Think you'll have something?

//hacker voice I'm in!
Still in?

I think I could rise from the grave and give this a whirl again.
Ill send an official email once I've got a solid concept and start.
Ever get that solid start?

Nice, i think i can manage 4 pgs :>
Still in for four pages?

Definitely up for this!
Still up for it?

I'm interested in being a participant!
I have a note that says you were asked this last week, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.  So... still interested?

I can't commit to this just yet, but I am interested, so I'll keep this on my radar.
How's your radar look?

Next week I'll know for sure if I'm in or not.
How's it look?

News & Events / Pulpo Flies Again!
« on: Sep 18, 2017, 04:02 PM »
Like the proverbial citrus-based octo-phoenix of yore, Pulpo flies again!

William Duel and I are putting together a new Pulpo.  We've already reached out to a few people (both old-school and new) to gauge interest and are now ready to invite everyone to participate.  See full details below.

If you plan to contribute, please let us know by sending an email to pulpo@ enterVOID.com.  We'll check in periodically with contributors to make sure things are progressing.  That email address can also be used for any questions you may have, though we're both reachable on other platforms as well.

Let's get started!

Details:
No VOID Characters
No theme
January 31st deadline
Comics to be 4 - 20 pages long
6in. x 9in. Page size
(Each page must have a 1/8" (0,125 in) bleed on each side.)
B/W interior at 300 DPI
(All files must be sent in CMYK, with a Fogra 39 colour profile.)
Fonts should be embedded or converted into curves/outlines.
Cover artist TBD

3
Things should be back to the way they were.  If not, please let one of us know.

Big hand to Red and Angie for slogging through hundreds of comics manually.  Another big hand to Bobo for supplying a crucial back-up.  And nothing for me for fucking it up in the first place.

VOID Characters and Comics / Re: Challenges Thread
« on: Mar 03, 2016, 09:16 PM »
Actually seems like a problem issuing Artist Match challenges to anyone.  Looks like the page is timing out, so it's probably getting stuck in an infinite loop somewhere.

Send an email with all details to Staff[member=776]enterVOID[/member].com when you want this set up.

I'll try to look into it over the weekend.

but maybe something is wrong it's like I have been challenging Sean for about a week and he doesn't see it and can't respond and I see it or I get an internal server error
I can set this up manually after I get back from the gym, but this isn't much to go on.  A screenshot of the internatl error would help, if you're able to snag one.

The link for Murderfest Skinner vs. Charlie leads to the wrong comic

There are a few snippets of code that will give you an avatar even if one isn't set.  One of these is now in place for the nav bar.

Also, I agree with your point.  It wouldn't take my 100x100 pixel avatar, but did take it once I lowered it to 50x50.  I'm not sure what the restrictions are myself, but if I find out, I'll look for a way to add that information to the page.

Quick q about BB's/awards. Does doing a BB break your winning streak now? Is that something that changed in the last year?
It might, even though it shouldn't.  I'll be looking into this and more regarding Awards soon.

My notifications circle is red and active, but there seems to be no new messages.
This should be fixed now.  It was lit up for Staff to post a comic, but without a Staff check, it was lighting up for everyone.

I think I found a bug in the collapse icons (the arrows on the right of the headers on the main page)

News collapses fine, but when you collapse Comics to Vote On, it also collapses News.
Fixed

Yeah.

When the time comes, I'll make a big post about it.

Oh yeah: BRING THE BACKGROUND BACK and the header imagesss
Background image is a maybe.  There's something I wanted to try but didn't get the chance to before going live.

Header images...
The old ones aren't going to work on the new theme.  New ones are being discussed, and I'm sure we'll come up with something.  What's there now was simply an example meant as a proof of concept.  I'm not sure they're in their 'final form' yet, but once we're sure how we're moving ahead, a post will go up spelling out how the community can create new ones.

I have no idea how technical this is but users being able to directly upload their custom thumbnails without emailing would be great!
Going on the list!

