Now this battle was a fun one to read

Pepper - HOLY SMOKES 7 PAGES!?!?!? man that is some scary output in just 24hours. I don't know what else to say besides great job! I also really like how your Mini's Complement the story and doesn't really take away from Kurdis and the fact that you just makes it flow so nicely!

Snagger - Your Watercolors are always a blast to see and I do enjoy how they look. I am not quite sure if I was following the story correctly but to me it seem to suddenly stop, although I do like how the Minis are looking after Kurdis and want to ensure his well-being, which was a nice touch!

Pepper- you're an absolute powerhouse when it comes to wholesome content. You're also clearly a very skilled technical artist, there were a lot of impressive perspectives and poses that made me want to take notes.  I'm excited to see what you produce in the future with a more forgiving timeframe.

Snagger- I like the little bonsai tree throwback to your short and sweet. This was a cute comic, with a pleasant surprise at the end. I hope Kurdis gets back on his feet. u_u
You're probably bored of hearing this, but your watercolours are cool and I'm glad there's someone in this community regularly repping traditional artists.

Pepper: thanks for the beautiful Kurdis comic! Kurdis comes in two flavors: 1) supermodel 2) emoting so hard he breaks the rig
you managed to toe that line, giving him emotions to show he's not afraid to crack a big smile and still have him look good doing it: that's gotta be hard XD. I'm also really impressed you managed to fit in all his old band mates, too. I have mixed feelings seeing them all together again, but I won't go into it here. you really hit the nail on the head with Kurdis' characterization in a way I thought no one was picking up on. like, he says these words in my head, but i don't remember ever telling people about it? wilde.

to everyone asking about my story: Yes, there WERE deleted scenes. yes, i deleted them to save time. my strategy was to lean in to my strengths and i lack confidence to tell a good story anyway so i decided not to worry about how the story reads. originally, there were going to be a page or two about two orderlies carrying the bonsai tree into the room and putting it on the table full of get-well gifts from fans. they would complain about having to throw away so much of it and of having to take care of Kurdis' plants and admit they only want him to wake up so they can stop throwing out plants. this would have required dialog and i wanted to do a story without text, since pepper mini doesn't speak. and i was worried i'd ruin the tone adding extra npcs no matter what I did.
so i was just trying to convey a collection of get-well gifts from all over the world, in various stages of decay and out-dated-ness. I don't think anyone caught that, though.
the ending: is kind of a tie-in with my next comic that's coming out, the battle with Saal/footini.

the black boarders: this was to try and convey how small the pages are / force you to read the whole page at once like you're holding it in your hand

because pepper is smoll. i think it worked, since strawberry pepper said it feels like a Rankin/bass stop motion

anyway, thanks for all the good feedback, gang.

I just love this comic so much ๐Ÿฅบ
The way you took Kurdis' whole thing and made it this heartfelt, introspective character moment was incredibly wholesome and poignant. I'm impressed with the life in even your simplest pencil sketches. Everything is full of movement and drawn at interesting angles with interesting shots. I don't really have any critiques that wouldn't amount to stuff you could have done if you had more time, other than saying that "Is mine?" on page 2 is kind of grammatically confusing, and would make more sense as "Does mine?" Just a little nitpick, but I had to reread that page a couple times to understand what Kurdis was talking about. Maybe I'm just slow haha. Anyways, super wholesome and cute comic that made me FEEL things I wasn't expecting to feel โ˜บ๏ธ

First off, I gotta compliment you on the presentation of these pages. Using that black surface behind your cute little watercolor pages made it look profesh ๐Ÿ‘Œ
I'm impressed at how quickly you knocked out these full color pages, especially with watercolors (which seem impossible to me, but I haven't really played with them at all haha). I'm not sure if the minis are waking Kurdis up for the first time since he's been in the hospital or if they're just harassing him while he's resting to cheer him up, but it's a cute little moment to see him coughing and confused with this little creature jumping on him with a cute happy face ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pepper: the most prominent word that comes to mind is Wholesome--love the vibe of this whole piece! Really sweet, compelling bit of introspection; I think the touch of melancholy is what really made the comic shine tbh. Your sketches are also really clean and easy to read, which is super important for this! Makes me not even mind you weren't able to line the whole thing, cuz you still were able to clearly get the point across.

Snager: holy shit man how did you have time for this what the heckle. Your watercolors are always your strong suit, they look so nice and give your comics such a distinctive feel. I'm not sure how I feel about the massive black borders, though, and while the art was appealing, the story felt a little.... empty? I think largely because there wasn't a real conclusion. Things just sort of happened and then it ended. Not sure if you had more planned but ran out of time, or if this was supposed to be just a brief little blurb, but it definitely left me wishing there was more to it.

Snagg: So cute, so nice. as I said in the discord: I'm jelly of your watercolors. They are clear and pretty. You did Mini a great service in your rendering and the story was pretty easy to follow. Interestingly, somehow, the vibe of your take reminded me of those old Rankin/bass stop motion vids... I don't know why exactly, but your take just make the idea of that very amusing to me.

Thank you so much for this battle. We should battle (or even colab) again in the future, with more time to make both oursides shine more. XD

Pepper; I think you have captured the hearts of many voiders with you cute minis, great pencils in the short time.

Snagg: your water colors are too notch even in such a short deadline, though the ending left me feeling incomplete like there was a missing page.
