"That title doesn't even make sense"
 -Anish Armit r.i.p.

Well poop. That was all kinds of roller coaster suspenseful I'll they'll you whut. The last 8 hours of that thing was insane. First off I want to thank everyone who took the time to read and vote for these through out the tournament. And there will be a beyond battle of the goblin's war to dethrone the monster (mother) queen. I have been telling myself since I created the character and wrote the summary that if she made it through alive I'd finish her quest for the Goblin/monster throne. So that is in the works I'll sing up for a time once I figure out how it'll roughly flesh out. :)

Le Fred: man my hat is off to you. Every round you had me laughing at the end of every battle. I am glad we had the chance to be in the same round. You are very talented and provided a very fun set of characters to work with! I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.

Joshua: thanks. And. You are right I forced text into pages cause I had plotted out a 20 to roughly 24 page thing but by Monday it became clear to me that my powers of bending space and time have rusted or never existed at all. So I just truncated, when I should have just cut out.

Puzzle thing: editing and conecting every background line ended up being the training wheel that fell off the bus in a 14 page in 1 week story. I originally even uploaded pages where the black text was accidentally set to white. I corrected that first instead of closely reading through the pages. But poor time management on my part for sure. I am curious as to what sort of dark humor you felt was lacking, so I can make sure it is in the upcoming beyond battle. Cause I thought the stuffed princess nurse as an end table, a decapitated head crashing trough the door, Anish sleeping on a severed toe, and my princess eating the toe was in step with my past dark humor.

Synje: thanks for convincing me to enter and helping to knock of some heavily encrusted rust. You're right I didn't reread my text till the morning after and there was no pill to fix that débâcle. But in October your little wench shall have her day.... Unless this princess dies fighting her mom in a beyond battle and I steal your thunder in a cock block of epic proportions! (Note to self that is not a horrible idea)

All hail the new queen!
Congratulations, Adam. I hope you continue and show us what happens when a Goblin Princess eats giant toes, I'm all intrigue for the transformation.

Also, considering I survive a bit farther with each passing tournament, I'm basically bound to win the next one, right?
...right?

Awesome comics guys! these comics are final-round-level great.

Adam@ your drawing is really cool, I enjoy the variety in your character designs, and you have some sweet layouts, good job designing with limited colors. I do feel like in some pages and panels there is too much text.  TL;DR in some cases.. walls of text, especially a non hand-written font, clashed with the nicely designed art. i started to ignore the words, and just read the pictures. I think you should try to stretch out the pacing when you have a lot of info or story to convey, or edit and slash out dialogue,etc.. that doesn't directly support the story.

Le Fred, you've really crafted an engaging story here. From the first page I was invested in the characters, despite not knowing them or their back-stories. great balance of showing and telling, you really used color to set the mood well. Also, the heavy stakes in your story were well offset by moments of humor which was great. The art was a bit sloppy in parts, but some parts it was really great.

My apologies, and disclaimer, this is the only comic I have read from this tourney, so my reviews come from a perspective of only seeing what is presented here.
All this said, titan effort for 1 week, wow. Critique is kind of an afterthought, great job kicking the shit out of a 1 wk deadline and making a lot of sweet pages guys.

Right off the bat dude, please get someone to proofread your stuff. It's such an easy thing to fix, and it's terrible when such a tiny problem gets in the way of the story you're trying to tell.

Make sure you draw your lines up to each other. There are a whole bunch of spots where the lines making up stuff in the background end prematurely instead of passing behind something in the foreground. It ruins the sense of space in the shot. Don't be afraid of accidentally drawing too far, your totally skilled enough to avoid that.

Besides that it's a great comic dude, lovely art as always. I wasn't super into the story this time, I felt like it lacked alot of the great dark humor that got you here. The finals are totally the best place to finally tell us whats going on with Goblin Princess though!

Le Fred               -

AHHH MAAAAAAN, That's totally the format I wanted to go with for the finals too! Action alternating with dialogue!

At first I was worried you were gonna go totally serious on us, and I wouldn't get any of that sweet sweet whimsical dialogue, but then it started bubbling up and I was grinning like an idiot. And even as funny as the talking was, I was totally worried the whole time, and my heart almost broke when I thought PFKAP wasn't gonna make it. Ahahaha but man, the landlord goblin and the god princess ahaahahahahaha

I think the colouring style is really interesting, and suits the mood, but it does get a little photoshop-y sometimes. A few textured brushes among all the super smooth digital rendering would've helped break it up a little. Besides that though, I really really like it. The two colour's did a great job of keeping the separate parts of the story distinct. Like, the first time I turned to a differently coloured page, I instantly knew it was a flashback. I didn't have to think about it all, and it's a great way to intermingle story with a situation so frantic there's no room to talk. I would have changed the colour scheme again after Goblin Princess dies though, to create a new mood for the scene.

          Your expressions are so much better in this comic dude, like whoa. This was the perfect time to push that too, because without it this comic just wouldn't have worked. Amazing work dude, I'll always be sad I never got to see what a Pigeon Princess comic would've looked like from you ;_;

You both are so incredible, I hope you guys are just bursting with pride, because you deserve it. You're both crazy animal monster art machines!

Both of you guys are awesome, straight up.

Adam: Great comic, fucking 14 pages, crazy! I love the little things you put in there. Its like seeing the whole tournament in your entry. Some typos pull me out of it a bit though. You made me want more and I'm coming for you in October if you win this thing.

Le Fred: I love your comics and your writing is amazing. I like the mood you put on this thing but i'm not a fan of the art style you used here, was looking forward to seeing the style you've been using in your other battles, but solid comic man.

I replaced Adam@!'s thumbnails with the ones he sent me, although for some reason they're not showing up on my computer. Maybe they'll show up for other people though.

Le Fred : let me be the first to say. Holy hell that was awesome! Man I knew you'd come out with some pure Anish gold and, well, obviously you spend as much time making comics as you do dancing. Because that was a masterful dissplay of skill, I loved it. Great job! And, as ever, you made me crack a smile multiple times during the read, so thank you to a great start to my morning.

G'damn son

P.s. the lighting and mood you pulled off! Loved it :)

And I'd hoped to not finish at the very last minute for once... hahhahaha, RIGHT.
Good luck, Adam,  I was in love with your princess from the moment I laid eyes on her, and my only regret is not having more time to spend on her. (well, and not fighting puzzlething) May the prettiest of all win!

If anyone needs me, I'll be dead, thank you.

ps. this was a rockin' tournament.

Oh LeFred LeFred...

All I can say is.... go back on vacation!

Lol Puzzle followed by you, someone on the council hates me lol. But I shall enjoy this one I have been an Anish fan since round 1. But some times you just got to hurt the ones you love... and other times you have to disembowel all they hold dear...

Good luck man. as long as it's .10% less luck then I have this round :)

ADAM!
Well, I did really really want to fight Goblin Princess. But you ruined my chance at the most perfect rematch with Puzzlething... so prepare for PAIN.
 I mean LOVE.
No, pain. Or... both? Confused feelings, it might get kinky.