I like the floating "maintenance continues" thing here, since you can't really miss it. maybe you could use something of a similar fashion for upcoming events in the future? like a headline and then a link to the actual news page for details?
That's the plan!

Delete Manager

Could you reconsider? The Manager is the only to access the webcomic manager, it's minor but it gets annoying having to go through "manage my characters" to get to the manager.
It's back.  For now.  But I'm still going to try and eliminate it by moving these links and functionality elsewhere.

I was under the impression no one was using webcomics, so I may have questions for you in the future.

I know we've had hitlists and playlists and I'm not sure if we have the feature I'm going to suggest but can we have a notification?  Like if we follow an artist we really like, is there a way we could get like an email or pm notification when that artist posts a comic?
I very much want the same.  Going on the list!

when you click the forum tab you get "Latest Topics" under the forum but if you go into the forum the latest topics vanishes- I liked that, or somethin at least to show what topics have been recently updated while I'm in the forum.
This is back now, pretty much everywhere.

Or like how the buttons used to turn red if theres unread topics inside like the "art jams" icon or whatever.
Indeed.  I tried to make one, but my image editor wasn't up to the task and I haven't downloaded something better yet.  That said, if anyone wants to make one for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.  My plan was to simply take this and turn it red:

on a high resolution screen, the comic pages get all cramped on one side like so:

And when you try to post a picture that's larger than the forum limits, it doesn't resize it like it used to? Yeah, it just cuts it.
Cant click on it to see it properly either.
The site's new theme that was released last week was Step 1 of a whole host of planned changes and improvements for throughout the site.  Since the changes were done 'in place' instead of separate from the live site like I normally do, I was limited to how much I could change while 99% of the site were still on the old, then-current, theme.

That said, I have an idea for comic thumbs... and it will likely forever break the custom thumb collage images some people have used over the years.

Actually have comics on the 'home' page.

Where is side bar??? Yeah I have same things on top of the page, but it's really hidden and I liked the side bar....
Both should now be back

Also I feel like the website has really template-ish and general feel to it, it's... to light?
I don't know what to tell you

On another note:
When Herz/Hirn/Egon applied for an open challenged, it made my little alarm bell orange saying "You have 1 challenge" which is a little odd cause it can be confusing and seem like the challenge is specifically for YOU and not just an open challenge. Also I cannot get the alert to go away- it stays orange and active no matter if I accept the challenge or click it and ignore the challenge.
I don't doubt this is real, but I can't recreate it.  Someone please let me know the next time this happens.

Firefox:

Chrome [not logged in]:

I then logged into chrome and it just had an issue similar to the firefox one/with the text bleeding down when you hover over the links.
This should now be fixed

Also, quote-button still doesn't work for me.
"Insert Quote" in the Topic Summary while replying?  That hasn't worked for me in a long time, though I've never looked into it.  Adding to the list.

The font/spacing/style of the top bar links are different in the front page and sub pages.
EDIT: the right padding/margin is different.
That was mildly annoying me while developing the current skin.  Not entirely sure what to do about it, though.  I'll see what I can do, but may have to live with it for a while.

There doesn't seem to be an option to properly delete or edit tags, any new one you enter automatically deletes everything else you've previously entered. Also it shows an error page whenever you try to update them! (says you can't make any changes to the comic, but it does update)
Tags, in my opinion, never worked that well to begin with.  For the moment, I don't care that they're more broken than they used to be - I'll be overhauling the entire system soon.  What I may do is disable the feature for now so people don't frustrate themselves.

I don't think both of these are suppose to say vs Kars haha
It should just be:
Boom and Meredith vs Kars
Boom and Meredith vs Herz/Hirn/Egon
This should be fixed, though I didn't get a chance to verify.  Please let me know if you still see issues.

This should be fixed now (I actually just removed the mouseover text for now.  I'll address it for real later)
