Hey Qyzdix, I'm not bringing the mood down. I'm bringing it up. That's how I roll. I didn't take culture barrier into account from one area to another. My bad, but we're all good now.

It used to be possible to see a list of someone's comics and what the average stats for each was, handy for picking out the exceptionally well-drawn or creative comics. Is there still a way to do that or was it discarded in the update to the site?

I really like Ryan Ottley's stuff. It has enough detail to look great but not take Todd Mcfarlane levels of time. (For the record, I think Todd Mcfarlane IS a great artist.)

I also like the grittier, more uses-a-lot-of-blacksier Jim Lee art in All Star Batman and Robin.

I like pretty much anything in terms of Street Fighter art. Not only is the official stuff fun to look at but it even inspires really great fan art.

I really like the art in Avatar. If I had a cartoon I would want it to be similar in style to this.

Similarly to Street Fighter, I like just about all of the Legend of Zelda art too, and it inspires some pretty epic fan works.

I used to like Ultimate Spider-Man a lot. The first 100 or so, before the artist swap...

Anyone familiar with Calvin and Hobbes knows there's a number of reasons to love it, but I'll go with the expressions. Great expressions.

I like Soul Eater's art. Yeah, there's about 1002 manga/anime with almost the same "style" but what can I say?

Also a fan of Jhonen Vasquez. He has a fun and simple art style, plus his sense of humor is pretty close to mine.

another fun fight film i did for my friend. i'm still pretty new to the whole movie choreography thing, but i feel like i'm getting better.

That was awesome. I'm a big fan of martial arts fight scenes and such. I think it was some cool choreography, brought some moves to the table that have a nice flair to them. I especially liked the kick at around 3:34. It was executed beautifully and the perfect reaction and angle helped give the illusion it connected. Great stuff.

No I'm not. Haha.

Enlighten me then, cause I'm afraid I am missing it. What point are you attempting to make?

I think every piece of fanart my character has (aside from one group photo of void invitational competitors) implies he's very sexually active and I personally would really just rather see him on a teeter-totter or playing video games or something.

I don't see what you're getting at. I drew my character for the sake of an art jam. This is 1 drawing out of many I've made, and even then it's MINE and not fan art. I meant what I said and this does absolutely nothing to contradict that. I applaud the effort to be an ass in a conversation that doesn't involve you, but you're completely missing the point.

When do we get to learn what this is for? As an artist with a teleporting character I'm quite curious.

Yeah. Fanart is cool, but it's more fannish to keep them in character. Leland doesn't seem like the womanizing type and Angie is... Y'know... Not into monks I'm afraid. I get that you intended it to be humorous, but I've been there dude. I think every piece of fanart my character has (aside from one group photo of void invitational competitors) implies he's very sexually active and I personally would really just rather see him on a teeter-totter or playing video games or something.

Do some "smile and wave" or "dynamic battle pose" pics or something. Gonna need more than boobie shots when you start battling, right? :)

GO FOR BROKE! / Re: Yon3's random stuff
« on: May 07, 2011, 01:38 AM »
Hmm... Maybe it's the chin. Stefan, put your finger on his chin like you're trying to feed him and see if that solves the problem, cause it doesn't look like a color issue to me, but maybe the location of the chin, which may simply be part of the art style (Reavz did stuff like that for instance and so does Scott Pilgrim from time to time).

The rules encourage me to do more than kiss ass, but this does re-enforce my high opinion of your artistic skill. Very good stuff here, keep it up. Will you be doing comics in color, Yon? I would really really like to battle you some day, even if only to see you draw my character. XD

I am really impressed by the texture on those patches of skin. She's looking like she could step right into a game. This is looking really good, keep us posted.
