Bat: cute! although, i admit, the story didn't capture me. zhanic and kyou become friends kind of on a dime, the conflict is very arbitrary both in that it doesn't really lead from anything and it could probably be used in any comic, and the ending is just a shock that doesn't really conclude anything. still, that's a good scar!

Moka: well! this was very extremely ambitious!! still, great jokes, i love your lines, and dang, introducing five more idiots??.?.?? i can't wait for what you're going to do with them but i'm afraid you might be overextending a tad!! your conflict was also kinda random, but it was random to the point of a gag, so in contrast i'm perfectly accepting of it. great enjoyable comic!!!!

Bat: Thank you for the two cameos, both were really cute. I think the strongest thing about your art is your expressions, you can tell how a character is feeling in most any given panel without reading what they're saying  and just looking at their expressions which is super important. I would recommend keep practicing anatomy and focusing on the torsos and varying up your body types more. While the story does end a bit abruptly I do really like the scar you did here.

Moka: You produced a lot with this comic so great job on that as well as attempting to do as much as you can just to see how much you can do. Now that you have had a couple battles, you should now know what you can feasibly do in a time limit and focus refining it that without overextending too much. The story suffered just as much as the art from the huge amount of pages. While reading I was expecting most of the stuff involving Iain to build up to future conflict (with the brewing potion and upset customer) but the fact it's forgotten makes those parts feel like fluff and padding. When you bring up these elements the reader expects them to be important for future parts but they ended up not leading to anything. That all being said the actual dialogue and characters were well done and humorous. the final page joke is also fantastic.
the biggest crit i have for your art is that their big has a really minimal design. I thought at first they were just supposed to be a non important background character and not the main source of conflict in the comic. You do great faces and designs on your characters so seeing the big guy devoid of any features besides the four arms was confusing. Despite that your complete art is amazing and it's always great to see a traditional artist and i like your manga style.

BAT- This comic was SO WHOLESOME I couldn't stop smiling as I read through the first half of it. Zhanic and Kyou are very pure, loveable characters so you can't help be root for them. The anatomy was a bit shaky at times. But you clearly don't shy away from drawing full bodies and motion, so improvement is bound to happen with each comic. I look forward to seeing it!
Background were a lacking in detail and they just outright vanished on some pages. I think its really important to push yourself to draw backgrounds throughout a comic so you can get used to drawing them consistantly. It was a particular shame here because a funfair was a really...well fun setting. It would've been nice to see more of it.

MOKA- Despite the odd unfinished pages, a 34-page comic is still an achievement, so well done there.
I think my favourite thing about this comic was the art- particularly how you draw people. The anatomy is pretty much spot on and I'm a little envious over how comfortably you draw male figures. Everyone also has a ton of personality in their expressions and gestures...I'm a big fan of stuff like that.
I would be really, really interested in seeing you be a bit more experimental with your style, currently its extremely routed in classic manga. I'm so curious to see how your art would develop with other influences and originality thrown in.
I just felt really nostalgic for old shounen mangas as I read this!! It was hard to look past on some pages...however If you're content with your art style feel free to disregard this, and more power to you.

writing-wise, the dialogue was funny and charming...and like I said earlier these two characters are so loveable >:3 I will say be mindful of your text because it was occasionally difficult to read.

The scars were both pretty straight forward, as were the stories. But I actually think these types of "monster of the week" tales really suited the pair and I can't think of any other way I would've done it. They both worked really well and were entertaining to read.

Good job guys!! I hope some of this crit was helpful

Man, Moka, I love your side so much. So many shenanigans!! I'm a little sad the action pages were so unfinished, cuz those are kinda some of the most important panels in terms of visuals. But that's something you were probably already aware of, haha! I think you could maybe try doing a bit more variance in shots next time; there are a lot of busts and waist-up shots, especially in the first half. Honestly, though, that's a minor nitpick that I didn't notice until the second readthrough, lol.
I LOVE the humor you put into the pages, though. All of the jokes were so, so good! Especially that last page, it's my favorite :D

Thank you again for this battle, it was a lot of fun, and thank you for putting out an amazing comic!! I love the way you portrayed my boy, it was spot on! And it was so much fun to work with Kyou~

These are two characters I absolutely love to see in different situations so this was a pleasant read, both of you portrayed the characters so strongly!

My child gets elbowed in Mokachans though, an unforgivable offense so I'm docking points for that.

Wheeeeeeelp that comic battle was many firsts for me. First time running so close to a deadline with so many unfinished bits, first time using a light table, first time using these new pens I bought, first time drawing more than two arms on a guy.... and uh, you know those people who try something for the first time and knock it out of the ballpark on their first try? I'm NOT one of those people. I'm the guy sitting in the audience calling bs that the guy didn't train in secret or something because HOW  do you become THAT good so fast because it HAS to be an AFRONT to nature to be that talented. Of course that guy in the audience has severe self esteem issues and really should stop being a dbag to the naturally gifted. Good job, hypothetical homerun person. I'm jealous.

Where was I? Oh yeah, I didn't quite finish the comic AND I have a tendency to do pages out of order, so have fun witnessing the total immersion breaking roller coaster that is pages that move from sketch to lined. I'm going to sit in the corner and wallow in shame now.
