Wow, this really was a fever dream XD. Loved it! Your art is so pretty. I especially loved how you drew Nyasuu's comfy lookin outfit and the tiger. Such a cute and silly story that feels perfectly fitting for this matchup!

y'all ever think about how the last time Nyasuu saw Miller alive, she shot him to death, and the last time she saw Kurdis, Kurdis took a bullet for her?
makes you think

These were both such wild rides.
Loved seeing a battle of watercolors
A few times in the battles I kept expecting tiger king to make an appearance

Both comics gave me good laugh and your traditional styles mesh so well somehow (I know they did not need to but it's very pretty to look at). I suck at writing comedy and you both nailed it. Very impressed. Great job!

Well this was a wild ride, for *both* comics lol.
Julz: I do enjoy your watercolors, they look so soft and comfy, somehow. I also do really love the comedic timing, especially in the first half--the "what do you plan to do now" leading directly into Nyasuu pulling up a dating app was EXCELLENT, and then the "I hope he doesn't remind me of Miller" being interrupted by Kurdis being extremely un-Miller-like by riding in on a goddamn stolen tiger was -chef's kiss-. also Nyasuu's brain shorting out and combining all her responses into one jumble was so relatable and good, yes
Unfortunately, the latter part of the comic kind of fell apart. It kind of felt like you didn't quite know how to end it so you just kind of kept adding things until you either ran out of time or ideas? Honestly I almost feel you could've ended it on page 7 and it would've worked just fine?
Snager: first off I wanna say I do really love the way you draw tigers! Especially with all the psychadelic colors tbh. I also liked the back and forth between Tiga and.... whatever the weird spiky Kurdis Worm is? Wormdis? whatever. their banter was amusing even if the whole scenario and the comic as a whole felt like a.. well, a trip, lol. Which is I guess fitting since the comic itself includes a trip. I'm not entirely sure it's my cup of tea, but that's fine tbh! not every comic/story is for everyone. I think you accomplished what you set out to do, which is important. I dunno! It's a little hard to give critiques for something that's definitely not My Thing, but -shrugs- This comment got very rambly and wishy-washy and I'm sorry about that, I just don't think I have any real critiques that don't come down to "this isn't what I personally enjoy" so! keep on doin what you enjoy!

Ok, Juuls/ Picto I have my toasted coconut seltzer water, and smooth jazz playing, it's total freezer lock down outside, the mood is perfect for reviews so lets GOOOOOOOOO
First off: I was so so so scared I'd be put in a group with people who weren't going to be open to me, my bullshit, or kurdis' special brand of horseshit. and i'm so thankful I got you instead. I fee so fucking lucky. All i wanted was to make ships and make friends, and I think I got both. I had some sempai syndrome for you, but now i feel like we're co-pais. thanks for being so chill about all this.
I think my favorite part of this whole exchange was possibly us sitting around , making up outfits for each other's characters together. couldn't possibly feel more like two kids sitting around playing dressup with our barbies. I think i have failed to state how pleased I am with how you draw Kurdis. Though, I'd be fascinated to psychoanalyze why you dressed Nyasuu so cute and frumpy-chic, then dressed Kurdis for some heavy metal burlesque show. I'm stealing this. I'm also pleased as peaches with how you saw me bevel off all Nyasuu's pointy bits and adopt it. please treasure the roundining of Nyasuu as I have treasured the yassification of Kurdis.
storywise: it feels like two people were playing telephone comics with yours and I kind of dig it. I hope my dumbassery didn't cause you to choke and that this was indeed you just shaking off the dust off an old toy and that you had fun with it.
I'm so chuffed for the comparison to Miller. I know the interactions in your comic were formed off our discord chats, but you really did just go ahead and hit that nail on the head anyway. (i'm not sure how you got the idea for kurdis stealing a tiger though? :i'm scared emoji: i was toying with using that idea at the time you probably wrote this, but i don't remember telling it to anyone? jesus, the hive mind is strong around here.)
Though I refused to let Nyasuu openly talk about her ex on-screen in my comic, i love love love that you have that whole 'another alien boy?' thing cut off by Kurdis' spectacular entrance. 'yes, maybe she is still hung up on Miller and subconsciously chose another gray alien boi to cuddle. but superficial likeness is where the similarities end.' I kind of wanted to do that with my story too, but left it up to subtext. Nyasuu has a lot of Void History, but the girl deserves a soft reboot. HOWEVER to be with someone who has a similar Deal to miller, but made all totally different choices should be a fun thing to explore, if you want :powershy emoji:
my other favorite parts
- the way you draw tigers
- the way we both have the same exact materials
- The panel where Nyasuu's head is blocking out Kurdis' crotch: not just for the hornee, but it is technically sound and well executed
- how nice your drawings are mmMMmmmmMM the flavors are melting on my tongue
I def wish you'd had more time to plan and carry out your designs, but the improvised nature feels so much like an homage to how i usually do things, I'm sure you were trying to learn from my style, and I'm honored. I feel like every time I try to write him, it's hard to not get experimental and surreal with Kurdis. It's part of his brand. if you like 'fucky flow of consciousness' comics, Feast for a King is just Like That. and is Kurdis' favorite webcomic and he's got a crush on the main character (if you can tell who the main character is anyway).
anywho, if yall made it this far into my behind the scenes DVD extras and commentary , i just want to say i hope yall liked this because I full intend to hit Julz/picto up again and we have all kinds of Ideals and Plans in mind for these two. thanks to the mods for setting us up, fever dream comic true minus the fever
deleted scenes: when nyasuu slides down the pole and falls on Kurdis, she could have landed ass-down on his face. She's not wearing underwear in this comic because Julz requested it. i also was originally going to have the gods/altreality beings just straight up have soul sex but i was like haha maybe later.
