What a great and fun match up!
CAB - Love Miranda's Bee Girl design is really cool. Also love that last page with all the cameos.
UNDERWOOD - TEACH ME YOUR WAYS . You should be doing comics professionally if you aren't yet =O Wow I am speechless.

UNDERWOOD- Its' clear you've found a sweet spot and favorite with this character and I am loving how you're delivering on the funny with Kuro. He almost seems toony with the hijinks they get into. The oscillation between your simple slapstick style to indicate a humorous part of the comic fits in weirdly with the fully rendered serious anime manga look you put up side by side. That's no mean feat as I think combining styles runs the risk of looking clunky, but you pull it off with pizzazz
I'd say my only complaint is that the training montage drags and ultimately doesnt really amount to anything. What's your boy training for? Why did the over the top fanboying stop once the training began? I would've loved to have seen more of his reactions and thoughts on the special moment with his hero as opposed to just 'yes' sirs' and 'ok's

Cab: This was a fun setup! Loved the meta humor and the fourth wall breaking, especially the jokes about the budget, hehe. The majority of my crits are stuff I've said before so I'll leave those out and instead say I wish there was a bit more to this comic! It felt like it ended right as it got started. Would've liked to have seen where this was headed!
Underwood: Despite the rather comedic start I actually really liked the training storyline you went with. It felt like a fun little tribute to the anime training story, and I really liked the interaction between Kuyi and Rey! I agree though that the style shifts, while impressive, made it kinda hard to tell who was who. It's cool that you can master such a wide variety of styles, but imo if you're going to switch styles in a comic, it needs to serve a purpose; there were several times where it just kind of felt like it came out of nowhere, like at the end of page 3: there's no real significant change in tone, nor is it a particularly noteworthy moment to have Kuyi being excited to go see his friends, so the sudden style shift on drawing him really threw me off and it took me a bit to realize he was supposed to be the same character (I think the biggest thing that threw me was suddenly coloring his hair solid black instead of using the hatching--which read more like this character having an entirely different hair color tbh). By contrast, the style shift works between pages 6 and 7 because it's a significant change in tone and in location.

Cab - I like the way this is framed as an episode of a tokusatsu-type show, and it was fun seeing Miranda redesigned to fit. Her pose and the “ohoho” really make it.
Underwood - BOBO’S BURGERS! Okay, on a serious note, I really enjoyed this! It was surprisingly heartwarming. I never know what I’m gonna get with your comics, but you seem to do every mood well! This really captured the vibe of a slightly cheesy but full of heart training episode, the last page has such warm vibes. I also loved the fucking forehead flick that sends Kuyi flying XD
When suited up he’s unmistakeable, but a lot of the time I find it hard identifying Kuyi as he seems to look different in every comic and sometimes within the comic itself, as with this one. The style itself also fluctuated a lot. I know you can do consistency so I’m guessing this was an intentional choice? Frequent style changes work for humourous comics imo, but here it’s disorientating and detracts from an otherwise excellent comic.

I haven't read the comics yet beyond checking that you both showed both characters in them, but I had to chime in to ask how you could do my boy Special Friend like that? >:T

For at least my half of the story, its a Totally Non-canon Silly Tokusatsu Team Up summer movie event like the real Tokus did, before the Covid times, so just sit back and enjoy the strangeness that is this tale.
