Kars. http://entervoid.com/character.php?id=1665
I like the idea of Kars being this low level RPG boss floating around and haunting alley ways. Popping up even in the afternoon to annoy and toss riddles to unsuspecting citizens. Can't even get to your favorite ice cream shop without Kars bugging you.

I thought Apophis stopped being a concern...

You must be thinking of Nibiru. But I digress. ;D

These are great!

On 2010.01.19, is that Neil deGrasse Tyson? He is my hero, and our only hope to stop Apophis in 2029.

You should draw more real people like that. The challenge is they don't wear all the cool sci-fi stuff, so you'd see if you can convey their personalities with just body language, expression, and regular old men's wear house suits.

The landscape sketches are awesome! Keep doing those. A whole sketchbook of nothing but that. That's your summer school homework.

Yesterday, I was talking to my lady friend, and she was telling me about a new co worker. She said she was very pretty, but can't remember what she looked like because she didn't have any features that stood out to her. "It's like she has no face, you know what I mean?" My stomach sank, and I thought to myself, "...she's everywhere." /void horror story  :-[

I love the entries to SDT.

Ok which one of you council fags was watching Lost?

Actually, the theme description is cut and paste right from Wei's summer vacation journal. Can you believe it? Wei, how did you get off that island anyways?

Good luck to all participants!

Ether way, free "THE arts". dead serious.
I like how the guy in the tan shirt looks like a 28 year Marlboro man hiding in high school.

* How to make your own font!

ditto on that. i tried this, but the tutorial i originally used went on to use the program fontographer, & i don't have that. is that necessary? or does someone else have a better method?

-J
Making a font with certain programs (fontographer, font creator, anything that comes up when you google "font creation software", etc) is pretty straightforward: write out the alphabet, scan it in, split it up, arrange parts, rinse, repeat. I know of one font program that's open source (FontForge), but getting it to run involves setting up a cygwin environment, which would be another tutorial in itself.

Personally, I think it'd be more worthwhile to just have a tutorial on how to letter by hand, even if it means lettering on a separate page and compositing in Photoshop.

Ok, well with that thinking, lettering by hand would be even more straight forward.
Write words on your page, and make sure people can read them.

Aha, but there is more to it then that!

A good tutorial isn't just instructions. It's tips and tricks from people who use the techniques everyday.
Thinks to look out for, things to avoid.
Also keeping in mind, people who are reading the tutorial might be brand new to the software or material,
so what might seem straight forward to some, could be confusing to others.

Keep drawing everyday. Get more evolved with it as well. These drawings are very loose but look a little lazy, you look like you’re bored with most of them and quit too quickly. Spend more time with one drawing and really get into it.

Some nice shapes, but still seem very stiff considering the style your working with. Loosen up a bit and post finished work.
