comic buck the usual default conventions of western culture and give us a taste of something different- quite literally! All the Spanish dishes and treats in here were not only familiar and charming, but got me drooling to boot.Seems only natural these two would bond over some nice Spanish cuisine.
I was a bit thrown by the scuffle with the redhsirt human NPC. Larry goes from a kid who needs protecting and lawful evil, to a bit of a snoot when he haughtily accepts the redshirts apology. I honestly don't mind if he's a goody two shoes or a stinker, but if you're going to choose one I say commit. Really hit it home and exaggerate it in true toon fashion.

Ran: What a good and wholesome comic! And also what an interesting take on a battle between the two, with having it so the two characters never actually meet each other directly. I do enjoy the setup, but honestly I kind of wish that at the end Nopalito had shown up to meet Larry with Millie; it felt to me like that's where the setup was going, but it never paid off. I also felt like the ending, metatextually, was a bit of a missed note--it feels like a cliffhanger setting up a follow-up story involving Smeer, but with the outside knowledge that Smeer isn't in Void and likely there'll be no follow-up with Smeer. So while it was technically a decent ending, with the knowledge that there will be no payoff for the cliffhanger leaves it feeling a little hollow. That said, visually your comic is amazing :D

Zeenis: Larry is such a precious bean omg. I love the way you portrayed both him and Nopalito, they seem like they'd be great friends hehe. I think my biggest critique is that sometimes it actually seems like the backgrounds are a bit too cluttered so it's a bit hard to see what's going on. Also, there's a lot of just waist-up shots; some more variation in shot depths would do you wonders! Still though, really great job, and I look forward to seeing more Larry!!

RAN: I love this comic. When pencils are finished, they're perfectly acceptable. Arts had some good notes, but I disagree with him on the past tense narration. The tone came off similar to a detective story, a common trope of which is the past tense narration of the hard boiled private eye. The way this comic pairs narration with the images in the panels is exactly how I've suggested several people approach comic writing recently, and is something I mean to improve at in my own comics. You use it expertly here, allowing the narrative to provide plenty of context for the illustrations, without simply describing exactly what we're looking at. The way you setup and resolve the situation utilizing all the characters involved is handled very well, and the cameo at the end gave me a real kick! So thanks for that.

ZEENIS: This comic starts off like a standard Void meetup comic, which had me ready to skim through it, but I was pleasantly surprised at your characterization of Nopalito. Giving your characters something to do and a logical reason for talking to each other was nice, and Nopalito's broken English was represented well. I do wish Larry was more interesting here, and that it had ended up as a little more than the usual "they become friends" comic, but a solid first outing. I like that you mostly stuck with a 6- or 9-panel grid layout. I look forward to seeing more from you.

Ran: Your cleaned pencils are really nice, especially the final page with the action. I do also like the story in general how it's mostly from Mille's perspective and how Larry and Nopalito don't even directly interact. I think my favorite thing though is Nopalito teaching Terry and seeing him win because of what he was taught was super cute. My main crit is the way the story was presented. It's all told in the past tense but it is being experienced in the present, it distances us from the story without giving a good reason to distance the reader. If you tell a story in the past tense you need some reason and acknowledgement of that in the story, like having the narrator narrating this to someone in the story as well as the reader. Other than that story crit great job.

Zeenis: Great job on your first comic and welcome to void, 11 pages in 2 weeks is a lot so congratulations. I like this story, it's lighthearted and pretty wholesome in an entertaining way. I also like your the varying camera angles you're doing working to include backgrounds and wide shots in your comic. As you do more backgrounds work on adding more details to them and if you're inking traiditionally use a ruler for the panels as well as to help with lines like walls.

RANTU
Amigo, you spoil me so much with this comic, it's almost unfair to the competition when it came to my vote.

I can't not gush about Millie.  I'm so honored that you borrowed her for this strip, I'm absolutely tickled.
Only thing I can crit about is the typos and wording, but you already know that.  I personally enjoy reading pencil comics if they're cleaned up, and yours are polished like hell.  Good job!

ZEENIS
You wrote Nopalito as such a good-natured guy
and so silly
I loved it.  The Spanglish is excellent.
I also loved the more lighthearted tone.  With all other entries having a more somber note, this was so nice to read as a sort of palette cleanser.

The inks looked shakey, that's something that be fixed with practice and time management.  You're already aware of those obstacles, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that you settle into your new job well

Because one day, I'm coming after you, huehuehue

WHEW! Barely managed to turn it in, although due to its rushed state there's a bunch of typos and errors here and there. The most glaring one being that for a moment there I misgendered a poor lil boi. I'll admit, I'm horrible managing my time. I hope you can forgive me for being just cleaned pencils again.

Anyway, this was a rather difficult match for me, as I tried to experiment with doing a more narrative driven comic over action. Granted, I managed to sneak in a little fight, but it's not like what I'm used to.

Working with Larry was very enjoyable and after the first few panels, drawing him came with ease. He's such a charming little man! I can't wait to see what you came up with yourself Zeenis!

OH AND BIG THANKS TO PITA AND CROCOSTYLE FOR LENDING ME THEIR CHARACTERS!!!

Submitted! Had to go with traditional inks cause life's poor timing made me start a new job and I was so busy with that fft. I still like how it came out though and I hope you guys like it too! Also Ran I LOVED writing and drawing Nopalito. He's an awesome character!

I made the most pained sound when i saw this match-up because you're both on my hitlist.

Ah well, I can hit you up for a battle another time.
In the meantime, I'm rooting for both of these very very good boys.
