Curses Red, you deleted my post where I compiled a bunch of tumblr tutorials I had come across :/. Anyways I hope this is the right place to stick this in. Aside from the Loomis books, a lot of public domain art books are pretty disappointing. But I came across this Gesture Drawing for Animation pdf:

Even if you're not an animator, this is chock full of good advice and tips.
(By the way, though there is a little blurb that mentions it, this pdf is purposefully free and legal on the internet and based on the author's teaching notes. It had his approval for distribution.)
