First of all I must commend you on your copious amount of backgrounds on this little beauty. Very few dare to squeeze in as many details in their work, but you whizzed it away. Second I did have a blast reading this. It's always refreshing to see someone turn to the dark side. I cannot wait what stories you will explore using this new side of Gray. So many shades you can explore. Good work Shen, keep it up.

Thanks for the comments you guys! Hobbitastic, I'll keep a closer look out for how I draw Gray's eyes (mostly if she doesnt have pupils its because i shrunk her irises to the size of pupils for dramatic effect). Nega Gray's eyes are bigger and more doe-like because an AU version, a reflection of what Gray could have been, and I wanted her to look like a happier, more put-together person. Kozi, I've been thinking about if I want to changer her costume or not but I haven't done any doodles yet. If i do we'll probably see it by the next comic shes in but I'm also a big fan of what she wears now. benT you are right about my typography ^^; some of it is less than stellar. I have to be more careful with the texts. I'm glad everyone likes it! I'm looking forward to taking Gray in thsi new direction!

Okay, so this comic was really awesome.
Of course the extreme faces are the stars of the comic and it adds a really refreshing tone of EXACTLY how she feels. You did a great job coloring, though watch out of over packing a page. The only real thing I see is that you're a little inconsistent on whether she has pupils or not. It changes depending on the panel from page to page. Also, a *very* minor thing: Heaven Gray has really big doe eyes, and I totally get it, but at first reading for a second I thought Heaven Gray and Banished Gray weren't the same person (obviously the text tells you it's her). This is only because it had happened pre-going crazy, so she shouldn't have *that* drastic of eye shapes.
BUT UGGG this was a really great read and will totally be keeping my eye out of her. Great job!!

Oooo snippity snap, son. Shizz just got real!
First off- DAT GRIN. On page one even! That's some super groovy exaggerated expression. I knew once I clicked the first page this was going to be a wild ride. The establishing shot on page 2 was pretty good as well! I'm actually real lame when it comes to cityscapes and making them look like they have personality, but I think you managed to shock folk into attention with that lightning bolt. I am fully enjoying the continuity everyone is using with the previous tournaments as I spy a crater there.
Its cool to see how you're weaving Gray's tale in getting a glimpse of bizarro world. Pg3 and Gray's marks really made me think about your fighters design. She's been all beefed up to look like she belongs in Tron, but she's still wearing her original nightgown. I'd love to see her look upgraded to match her cool new scar. That said, going onto pg6 and her breakdown was chilling. just the agony turning to maniacal laughter that bleeds onto pg7 was super groovy. You really get a glimpse of your animation chops with that gradual shift in emotion.
So much good backgrounds@! I know BGs are the unsung heroes of what makes comics cooler, and we harp on them when they're missing, but when they're there we don't give them their just due. Let me give you that due- the environment on page8 is bootiful. I love the unique angle and how Gray is hovering above it in all her spectre greatness. you have a real knack for building up that action for her to really let loose in her turn to the dark side.
Applause for you on the coloring of Gray on the last page too. I know you were asking about it and it seems you took some advice about adding depth to the shadows to heart! The silent brooding after her blowout, I think was a great way to end this explosive B.B. Definitely looking forward to more.

DAT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
It's rare you get to see a character completely snap like that, and when it happens, it's VERY satisfying. I can't wait to see your next battle.
crit comment: As always, your expressions for Gray are awesome, esspecially the one of Page 7 Panel 1. I feel like you could spend a little more time on the structure and details of the backgrounds. The pacing was pretty spot on, and I was getting more and more pumped as I was reading. The typography in your word bubbles could be neater, but unless you've had extensive typography training, it's something that you shouldn't worry too much about. I would try to make the type a little smaller next time.
SICK COMIC, BRAH
EDIT: I just realized, Gray blew up a few buildings there. Did she do it DBZ style and blow up some empty buildings? Or did she straight up murder a whole apartment building?

This... will make giving her a hug more difficult, but not impossible! It might have to be a tackle hug though. Hehe.

Like, one of the things that makes them so pretty is the way they reflect everything around them, objects, shadows, and especially light. I would say lighting is one of the few areas in this comic that you seemed to ignore a little bit. You did a lovely job choosing colours for your shadows, but the brighter sections of Gray are just lit with a very neutral light, despite the fact that the setting is a city at night. If there's any setting that "Lots varied and coloured light" it's a city at night. Even when she lights Void on fire, she stays lit the same way, which decreases the intensity of the fire up until the super cool last panel.
I know you put a massive amount of work into this dude, and it really shows. Every time you post something, you're so much better at like everything. Animators are always the craziest artists. And being willing to push and change your character so much is the sign of a great storyteller. It's great work dude, and you should be so proud of it.
