VOID Characters and Comics / Re: Character Voices
« on: Jun 16, 2016, 06:44 PM »
Ah I'm super bad at these cause I always have about 20 different ideas of what a character should sound like Plus I'm just super bad at celebrity names but I think these works! I think, when I picture Abby, I get a real Leah Clark vibe? There aren't too many clips of her just talking online but I found a couple so you can get a general vibe of how she sounds. The first one is from a demo of all the voice actors but, I cut to her part and the second is video that is a compilation of various voices she's done. Still get more of a Rubi voice but hey, options are rad!

Maybe a mix of the two? ; v; this is why I don't like deciding things.

Hello future friends I thought I'd drop this now that I'm officially enrolled into the invitational!

I mostly go by Nana on the interwebs and have been for about 5-6 years I would say simply because it's a family nickname that I'm comfortable sharing! Plus it rhymes with bananas so usernames are too hard to come by :D I've been doing art seriously for about 5 years, took a break for a year as college got underway, and thought Void would be a great place to up my skills and learn various things that google images cannot express.

Cool facts about me: I started doing kickboxing a year ago and really enjoy it, I'm a science major so suffering, and I lived overseas about 6-7 years consistently even though we moved to three different countries. If there's anything else you wanna know feel free to message me because I do like talking to people!

This time the site didn't crash, hell yeah, but I didn't get a little green prompt box? So I'll just assume it went through since I was sent back to the main character creation section! If not I'll figure something out.

First thing I would do is check to see how large your image files are. What is the file size of your design sheet? If your files are too large the uploader might reject it.
It also doesn't like when you use any special characters in the text, like letters with accent marks.

Hello! Finally it worked! I tired resizing the overall design sheet and that was the issue :D Sorry for all the hassle and thanks for all the help!

Nana-Banana, make sure you submit your character through the website itself! Here's the step by step in how to do so

For some reason the page keeps crashing after I've uploaded everything and filled out her name and the like? It's most likely my internet connection so I'll try again tomorrow on campus where there's better wifi. If it keeps acting up ;v; I'll cry just a bit before I report back!

Has no business doing this with a test tomorrow but please enjoy somehow

Good thing Abby isn't an artist, haha! You best be careful what shenanigans you all do Abby is always watching.

Maybe try to guess who's next on her hit list? No no, this isn't a list to hurt you just take photos without your permission :D

Abigail's back and better than ever! Why I punished myself by hand painting this I'll never know! Watch your back or you'll end up on the front page of tomorrow's paper.

A dashing and quick witted journalist Abigail is leaving the competition in the dust as a flashing camera is noted across the city. Meddling with things at The Daily Buzz this road runner’s passion is capturing the action and reporting a play by play to citizens the following day. Keeping a steadfast pace and avoiding any hurdles that require a new heroine to emerge this misfit of a super powered family avoids the limelight; why be a hero when there’s a scoop?

Since it has been a while since I tried to start doing a character on void I thought I'd give it another go. Lots of personal issues and moving made it hard for me to keep working, along with starting college, but since I do have down time every now and then I thought I could use project to help me simmer down. I don't have my tablet so everything is gonna be good old pencil and paper for the moment. Since I'm almost restarting I thought I'd redraw the first 2 pages ( I'm shorting the comic to 3 pages) to get some general feedback/interest back in my Abby. I'm already planning on resizing the first page to almost fill the entire sheet like the 2nd page but, I just wanted to make sure the story flowed so far. Sorry if it's super big, trying to fix it! Thanks! (Also scanner is scanner :I what can ya do, turns my pic kinda wacky?)

So I have some better roughs of the 1st two pages of the comic, more than likely I will use all four pages but if I can fit it into 3 I will try to do just that! Been busy with graduation, family issues, and getting ready to move again so I haven't had all that much time for wiggle room to even relax let alone draw. So for pg 1 I had a different idea, which I got from my friend Elge, who suggested maybe instead of a choppy panels to panels I have a full body (siloette at least) of Abby in the shower to show a better perspective of things going on? Let me know if that idea sounds cool cause again, this is my first real comic so I'm open to any ideas of suggestions you guys might have. I Really don't have a set idea for the first page so I'm throwing around ideas like this is suppose to have the toilet in the forefront so you see the radio with a faded shower silhouette in the background if that makes sense? I'm just lost on what to do/ how to set up the first page at together really but, second page is more or less gonna be the same set up as I have now.

(Sorry about the size, my friend told me to safe the roughs as JPGs from now on and I will!)

First back to Mister Kent: I will definitely get those hands and feet drawn as soon as I can. I'm hoping to get my design sheet mostly done after prom this weekend and in between/after finals. I'll make sure that lazy eye is gone as well :D

Then to Terran: I will extend the page size to make her body all portioned correctly! It's the same thing, some time after prom/finals I'll touch her up and hopefully make Abby look more presentable!

I did get a few roughs of the first two pages done, and after some advice from my friend Elge, who even suggested a full body shot to play with the panels more, (After changes on the first page) I'll finish up a solid draft of the first two pages within the next week or two as well. More info about Abby to come next post, but in the mean time this is some of her old information from my first failed run with her for some additional help figuring out her character: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1I0E64CcTmRoiq7FxX_Q9fhrA_ImwsVj518qIwQ8JuS8/edit

Then page 2, I swear everything will make more sense once its all cleaned up,

THE INCUBATOR / Abigail Lynnhaven; The Journalist
« on: May 24, 2015, 09:03 PM »
This is definitely some unfamiliar waters for me so I thought I'd just jump right in. My friend, an old VOID user that may be coming back as well, introduced me to VOID about a month ago and I've been a bit busy to really do much or figure out what kinda character I wanted to bring in. I decided I'd run with an OC that kinda got left in the dust before really doing much so I figured it be best if I kinda showed how she has developed in the last little while. Originally she wasn't going to have any super powers or abilities in the world she was intended for which explains her more average appearance however, I figured I might change her up a bit.

Abigail Lynnhaven (Also known as Flash or Abby) was, and is, a journalist for some famous newspaper press called "The Daily Buzz" for which she reported all news to deal with the heroes/villains/ super natural happenings in the world. However, the more I played around with her character the more and more I was liking the idea of her having some powers since both her parents have some kinda of super natural powers themselves. She is basically the Flash in a sense, with super speed and being slightly stronger than your average lady Abby could be a hero whenever she wants... If she ever decides to become a hero that is. With this new approach I decided to freshen up her character a bit, even though it's still far from done, and might even come up with a super heroine costume for her in the design sheet.

Anyway, I was hoping to get some help with maybe design ideas and general anatomical help before making a definite design sheet and making some solid roughs for the intro comic pages. Thank you and sorry for the mass of text!
