« on: Nov 27, 2013, 09:15 PM »
Hahaha, what is that stuff? I want to know more about that stuff! That stuff looks fun!

It's a webcomic I started doing on my tumblr cuz my tablet stopped working properly and i realized i had so many unused sketchbooks called "Pink Hair and Robot Pants" All the illustrations are digital but the comics are done traditionally (once i run out of sketchbooks and finish my website)

For you anime kids out there is called comicstudio in Japan and is what they digitally draw manga with (the ones that do it digitally that is)

Confirmations and Invoices[/b]
I had a whole class on this for illustrations.

Confirmations:
Contract used by an artist when no purchase order has been given or when the purchase order is incomplete with respect to important terms of the contract, such as amount of fee, rights transferred, and so on. (page 349, Pricing & Ethical guidelines)

Sample:
http://i.imgur.com/hIOf96j.jpg

You should not start the project until you get your conformation back with the authorized signature because if you start and they don't agree upon the terms you may have just wasted time.

Tip:
Don't start "Client't job number" as 00001 or else it become too obvious that this is your first job and they may become hesitant on signing it or ask to lower your price, but also dont make up a random "askjeoag" in where you wont be able to organize any other job confirmations you have.

Invoice
Statement Given to a client showing he amount due in payment for an asignment.  Usually submitted after work has been completed.  If advance payments are made, the invoice should reflect these and show the balance due.(page 351, Pricing & Ethical guidelines)

Sample:
http://i.imgur.com/itIMO5f.jpg

This form tells that you fulfilled your end of the bargain and how much it cost you to do it which should be the amount they should pay you.  Expenses don't include things you already own but things you had to gain to use the project.

Ex.  If you already owned oil paints you can't charge for uses them, but you can charge if you had to buy them, because you would require you to make a copy of the receipt as proof.

Tip:
Best thing to do if you had done a traditional piece is to tape the on the back of your work as you mail it so they can see it along with an email.  As for traditional you should Email them a copy of your invoice as well as mail them a copy.

I got my business cards printed from them and I think theyre awesome.

Then again my card is so basic.

Also i recommend this book for prices.

http://www.amazon.com/Graphic-Artists-Handbook-Pricing-Guidelines/dp/0932102158

Also need info on invoices and confirmation.

Finish work Nomatter What: Ive been told get work done regardless of the pay or impossible deadline because its a good way to get future jobs.  I had a profs that won Caldecott Medals tell me that he had to miss his aunts funeral (the woman that raised him) to meet a deadlines for a book because the world doesn't rearrange it self for you.  Also NY times has a 2 day turnaround for illustrations and if you don't finish that piece they're not going to stop the magazine because you need 1 more day to work on it, they'll just drop you throw in a photo and you'll never get a call back again same goes for MTG cards.

Dont burn bridges: Don't burn bridges with editors or anyone even if they work at crumb bun places, god knows where they'll end up.  I know alot of people talk shit about Tokyo Pop but those editors now work at Marvel and DC.

"Anything finished is better than anything unfinished. I truly believe that.

All my books seem crappy and disjointed and rushed to me, but they’re out there, and lots of people love them warts and all.

Nobody would have seen them if I’d given in to feelings of inadequacy and stopped trying." -Brian Lee O'Malley

For whatever reason, I am having an impossible time trying to upload photos to use for my characters' pages. I even saved them for web out of PS, so they're only like 190KB, but it just loads forever. Oh well.

Still, I'm gonna add Zedan and THE BEAST asap.

Yeah... I had a problem the first time I uploaded an image, im not sure what it is, it might be your internet?

Im so happy to see everyone adding in stuff :'D

Remember all the links are case sensitive.

http://entervoid.wikia.com/wiki/Pigeon_Princess
http://entervoid.wikia.com/wiki/Pixel_Princess
http://entervoid.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Vinda

Also the codes for linking would be put inside double brackets like so:

Link to Godada's page
Godada

You type out the pages name so for "THE 2013 PRETTIEST PRINCESS DEATH TOURNAMENT!" you put
THE 2013 PRETTIEST PRINCESS DEATH TOURNAMENT!

And if you want to shorten it to "PPT" you use "|" so its
PPT

and to like it to a category page say.. "Category:character"
:Category:character

and if you want the link to say like "Citizens"
Citizens

Looks cool! I don't know if I'll bring Angie's entry over because it was such a pain in the ass to lay out and finish up.

I just looked at her Wikispace... yeah I think if i were to do it with work and lazyness i should take like 2-3 weeks....maybe less

I'll prolly start a list that people can sign up for whoever wants their wikispace info x-fered to the wikia so i can do it on my bored non drawing free time.

but for now I'm going to do the basic entries of the PPT entries.

Hey cool kids!
I started a Void Wikia because the other void wiki was acting really slow and I just wasnt having it.

http://entervoid.wikia.com/

Heres a basic Tutorial for you guys to add stuff, it seemed fitting I would do Goblin Princess.

http://entervoid.wikia.com/wiki/Goblin_Princess

WARNING IMAGES ARE CASE SENSITIVE

Once you guys make a wikia account and start contributing I can make whoever want to be an admin so they have more design power.

If anyone wants another Tutorial on something else just ask!

Yeah I JUST got a hang of it and re wrote the basic info box template. (which i took from the eyeshield21 wikia)

entervoid.wikia.com

Heres how the infobox template works:
http://entervoid.wikia.com/wiki/Template_talk:Infobox

And a sample of what I did for Godada
http://entervoid.wikia.com/wiki/Godada

I might work the template around so people dont get stuck on what to add but I think this is a good basic one incse people want to add NPC's or places

Also edit the wiki accordingly to what you guys things would work best.

Still not sure on why my images wont show up tho.

I was going to make a Godada entry in the old wiki but the site ended up being really slow plus I need to be given permission to add stuff sooo... I'm going to make a entervoid Wikia to and try to add in EVERY character that exist and put at least their basic information in it on my free times.

Oh i didnt mean it like its kamen rider theme or whatever that, I ment its like a those Japanese cafe with omelette rice, neapolitan spaghetti, fancy coffee making devices like a vacuum coffee pot or that green creme soda you always see in sailor moon.

They also have shelf of manga so people can read mangas and drink fancy coffee there.
